What does your channel name mean? I picked "Plant Based Bride" for my blog when I started it back in 2015 as I was starting the process of planning my vegan wedding and wanted to document it. I have been vegan for 8+ years and married since 2016!
What's your real name? Elizabeth
Where are you from? I'm a Canadian from Toronto, Ontario.

Are your nails natural? Nope, they're press ons and I do them myself (see how in this tik tok: www.tiktok.com/@plantbasedbri... )

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this format ❤ I’d also love to know: what’s the best book you read in February?
Gallant by audiobook. Thank you for recommending. I like the format.
Out of the 6 books I read, my fave book from Feb was From Blood and Ash… ❤
I love this format! My best book for February was certainly Vita Nostra
My favourite books for February were Braiding sweetgrass in Non-fiction and Parable of the Talents by Octavia E Butler for fiction.
For a nonfiction book about (predominantly British) History and the impact on today, I also recommend Akala's Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire
I love the format and would say it trumps pwm videos as it is a combination of book wrap up and journalling. If filming it every month is too tedious, please do it without filming and do it as a flip thru. It may be easier on you.
This is actually my favorite type of reading wrap up video, so I'm definitely here for it!
Oh good, I’m glad! 🥰
Love this type of video format, here for it! You made it under 40 mins too, it sits at a nice length. Makes me want to go journal and write quotes too!
Aw yay I love that ❤️ it definitely took a lot of editing to get it down so short 😂❤️❤️
I love all your bookish content no matter what it is and what format it takes. I truly appreciate your recommendations. I am a new fan of Dark Academia thanks to you. Can’t wait to see what comes next. My favorite February book is Lessons in Chemistry. With gratitude and appreciation. ❤
Ah such a lovely favourite for the month ❤️ and thank you! 🥰🥰
I'm happy you're back with your monthly reading videos! I missed them a lot because I like your reading videos most
Aw thanks! I’m happy to be back with them, too ❤️
I really love this combination, because I am a fan of both monthly wrap-ups and also reading journals!! 💌 also, I hope you get well soon.
Thank you so much ❤️ I’m definitely starting to feel better now 🥰
Yay I'm so glad you decided to bring back the monthly wrap up. To be honest, I follow your channel for your reading content rather than your bujo content. I love your book reviews and your taste ressembles mine so super excited this is back!
I’m happy to bring them back! I’m hoping this format is more sustainable for me ❤️
I love all of your reading updates and it is always so entertaining and inspiring to see your book spreads. I’m glad your monthly recaps are back! I have missed them
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy them ❤️❤️
Reading journal video was actually how I first got to your channel. I missed the wrap ups even though I enjoy your other bookish content. Thanks for bringing those back
Hope you are feeling better!
Of course! I’m glad to be bringing them back 🥰 and thank you, I’m definitely on the mend!
This structure works so well, I loved being able to see your process in setting up your monthly reading spreads and also hearing your thoughts on each book throughout I hope you continue to do these videos.
I'm so glad you like it! ❤️❤️
Love the format Elizabeth! Also re: the book and the education system. I think a way you can spread the message of the book would be to make a dedicated video on it, maybe as "podcast" style with a co-host who is a teacher (maybe there's someone in your audience who would be willing!) To explore ways the book could align with curriculum and chat through some of the themes etc. That video then could be shared among teacher groups, because in some cases teachers are given full autonomy for choosing their own books and it might give people a good starting place :) hope this helps or gives you inspiration on a way to move your idea forward!
Oh, that’s an interesting idea! I’ll have to think on that a bit. Thank you for the suggestion! ❤️
Yay! Bookish content from Elizabeth is back! 🥰 Loved the video, I always get so many great recommendations from watching your wrap ups.
Well, bookish content never went away, just my monthly wrap ups! I’m glad you’re excited about it though 😂
That was incredibly satisfying on so many levels. Thank you.
I love this format - I always look for your reading journal updates and love to watch them. This month I had many great reads - I guess my best read this month was The Rose Code, by Kate Quinn.
I’m so glad you like it! ❤️ I always feel like I don’t get enough chances to share my reading journal so this was fun for me 🥰
This was great! I love to see you work on your book journal. Blessings.
Lovely! And loved your wrap-up. I adored Lessons in Chemistry!
