There are so many reasons I watch camping videos-seeing places I’ll never get the opportunity to visit, the cool gear, cooking, and the unique personality of the presenter. I would never leave a channel because of one thing-especially when it was detrimental to the presenters comfort! And when the host was so honest about it! That would make me even MORE committed to the channel. Keep being you and hammock or not we’ll be here!

Another great video Dan. Loved your piece of steak which looks like it was bought from the butcher and not the supermarket. Our village used to have three butchers, but now there is just one. We should support our local traders. I too prefer tent camping.

Another great video Dan. Really enjoying your output. I had to smile as you wike up smiling that you were in a tent. I get that exact feeling, and looking forward to getting out tomorrow night. I enjoyed watching you cook your your tea on the Firebox, but i can't get enthused about wood burning stoves. They look great but it Just seems too much faffing about and i imagine they are a bugger to clean, as well as your cooking pots and pans.
I think i also share your enthusiasm for the OEX brand as well. I love their stuff. I have the ultra light chair, Traverse IMX pad and Fathom 300 sleeping bag. Also the Frysta frying pan which is brilliant. All getting a run out tomorrow night in the woods on the edge of the West Pennine Moors. Keep them coming Dan, your videos are an inspiration. 👍

To only loose 15 Dan is miniscule in the scheme of things with your subs mate. For me personally I like to watch all the forms of camping it 's surprising what you learn over the long haul. I've bought a Taiji 2 too, with the 3 season inner (been looking for the 4 season one but constantly out of stock) Really like the small pack size & decent space, we're intending to use it for long distance hikes, like the Great Glen Way etc. Snug for two but like the two doors.

Always enjoy watching your videos, maybe add a little bit of advice not to have open fires etc or be careful using gas stoves etc with everything being so dry.

Absolutely spot on 😊 not a criticism, just I've seen some horrendous incidents over the last few days and weeks with people going camping and using all sorts to cook food.
Enjoy the outdoors, just be mindful of your surroundings and what danger you could create by having open fires such as a Swedish log or using a gas stove for boiling water.

camping snobs I guess...never mind. I do enjoy the chatty birds in your vids even if your in the same ol woodland. Sounds silly but Ive seen it in all seasons now , and can see how lush it is or winter on its way so I too recognize it and it has history although ive never been there. Camping anywhere is good just to be outside ,I keep a tent of some kind set up in my yard which covers 4 1/2 acres with good private spots for tents or hammocks, even my own 2 RV park
Always look forward to your videos coming out Dan. I've just bought myself the onetigris wood stove. I just need to find a pot to use on it. I didn't want to ruin my nice new OEX cook pot. I use that on the gas burner. I haven't built up enough confidence to do a solo wild camp yet, but we are going camping to a campsite this weekend . I know it's not the same but I'm really looking forward to it. Great video as usual . 🥃🏕

Hey Dan, nice to tune in again, fair play to you for saying hammocking isn't for you, you gotta do what's best for you mate, personally I love hammocks, but the hammock camps I do never seem to do well on my channel 🤷 that tent looks a belter for the money 👍 summer time is my least favourite time to camp, too many people, and flies too 🤣 but you do get the great views 😍 I have the first version of the OEX chair and it goes everywhere with me, so comfortable 👌 you can't beat a wood stove, you don't need much wood to cook on them, so efficient 👍 you can't beat the sound of the sizzling steak on the fire 🔥🤤 fold looked really good too buddy 🤤 and I agree everyone should just get out there and do it, it'll be the best thing they do 🥰 brilliant video as always pal 😁👍🏕️ as always if you fancy a camp in the Lakes just give me a shout, atb Paul 🙏🏕️🏕️🏕️😁

It’s unpolished and raw, unlike a lot of CZcamsrs who hone their video skills, but that’s why yours is better, it’s you being honest and saying what you feel and that’s very refreshing. I really enjoyed it apart from the bit where your lovely steak and onions had that dehydrated crap poured next to it. 😂😂. I’m sure it tasted good and filled you up but just looked sacrilege to me.

I know what you mean about hammock camping. When I set one up properly with sturdy supports, the AMOK hammock system has been 'eye-opening' for comfort and protection. I have 'messed up' and found myself in the middle of the night, waking up and having slid to the wrong end of the sack. More experience is needed! As for ground-dwelling tents, we do need space to do 'stuff' during the day. That said, we have often turned to tarps to provide 'living' space.
I've just bought this tent, I hope it will be ok on the top of windy mountains with the extra guide lines I got with it.
I'll be up on mountains in Scotland soon so hopfully it will hold up.

I really enjoyed that. As others have said, it's your honest content that draws people to your channel, location and what you use are really unimportant for me.
You should come to Australia and come camping with me in summer. When you think the person in front of you is wearing a black shirt... then you realise their back is covered with flies... that's outrageous. I always wonder where they come from. One minute you pull up in the middle of nowhere, the only human for miles and within a few minutes the flies are everywhere. Good move moving camp. Maybe there is an old toilet deposit nearby to attract them? Human waste not properly buried is a major issue. BTW I hammock these days but you do what is best for you; I'm still subbed.

It truly surprises me that people would drop their subscription because you don't want to use a hammock 🤯 my mind I enjoy both because here in the southern US if I use a tent I can only camp 4 to 5 months it's just to 🔥 😓. Hi Dan saw a hack on tik tok the other day and this woman soaked a slice of bread in white vinegar and shoved it in her Wheely bin and all the flies left it alone and swarmed around next doors bin.
I am thinking of trying that on my next camp although not sure where I'm going stick the bread yet 🤣

But it doesn’t mean I don’t respect the environment around me and the people around me and that’s most important whatever sort of camping you do that’s one thing you Gotta keep in mind and as for the people who left your channel because you was quite open and said you don’t wanna do hammock camping ⛺️. Have you tried using a Thermacell fly repeller Dan? I swear by mine, it’s the first thing I set up on a camp, keeps 99% of flys away from your tent area. I saw Steve Wallis using one but you can buy them everywhere in the UK, including your favourite Go Outdoors. 👍🏻
If the weather is too hot try taking a tarp and the inner to your phoxx 2 tent.
