As someone who does this every year: biker shorts (yoga shorts) and light cotton sundresses are your lifesavers.
Totally agree! Things that are flowy, won’t stretch out, and not going to show sweat. But bike shorts under dresses (alternative for underwear for me under a dress but can also be worn with a nice top) make you feel secure and reduces any chafing from walking a lot. Plus dresses can be worn day to night. Perfect outfit if you ask me.
Definitely no linen pants. Show sweat and stretch out.
As a Greek person, I would suggest packing clothes for really hot weather (the less the better haha) and don’t be too worried about nighttime. Just a light cardigan on top of your clothes will be enough. The weather at night is cool but not cold, especially if you are going to the south part of Greece. Plus, even if you feel cold you can always just buy a cheap shirt or something to use as an extra layer.

When it comes to keeping your handbag secure I highly recommend using a bag that has a cross-over strap so that it is hard for anyone to grab your handbag off your shoulder and run away with it. I also recommend something with a flap that sits over the zipper and is secured in the front - it makes it harder for someone to open it without you noticing. Also, always position your bag in the front and never let it sit towards your back. Keep the zip puller at your front when the bag is closed. You won't want someone to be able to open the zip from behind without you seeing.
Pickpocketing is common in tourist hotspots, so it helps to be vigilant. Also, avoid wearing lots of jewellery as this can make you a target for thieves.
As someone who travels for work with only a carry on, pack your clothes in a space bag to shrink them down! it makes a huge difference

As someone who currently lives in Germany and has traveled to a few countries in Europe, keep in mind that if you want to your cathedrals that you will need to have your shoulders covered to enter. If you carry a cardigan or a scarf with you, you will be prepared. 😃
Never been to Greece but I have visit Italy over the summer and loose fitting clothing were my holly grail. Breezy tops that aren't tight around the arm pit and light weight fabrics for example. Keeps you cool, plus you don't have to worry about chaffing with all your walking! But you won't want anything that creases because no one wants to be ironing on a holiday! And just on hats, you wouldn't want a baseball hat anyways as its not the best for sun protection. You're going to have so much fun!
Also! Pack laundry dryer sheets in your bag, they keep your clothes smelling clean and fresh! You can also get a little travel size de-wrinkle spray bottle that you can spray on your clothes to get the wrinkles out (if you wanted to).

I last went to Europe decades ago. My advice is "take twice as much money as you think you'll need, and half as many clothes!"

About the clothes, here's my 2 cents in case someone finds it helpful. I am 28, woman, European.
The jeans are an absolute staple here. We wear them EVERYWHERE. I don't know why people say you shouldn't in Europe. Just beware the heat and specific dress codes in fancy places.
I always go for loose knee-length dresses on my travels, and comfy, bulky sandals. Also, I always wear a crossbody bag with my documents during travel, and on location I wear totes, purses, whatever, but I ALWAYS have a tight hold on my purse😂 NEVER carry money and documents in a backpack. I also always carry a light shawl as a cover up and to protect my hair from nasty train seats. I think those would be all essentials I can really think of. Pickpockets are very common and very subtle in their ways, but just be alert and beware the crowds and you should be fine.

I’d skip a heavy sneaker. Check out Keene sandals. Super comfortable, sturdy, and waterproof. Ideal for hot weather. Perfect for walking on all surfaces, including sandy hillsides and cobblestone streets. They’d work, too, with all your cute looks.
Just got back from Greece and my Keene sandals were perfect. My second time in Europe with them and probably not my last! Mine even double as water shoes when needed. Love them!
Keene is the best! I prefer them even to my Teva and Chacos for long walking/hiking.
Linen all the way - it’s going to be hot and a bit muggy, and with all the walking you’re gonna need something that will breathe well. Have fun, you’re gonna love it!
Oh Rea this makes me so happy for you and your husband! I was supposed to go to Italy with my cousins for a month but it just won’t be possible this year. We are Italian and would love to see Italy one day. Please have an amazing time! Enjoy all the food, people, and wonderful things to see!
Hi Rea, at night it's not that cold in italy, we can say you don't need a jacket until 2/3 am, but during dinner time (which is from around 7 pm to 9 pm) you don't need one. But it depens much on what city you're in. 🥰
i have never been to greece but as someone living in turkey i can give some advices since the weather is really similar
i definitely recommend you to have hair conditioner with you, its important cause humidity is not the best thing for your hair
i also would recommend a hand fan
as clothes i really recommend your most comfortable clothes, lightweight dresses is the best option for the hot weather. have soooo much fun ❤️
For your hair, you can look at getting something like a keratin treatment which will keep your hair straighter when you leave it to dry naturally. It's a great way to minimise your time in the mornings when you're travelling. 🧡
I lived in Italy for 2 years. Yes, we wore jeans as well as everyone else haah. I just wouldn't want to for travel and being out ALL day. I lived a train ride from venice so it wasnt an all day thing. I would just bring comfy walkable breathable clothing. I loved all of your outfits so much except for the striped shirt but everything was so put together and neutral loved it!