I appreciate any book journaling and reading content you're willing to gift us! I do love this format. In my personal reading journal I do a cover page and summary quarterly instead of monthly, and I try to pick a colour scheme to build cohesion across the entries (we'll see if I feel like sticking to that though!)
Love the combo of these videos!! Your book journal is how I found your channel so I’m all for book journal content!!
This video is amazing, and I can’t imagine how long this took to create! This definitely gave me some book and journaling inspiration, so thank you!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! It definitely took a while to make (longer being sick lol 😅) ❤️
I really enjoyed this formatting! Great combination of the book discussion and the creative/journalling side.
For February, I didn't end up reading much at all, unfortunately. This month, so far, my favourite has been NK Jemisin's The City We Became (and thank you again because your comments on it and Broken Earth got me into reading her!). Sequel is now DEFINITELY on my TBR.
Hope you feel better soon!
Yessss I just love the cross over of reading journal and wraup up video, it is just perfect reading content !! :)
Yay, thank you!
I stumbled across your video and I’m so glad!! I really enjoyed this video with the combination! If you do another one, I would love to see it! Thank you!
I like the format. I like being able to see the process while listening to you talk about the books. Very brain pleasing.
I don't know that I could choose a fav book for February. I read the Trickster trilogy which I loved SO much. But I also read Bad Cree which on top of being a good book also viscerally felt like the prairies where I grew up but moved away from a few years ago.
I love this format!! Beautiful as always 🫶
Thank you so much ❤️
This is the first video of yours I have watched and I am greatly impressed. You're extremely talented and your reviews are truly wonderful. It was such a pleasure to see how you created your month wrap-up. I am in complete awe!
Aw thank you! I hope you’ll stick around 🥰
LOVE this format!!!
Oh good! 🥰
I usually don't comment on videos, but this was a way too great one for me to not say anything
Severals books will probably end up on my wish list to read ^^
I'm about to start my own reading journal, and watching this is giving inspiration and motivation to do it, I love the fact you can just go back to what you read and read thoughts you had on it
This format is really great, seeing all how you're setting up your spreads and hearing you talking about all of the books you read that month, it's inspiring and such chill vibes
Thank you for this 🙇♀
Aw I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I hope you love having your own reading journal ❤️❤️
Love, Love, Love this video! So cozy and it combines everything I love about your channel. Honestly though, would (and do) watch anything and everything you post :)
Aw thank you! 🥰🥰
I love this format of a wrap up!
Ah yay I’m glad! ❤️
Yay! Your book journaling videos are my favorite. Loved this one!
Aw thanks! 🥰
love this so much!!! as a fan of both the reading wrapups and reading journal content, this feels like a perfect combination ❤️ thank you for all the insightful reviews once more & i hope you feel better soon!
Aw thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
I've missed this format! ❤ glad to see it once again
Glad you enjoyed it!❤️
I love all your book content (that is why I subbed) and you inspired me to start a reading journal! I’ve never kept a journal in my life and now I’m on my second year of doing one. I love this content so much! ❤
That’s awesome! I love it 🥺❤️
This is absolutely perfect! Lovely job!
Thank you so much! 🥰
I love this video and this format.
I’m so glad! 🥰
I love how you did the wrap-up! Your journal pages always turn out so pretty. 💕💞
Thank you so much! 🥺❤️
Very nice and relaxing! Hope you feel well soon 💖
Thank you so much! I’m already feeling a lot better ❤️
I love these wrap-up videos 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome! 🥰
Loved this! I always enjoy seeing your creativity come to life in your journals, and the added bonus of getting some new book recs was awesome. 💜
Thanks so much! 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed it 🥰
This is a great video and setup and I hope you do more of these
Thanks, will do 🥰
i like the reading journal content because you do more of a scrapbooky style and thats what i like to do in my bullet journal! so its a twofer of books and bujo inspo
Aw wonderful! That’s what I was hoping for ❤️
Love this!
I’m so glad! 🥰
Really enjoyed this format! Always love your booktube content💖
Thank you! I’m so glad 🥰
this is my favorite kind of video!! definitely keep them up!!
Thank you ❤️ Will do!
