Dw travel nd the host list are amazing
At 3:19 one of the most interesting things (for me) about the area is that the word (or term) geyser comes from this area, from the first known (to Europeans I guess) geyser. The term 'geyser' in English dates back to the late 18th century, from English travellers in Iceland, and comes from Geysir in Haukadalur (as shown in the video). Its name means "one who gushes".
Translating the term "geyser" to Icelandic would be "goshver". Just imagine if the word goshver would be the term used in English and other languages today instead of geyser 😅
That is very interesting thank you for your input.
"Gos-hver" is a straight forward literate translation. Geysir is more artistic translation. Geysir sounds much better
Good👍
Iceland!