I'm EXACTLY the same as you - id want to be comfortable and practical but also feel nice! Personally I would wear cycling shorts that come to just above my knees (so my legs dont rub and im not having to keep pulling them down on my legs while walking), obviously comfortable, broken in trainers, and then a strappy vest top with a low-ish neckline and no sleeves rather than a tshirt . And then in the evening id wear a baggy cotton , short sleeved dress then comes just above the knee at night. im sure you will have an amazing time and you're beautiful anyway, with or without makeup/hair done, Lots of love from the Uk, Alice xxxx

Aww, the paper doll is so cute ❤! It's perfectly ok to wear jeans ,but being so hot and humid, linen pants and flowy skirts or dresses are much more comfortable. Nights are hot too in August ...
Disinfecting wipes is a must for me and Lysol miniature spray . And some all over the body wipe is a must as well u can clean ur hands face w them I always make sure to pack Tylenol as well and other over the counter meds but I mean I go over a month so that’s why have fun
Everyone says no jeans and baseball caps bc it’s a big sign you’re not from Europe and there is bigger chance to be targeted by pickpockets.
Very true when I travel I try to blend in not look like a tourist 😅
How that could be? We in Europe do ware jeans and baseball caps. There is another reason for not wearing jeans in Europe during the summer and its heat 😊

I think the joggers might be good for at night, and the body suits are so versatile but just be careful with that because you don’t want a weggie while walking!
also the baseball cap/jeans is more of a way to tell you’re American which means you’re a likely target for pick pocketing and or tourist traps :/
Love the linen pants but don’t think you need all the colours. Maybe just black and white and then you have more room for some light sundresses. I don’t recommend the bodysuits. It gets so hot you don’t want fabric sticking to you everywhere. Tank tops will be great. For churches you need to cover your shoulders so just make sure you have a scarf with you. For all that walking i recommend Birkenstock sandals (or similar). The other ones are too flat I think.

In Italy they still 'dress up' to go out in public. They wear slacks, trousers, pants vs jeans (just like the first 4 pairs you had in the video) I think sundresses with one light coat that you can pair with everything will be good. Get some good walking sandals and nice flats. Should do perfectly 😊

Suggest different shoes unless the walking is actually strolling, then tennis shoes might be ok. My preference would be for a KEEN type sandal. Linen is always good, despite the wrinkles, in hot humid climates. Avoid polyesters and nylon fabrics, ugh. Leave the jewelry at home. When I travelled to Italy I used a crossbody bag and kept the opening in front of me. You will need a head covering for Vatican and other churches. It could double as a wrap for cool nights. What an exciting thing to plan for.

I recommend not going with body suits as they can be very uncomfortable to walk long distances, having a sports bra and light tee shirt help with cooling off and comfort
oh that's so exciting! i love travelling. i've been to both Italy and Greece. very lovely countries and great to visit. the food, the culture, the history, the views, it's just so enjoyable in my opinion. i would think it will be hot in that period, but as you said a bit cooler at night.
hehe, you can definitely wear jeans in general, but for that period i would say pack light clothes that are comfortable. you'll most likely walk a lot so you have to be comfortable. I would pack light and airy clothes, maybe a cardigan for the cooler temperature. i would take those linen pants with me, maybe in that tan or cream colour, and a darker colour. a sundress or 2 sounds great, with some sandals - and don't forget sunglasses. i for one would not recommend the nike shoes, especially the high tops. i personally like wearing knitted sketchers in one colour when i travel. they are so breathable and are so comfy, especially for constant walking and it's easy to take them off or put them on if you need to in the airport for example. your plane outfit is great! I love it. i usually try my best to keep clothes wrinkle free by rolling them, and taking them out as soon as i get to the hotel. depending on your hotel, you can go with the laundry service so that you have no worries. I hope you have the loveliest of time there! Wish you a safe travel and hope you have a great time.