I'm a huge fan of your reading journal videos, I'm really happy to see this video! Please do more!! I loved this video! The best book I read in February was Crescent City 2, from Sarah J Mass ❤️
Aw thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it ❤️
I looooved this video! Please continue this format:))
Aw I’m glad! Will do 🥰
I love your wrap ups and reading journal videos, so ing both at once feels perfet
Yay, thank you! ❤️
Yay reading journal content! I have been keeping a reading journal of my own thanks to your videos, which have inspired me! I'm appreciative of any reading journal/reading content you post regardless of the format.
Oh fun! I hope you love having one ❤️
Loved this style of video format! Such beautiful spreads!
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️
I LOVE this !!
Aw thanks! 🥰
Good morning Elizabeth. I really love the book review videos. These spreads are gorgeous like always. Thank you for sharing. 📚
Thank you ❤️❤️
Loved this setup!
Thank you!
I am one of those who missed these videos so thank you for making them again! I really enjoyed this one! ❤❤ my favourite book I read in February was Elena Knows, by Claudia Piñeiro. I am currently reading The downstairs girl, because you recommended it and I am very much enjoying it! Hope you are feeling better! 😚🙏🏻
Oh I hope you love The Downstairs Girl! I feel like I don’t talk about it much but I really enjoyed it ❤️
I liked this video, thank you. I loved Lessons in Chemistry too. It was one of my favourite books last year.
It’s such a great book! ❤️
I missed your monthly reading bujo videos and this was top tier ! I loved seeing how you write your thoughts for each book. Love the format and got great recs
Yay, thank you! So glad you enjoyed 🥰
Love love LOVE this format! ❤
Aw good! (And I love your profile pic!)
@@PlantBasedBride Thank you! From my long lost bookblogger years 😅
I loved this format! Thank you for inspiring me to get back into journaling my reading journey ❤. Hope you are feeling better!
You are so welcome ❤️ and thank you!
Loved it!!!!!!!!
I’m so glad 🥰
Sounded lovely! Could hardly tell you didn't feel well. I hope you feel better soon!!
I’m so relieved 😅 it took me a few hours with many breaks (and many many lozenges) to get through the whole voiceover!
I really enjoyed the way this video was done! I’d love to see this style again for your reading videos
Amazing! So glad you liked it 🥰
I found your channel because of your reading content and this format is wonderful also love watching you work on your reading journal. All the spreads are so pretty but also very useful.
Thank you so much! 🥰
I loved this format; it was such an enjoyable video to watch.
I'm so glad! 🥰❤️
I love how it turned out 😍 and I love your voice, it's so soothing ☺️
Aw thank you! I was worried being sick would make it harder to listen to because it was definitely much harder to talk than usual 😅❤️
Love to see back your long videos about your reading!!! ❤ I enjoy them like a tv show, with snacks and a drink. Just a personal preference, I like it more when you are on screen talking about books, and we can see your expressions and demeanor, but that could be just me 😝 Thanks for providing me with great Sunday entertainment ❤
Thank you! I’ll definitely still be doing talking-to-camera videos, just likely for fewer books at a time like I was doing last year ❤️
I’m here for any book related content you want to make. This was great!
Aw thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🥰
I loved this video so much! I’m a subscriber for the journaling content personally , but I also enjoyed just seeing your wrap up and stats and how you felt about each book. Such a perfect video to start my day with 😊 Calming and motivating.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it and felt it wa sa good way to start the day! ❤️❤️
Yay so happy to see a wrap up from you again! I like this format a lot. But honestly it doesn’t really matter how you make your bookish videos. I love them any way ✨
Aw thank you 🥺❤️❤️
Your monthly wrap-ups were my favourite wrap-ups on all of CZcams tbh!! I just love the way you talk about books and I have very similar taste to you so I definitely missed them. So this new format of it is perfect because I also love watching your reading journals 💜
Wow, thank you so much! 🥺 I’m so glad you like this format, too 🥰🥰
I just love to watch this! It felt so relaxing and inspiring! Can't speak as to how it used to be but this is great! ❤️
Thank you so much! 🥰
This was perfect! Loved every spread! Loved how in depth you got with everything. It was great! I think this will fill the void for everybody! Maybe try drinking tea with honey in it, that should help sooth your throat! 💖
Thank you! I’m definitely drinking lots of tea ❤️
I really like the new format! I will say I also very much enjoyed the more thematic book content you made last year. I'm a fan of both your journaling videos and your book/reading videos and I'm very happy to watch in whatever format is feasible and enjoyable for you to make :) I also think switching it up sometimes makes it fun for both you and us as viewers! My favourite book I read in February is To Be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers (on your recommendation!) - truly made me cry and now I can't wait to read the Wayfarers series. Close seconds: Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton and Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi.
