My first #Mermay! Hooray!
First, I need to apologize for the bizarre intro. I’m not sure where that craziness came from. I promise that no intoxicants were used in the making of this video. Well, except for maybe sleep deprivation and Mr. Super Clear fumes. Haha!
So, when I was accepted as a vendor at Wonderland of Play, I began to brainstorm dolls to make. One of the first to come to mind was a mermaid. Since then, we’ve been busy plotting and getting ready for this big moment. Finally, she’s here and I ADORE her. I hope you do too.

I’m currently preparing a bunch of dolls to sell at Wonderland of Play (www.wonderlandofplay.com/) in Bruges, Belgium this summer. If you live nearby, I’d love to meet you! So all my dolls are going toward that goal. However, if they don’t sell there, I’ll have them for sale in my shop.

Oh wow! Both you and your wife did an absolute INCREDIBLE job on this doll. She's STUNNING. Both the outcome and the process are marvelous and an absolute treat to watch. I was particularly in awe at the level of detail put into this doll, well in your dolls in general to be honest. They're always incredible like that, but I can't help but be mesmerized time and time again. Gods I completely understand you might would rather keep her for yourself than selling her because she's gorgeous.

I’m so here for this - I want to do Blythe dolls as a hobby, but I’m scared of messing up the face by carving. You make everything look so effortlessly. 🤗🤩
For beginners, I highly recommend buying a fake Blythe “factory” so you are playing with a $50 doll instead of a $150 doll. But I was scared for so long that I missed out on decades of this hobby. So don’t be afraid. Jump in and try it! You might find out that you actually have a talent for it! 😉
She is beautiful, you can see the time, effort and love (probably the swearing, tears and nerves too) that went into her and I would one hundred percent keep her. 🥰
I made her specifically to take with me to Wonderland of Play next month, but if she doesn’t sell, then “Oh well”. 🤪

Thank you! The intro is bizarre, but it seemed appropriate. 😆 We are still working out the kinks for the eyes and then decide what we are going to do with them. I’ll post when we figure out what that is. Lol!

This is frankly AMAZING. The details are incredible, and the alterations you made to the face make SUCH a difference to giving it character. I'm honestly in awe of y'alls skills and techniques here. Blythe dolls aren't normally to my personal taste and I'm SO glad that I was lured in by the theme to watch this video anyway. Bra-freakin'-Vo.

Holy moly, your doll customizing is on a whole other level. The thought, planning, time, skill, effort, use of tools, and attention to detail that you put into your dolls is clear in the final result. Nerissa is stunning. Her tail is so shimmery and poses so nicely. Her intricately designed armor and accessories have so so many small details that just make them pop. It's insane how talented you and your wife are. I love tiny details in doll customization, because it's those tiny details that really bring everything to life and can really change and enhance the whole doll. Wonderful video as always! I wanted to attempt to give you a tip. I don’t make dolls, I just watch a lot. Everyone I watch seem to use a rerooting tool they made themselves with a sewing needle they cut at an angle. I guess maybe it’s cheaper? And the one person who I saw try the real tool said the needle piece broke for them a lot and I think was harder to work with or uncomfortable compared to their homemade rig.
That’s interesting. I had mine break several times too, but they were also needles cut at an angle, but store purchased. I wonder what the difference is.

Only one question by me, and please don't take it as unfair critique, but is there a reason why you don't extend that amazing blushing to the rest of the body? Does it just not stick, maybe? I could have sworn I replied back to this comment. But I’m not seeing it now. 🤔. Anyway, yes, the top part of the body is a flexible vinyl that makes the paint crinkle if it bends. I did try painting it, but had to remove the paint. 😭

I did try to blush this one, but the Obitsu torso is vinyl and bends. So it was cracking and chipping the paint. So I opted not to.
Your channel is REALLY good. Maybe even one of the best doll customizers. Your intro is filmed like a movie and otherwise would be perfect.
However, PLEASE do your watchers and mostly, your channel the favor it deserves.
So for the love of Pete, PLEASE maybe…PLEASE consider changing your intro with the too long phone alarm and then … another second regular morning alarm.
Otherwise, your channel is definitely one of the best.

Hahaha! No. I WISH! I specifically say “Dawn Dish Soap” because it’s the stuff that has the anti-grease stuff to it. There’s something about it that breaks down glue and other bonding agents. But I have definitely used the generic versions before and it worked just the same. But regular dish soap without the degreaser doesn’t seem to work.