I also think you should add a light kimono style cardigan or light shirt style jacket maybe in Black or Camel colour.
I usually only take 1 jeans with me on holidays where it's warm, only as an "emergency" pants if there is a chance of a cold night. During the day, if the sun is hot and you'll be walking all the time, do NOT wear the jeans because your legs will overheat and it'll feel very uncomfortable 😅

I took jeans to italy! Lol don't wear white in greece. Wear a top with sleeves to the Vatican or any church in italy. I think we caught some rain in italy in August. Take good comfy shoes. Take things u can use multiple ways n look out for laundry if u don't pack enough. Don't over pack! I do lol n it sucked. How long are you going for? Definitely check the weather. Its not hot like tx

Maybe pack a long sleeve linen button up blouse just in case! You could tie it around your waist or wear it over one of the sleeveless bodysuits!
I say ditch the blue pants and the striped shirt, wash a pair of pants and a shirt in the sink and get an extra pair of shoes 😂 I used to was shirts like that in college sometimes

Do you have packing cubes? You can find them many places, including Amazon of course and you can really fit several pieces of clothing into packing cubes, that then zip up and fit nicely into your carry on. That way you can bring more clothing options if you like!! Your trip sounds amazing!!

I get anxiety traveling in the US. Let alone overstay. I’m just a homebody but I’m missing out probably. Not drying your hair will be a nice break - I have STRAIGHT FLAT hair, opposite of you. Just thinking of what you should pack is giving me anxiety. I know it’s nice to feel dressed up for sure but people don’t realize they’re more of a target the more fancy rich they look. You’d never know my salary by how I dress. I think you should wear what makes you feel good and who cares if caps aren’t cool. You do you.

We travel once a year to the Middle East we stay over a month and I pack 6 suitcases 😂 ur brave just to do a carry one I couldn’t 😂
I would recommend BIRKENSTOCK Sandals honestly they go well w everything I can’t do flats so I like they form to my arches
My hubby and I love wearing adidas boots they are the most comfortable tennis out there I can’t wear nikes
I pack jeans and yoga pants I don’t wear shorts when I go to the ME which is some what annoying but that’s one thing I can’t wear when we are around family. Which I’m ok I understand and I make sure to take blouses that cover up my chest area . Even though I’m Dubai u can wear pretty much everything I take shorts but once we make it to my hubby’s family jeans and leggings 😂 and I make sure to wear long shirts to cover my behinds in leggings . Now that we have a baby it’s more stressful packing 😂 so we each get a 50pound suitcase and then the other 3 suitcases are for gifts and other things we might need and I pack a bunch of snacks and different Mexican foods like tortillas and spices to take for my family Mexican dried peppers as well . We leave from Houston even though we live in San Antonio bc it saves us to have to fly to Houston then Dubai so one flight can be over 15 houses then we have a lay over and then 3 more hours so we always wear
compression socks it’s a must for us it will help you a lot I even wear them during our vacation part of our trip while we are walking around the city .

Have you considered cotton camisoles and cotton undies instead of the body suits?
The body suits are good for evenings but during the the day your lady parts might get sweaty and uncomfortable. 😳
Just wear your clothes as in Texas because in Greece and Italy it's hot during the day and the evenings it won't cool down much. maybe 10 degrees Fahrenheit difference. Linnen and viscose silk type loose dresses (also a working dress) are perfect in the evening with a pair of slipppers.The high sneakers are too hot to wear. I love your travel outfit. On your way back I see you for a coffee at Amsterdam lol😁 Next week I am going to Italy and for me only fresh and light clothing... and some bikinis!

Hi you sweet soul I just wanted to let you know that Italy is hot also at night as in Texas. I live here in Italy ❤️🇸🇪🇮🇹✌️ and this year it's extra hot so pack silk, cotton and linen. I'd pack large dresses and skip the pants to be able to "vent"..🤣😅😘. Please be careful and awak. Buon viaggio sweet lady. ❤️

The flat shoes will not be comfortable to walk in all day! All the nikes you showed will not be comfortable due to the bottom being so flat! I recommend a cute pair of running shoes!