I plan on continuing those thematic reading challenge/vlog videos as well! They were really fun for me, too ❤️ I’m so glad you’re enjoying the bookish content! And I’m SO so glad you loved TBTIF!!!! One of my favourite books of all time 🥰🥰
I just love your reading journal content!❤️ It just always makes me feel so comfortable and calm, and I love the style of your reading journal. I wish I had the talent and motivation to have such a pretty reading journal😍 I'm just always shocked about how many five stars reads you have😳 I feel like I'm way more harsh on the books I read lol❤️
I’ve definitely gotten better about picking books I think I’ll enjoy over the years! But I’m also happy to give an imperfect book five stars if I love it ❤️
ahh this is so wonderful, loving this unique format to reading wrap ups! your set up is beautiful and the vibes are just so cozy 🥰 so happy to have found your channel. i love the thoughtful dialogue you have for each book that you read! the best book i read in February is Know My Name by Chanel Miller, it was such a powerful read and I've been recommending it to everyone
Know My Name was so heartbreaking. It will stay with me forever 💔
@@PlantBasedBride yes totally agree. I also finished Lessons in Chemistry last week and loved it so much. I hate the US cover tho so I'm trying to purchase the UK cover haha
I love this video! Very cool format ❤ new subbie
Thank you and welcome 🥰
I love the video! I'm really intrigued by your reading around the world challenge and would love to see a dedicated video/update for this as well if you ever feel like making one. 😊
I talked about it more in detail when I made the spread initially in my last reading journal! That was in my “5 more reading journal spreads” video ❤️
@@PlantBasedBride I‘ll check it out, I might have missed it. ☺️
I love this new format ! It would be great for the next one if you could insert the cover in bigger so we can follow of which book you are talking. take care !
I’ve had another request to include my book cards for the trigger warnings so that would include a bigger look at the cover as well ❤️
lessons in chemestry and tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow are two of my favorites this year> I dont know which one to pick as winner for 2023. Still two more reading months to go anyway
Love this format! Not too long but also in depth. Maybe you could frame the stats in the beginning not as percentages but as "6 of the 13 books", "half of the books I read" or something along those lines for a better understanding? Either way I enjoyed your wrap up and am looking forward to the next one!
Oo that’s a good idea! I’ve also had requests to put the stats on screen which I’m planning on doing next time ❤️
I hope you feel better
Thank you! ❤️❤️
Oh man! Maybe I'll start adding a monthly page to my journal and use my storygraph stats.
It’s so fun to look back on them! ❤️
I would kill for all of this
This was a great format and I love any bookish videos! Personally I would also love to see the stats on screen for easier visuals.
I considered that but I was wasn’t sure. Thanks for mentioning it! I’ll try it next month ❤️
I've never been a big non-fiction fan I always associated it with forced reading bc of school but last year you inspired me to open up on the genre's I read and I started reading more non-fiction. To my surprise, I LOVE the ones Ive found and I like that I'm learning about things. My interests have been in the history part of non-fiction but I plan on getting into the advice part too.
Oh this is so wonderful!! I would love to hear which were your favourites ❤️ I’m always wanting to read more nonfiction!
@@PlantBasedBride one of my favorites has been The Betrayal of Anne Frank which was the 6 year long cold case investigation into who tipped off the Gestapo on the location of the attic. It's soooo detailed and well explained. They explore the over 30 possible scenarios of what could've happened, which is then knocked down to 12, and then 5
Really love your journals. Could you share some tips on how you manage to read so many books a month. I want to but I need some help. Thank you.
I actually like this format. My favorite February book has to be the Dream Thieves by Maggie Steifvater.
I’m glad to hear it 🥰
I'm new to the channel so I'm unfamiliar with your usual format but I just wanted to say that it was super unique and I loved it. I also have a reading journal so it's cool to see other people geeking out about their reading stats :3
I would do regular talking-to-the-camera wrap ups before ☺️ I still plan on making videos in that format, but I find covering more than a handful of books like that tends to turn into super later filming nights and very long editing days 😅 I’m glad you enjoy this combination, though! (And welcome 🥰)
@@PlantBasedBride that does sounds pretty intense! I guess you can vary the format depending on your schedule/mood but I think they'd be great either way ☺️
I really enjoyed this format - love your reading reviews. Would love to see the stats graphs overlayed so we could see them as you talk about them (not a criticism at all - just a comment related to my need to see it to hear it, if that makes sense). Thanks for this creative way to speak about the books you’ve read!
