    Yes Courtney, the quick hitch is absolutely the first item to buy for any tractor owner. Not needing to purchase bushings would've saved me over $300.00, so this speeco has to be the only 1 to purchase. And oh by the way, we have a speeco wood splitter, it has been going strong 6 years, & it's got a "made in America" sticker on it. Really need to wave the flag right now......

The info on the Speeco quick hit had me looking in the Alberta market for one (shipping/exchange and customs would be beast if I ordered from you, sorry). Found one at Princess Auto. Got it home set it up on my 1025R. Bought a tiller and when to pick it up off the trailer and low and behold Speeco made a design change. Cat 3 connection and the provide the first set of bushings. First let me say I am a subscriber and I like to watch your videos. I have been looking for this QH for some time. I would see them advertised by dealers but when you talk to them there answer is oh no we don't or haven't carried them for a long time. So I bought a Harbor Freight model you see on the internet all the time. It didn't work well took it back. I still looked around couldn't find one. I herd about this SpeeCo model from a you tube channel but still couldn't find one. So I just recently bought a SpeeCo QH but it has the larger lower hooks. Should have waited a little longer.

  • @warped2875
    @warped2875 Před 4 lety +8

    The reason that the Cat. 1 quick hitches have the lower pin slots and the upper hook slot made at Cat. 3 pin sizing is because that is what the "ASAE S278.6 DEC94 (SAE J909 JUN93)" calls out for Cat. 1 quick hitches. That is why they are called standards, ...so that any product that claims to conform to that standard is made to those dimensions and tolerances.
    The Spēēco that you offer is more convenient, and will save some money, for sub-compact and compact tractor owners that have Limited Cat. 1, and Cat. 1, 3-point linkage, but it does not conform strictly to the ASAE standard.
    That said, it is a good solution for the issue of having to buy bushings for every implement to get a proper fit to other "standard" quick hitches.

    • @GoodWorksTractors
      @GoodWorksTractors  Před 4 lety +3

      This answer is the equivalent of saying "because I said so". I've never heard of a reason why Category 1 attachments need to suddenly become Category 3 attachments to work with a Category 1 quick hitch. Seems like a money grab to me.

    • @warped2875
      @warped2875 Před 4 lety

      @@GoodWorksTractors
      I do agree with you on that. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
      The only good reason that I can think of for the ASAE standard for Cat. 1 to have been adopted this way is so that farmers could use their Cat. 3 pins with Cat. 1 implements on a Cat. 1 quick hitch, back when there were more farmers with Cat. 3 equipment than there were people (homeowners & hobby farmers) with Cat. 1 equipment. Also, I would venture a guess that there was more influence exerted by "Big AG" proponents on the ASAE committee that made the standards in the first place. Basically, not too concerned about any issues that would affect the aforementioned homeowners & hobby farmers.
      Keep up the good work Courtney!

      What Cat 3 attachment are you putting on a Cat 1 tractor? Cat 3 attachments are sizes to fit 150HP plus Ag tractors. Way, way, way too big for any compact tractor. A John Deere 1, 2, 3, and most 4 Series tractors will only fit Cat 1 attachments, therefore only Cat 1 pin size.
