    This is the best phone I have ever had. If you know the feel and difference of having a PC on M.2 and an i7 or better processor with a solid graphics card. This is what this phone feels like. I always keep my phone for 2 years or more and this is the first one that feels exactly like it did on day one, maybe even better because of software upgrades. The battery is the only thing that needs to be replaced and that's why I'm here.

    I know this is an old video but I just wanted to say thank you. I bought my Razer phone brand new but after just a year and a half the USB-C port died. I actually love the phone and planned on keeping it for at least 3 years. Managed to find a used usb/charging board on ebay for $30 and was able to repair it with your video. You saved me from having to drop $400+ on a new phone!

However, I know if I went ahead and disassemble my phone to like this there's no way in hell I can put it back together. This was greatly informative. Im going to do a disassembly myself and try to fit in a bigger battery and replace the thermal paste.. also see if i cant live without the wireless charger and the rgb light.. i am making an aluminum backplate to help with heat dissipation and the bigger battery so i can pull more performance and game time out of the unit, planning on overclocking mine. Man i am glad they didnt just outright glue the fucking battery into the device and opted for screws, makes servicing and modding it much easier of a proposition

      Ya, I'm not too sure what those wires are for, however I still don't understand why many manufactures still use those when I would expect them just to run the lines through a flex cable or the main board itself. @PBKreviews  Před 5 lety +1

      Not sure how something that thin can be a vapor chamber but ya it was a very thin copper flat against the midframe, im sure it disperses the heat well but again i dont like how they put it behind the screen. Also thanks, i will look into getting that phone and doing one. Im going to post one of the rog phone and the red hydrogen one phone soon so keep an eye out for it

      @@PBKreviews What I question is the choice to put the battery basically right up against the copper heat transfer plate. Vapor chamber or not, I suspect it will get the battery warmer than it would otherwise, which is not great.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 5 lety

      True, there are those two flex cables running in between the copper and battery, however not sure if that helps any. Aside from the heat, the whole removal of the battery with that metal plate is actually a plus in my opinion because it made the removal of the battery very easy compared to when its adhered down and requires you to pry it off and warp the battery etc.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Před 4 lety +2

      As I have told others before, after taking the phone apart, all that's left is for you to pry the screen off. Its only held on with adhesive. You just heat it up and pry it off the frame. The point is you need to take the phone apart to be able to disconnect the screen cable and be able to reconnect the screen cable for your new screen. If you can't figure out that part then you should not even be taking a phone apart to begin with because you will most likely damage parts along the way of the disassembly which will render your phone useless even before you get to the screen part. It's like taking the bolts off a rim that's on a car then asking someone ok now that the bolts are off, how do I remove the rim with tire off the car? you just pull it off.