Someone else mentioned that, too! I’d considered it but decided against it for this video, but I’ll definitely try that out next time ❤️
Really enjoyed the video! Watched it right before I went to sleep and it was even very helpful. An adult version of a night time story haha :)
- Immediately heard you're a bit sick-ish. I felt bad that you felt you needed to apologize for the way you sound. No need whatsoever in my opinion. "Hell", we should be grateful to be even given a video. I know I am.
Hope you recover fully soon! And please don't over exert yourself for us; health is a priority 🖤
Oh! And I can really (!) recommend "We Should All Be Feminists" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. This is an essay (written out text of her TED talk) of which I feel every person in every country should read in school
Aw I love that! And thank you, I’m definitely on the mend 🥰
You should read The Marrow Thieves! It checks similar boxes as Gutter Child while having a focus on community and reclamation. I heard you say that Gutter Child should enter the Canadian curriculum and that is exactly how I feel about The Marrow Thieves
Oh thank you for the suggestion! I have it on my TBR but haven’t gotten around to it yet ❤️
love this video! have to buy a new printer what’s your recommendation?
I have an HP printer but I don’t love it to be honest 🤔
you really sold me on lessons in chemistry :)
I hope you enjoy it!
Hey, I was just wondering where I could find the map you use? I've been looking for a long time, but I can't find one I like with the countries divided with lines like the one in your reading journal.
I love that you brought back the monthly book review!! So i can hear your thoughts and recommendations! But i think i prefer the talking video because then it feels like a friend is talking to you about books. But i understand that it might not work for you at the moment. Anyways every bookvideo from you is amazing! So please keep going! -xx-
I definitely plan on continuing to make “talking-to-the-camera” style book review videos, but likely for fewer books at a time like I’ve been doing over the past year ❤️ I find once I’m talking about more than 5-6 books the videos start to get very long and intense to film! I find doing that once in a while like for my yearly Goodreads video is doable but every single month it’s just a little too intense for me when it comes to the workload ❤️❤️
@@PlantBasedBride I am looking forward to those videos!! But I get your point of it being intense!
Do you have a template of the spreadsheet you set up for the stats?
I am absolutely OVER JOYED to see more reading and reading journal content from you! I will always be happy to see it, whatever way you want to grace us with it!!
As you asked for feedback the only thing I'd ask you to consider is putting/showing the stats on screen as you talk the through. When people say numbers to me I glaze over and can't take in anything meaningful.
Of course, you should weigh this request up against how much effort it is for you to do and I'd never want you to think it was something 'wrong', just something to try as others may find it a bit confusing too?
Love your videos, have been a long time watcher and will always click every time you pop up on my sub box (...but I click even faster for reading journal content haha)
A few others mentioned the stats thing so I’ll definitely add it next time! I considered it this time but I was very sick and ended up deciding not to bother 😂❤️
I thoroughly enjoy your book-related content. Any chance you'd be willing to share your spreadsheet? I've been struggling to come up with a good way to log/track all that data.
Best book I read in February was Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine. I also loved The Reading List. My other February read was The Kingdoms Of Savannah, and it was just okay.
I use Book Roast’s CAWPILE spreadsheets! If you search “Book Roast CAWPILE” on CZcams the first result should be the video where she explains it and you can download it! 🥰
@@PlantBasedBride Thanks! Setting it all up now!
This looks like sooooo much work! Jesus, how do you do that? It looks stunning though.
I enjoy it! Just like any hobby I suppose ❤️
No five star books but all the books I read were four stars for different reasons. Not too bad!
That’s awesome! Did you have a favourite?
I noticed that a book I read is listed on your 23 books in 2023. I hope I get to hear/see your review and thoughts on Parable of the Sower.
It’s our book club book this month! I’m very excited to read it ❤️
@@PlantBasedBride it should provide lots to discuss!
are the small pictures 🖼 printed or purchased? Thank you!!!
