    Until very recently, I have mostly ignored ogee bowls. Your thoughtful design layout results in a very nice profile and I will recommend this video to anyone wanting to explore this shape. Many just slap this curve in by eye and it often doesn't work.
    Another excellent video.

    I didn't realize spraying on the center was the most effective place. I thought the wavy lines of the paint were interesting at times. I think they showed the acceleration of your lathe like a sine wave. Anyway, I better get into the shop and make my own work.

    Great little fun and interesting project Tommy. Thanks.
    , when using scrapers on inside of bowls, particularly smaller bowls where you can’t get tool support inside bowl. How do you prevent catches, what shape scrapers do you use for insides of bowls. Can you explain how to successfully use shear scrapers on insides of bowls and boxes please. I had a catch the other day which ended up snapping an m2 HSS scraper. It snapped at the tool rest, I was scraping with about 40mm tool overhanging. Bottom of bowl scraping. Wood was Gidgee one of the hardest timbers in the world. Bowl stayed on chuck luckily.
    Thanks, Gregory from down under in Oz

    Centripetal force according to Physics no such thing as centrifugal force!

    • @greggerstner5599
      @greggerstner5599 Před 12 dny +1

      You can refer to the inertia of the paint as a kind of force. Centrifugal "force" doesn't exist without such inertia or moving mass, compared to say, gravity, which is a force that exists on it's own whether or not it's affecting an object. But in common usage, centrifugal force is a thing that we can relate to.
