You mentioned the clay bead project at the beginning of the year. Do you have a link to the lesson or directions? I’m very intrigued! I teach third grade in California and love to do community building, our class is a family type things at the start.
I also hate anchor charts. I usually make them after a lesson and then they just...get recycled. I'm getting more into slides.
Phew 😅 I’m glad I’m not alone in that. I just haven’t found them as useful lately. There is a time and place for them but all and all I’m a HUGE slides girl too!!
How do you ladies get the cute slides
@@sophiastewart8089 I don't care if they're cute, I just make sure they're clear, organized and easy to teach from.
Thank you for your helpful videos. It provides great information and I love how you balance your personal life.
You’re the best!! Thanks for saying that & watching. Happy to share anything & everything!
For the pencil sharpener upgrade to the teacher pro or school pro. I have that one and it’s lasted me years. That extra $15 is well worth not buying it again. Plus they have a 10 year warranty. I got mine on sale for $30.
Oh awesome to know!! Thank you for this recommendation!
Yes 🙌🏾 schools have budgets!!!! Let’s spend that money. I spend my school budget every year too!
RIGHT! I know every school is different but I feel like no one talks about this! Tap into this resource if it's available to you!
You can get most of this cheaper by going to back to school sales. The expos and flair pens are on sale at Walmart for under 10. The markers are less than 2. Gluesticks are a must.
Good to know! We can't use our budget money in store, only online. I'll have to look if they're still on sale online! Thanks!!
I used the Take Note dry erase markers last year. They were great. The felt pens didn't seem to last as long as the Flair pens, but they worked well.
Oh yay! I'm glad to hear that. I'm anxious to try them!!
Thank you for sharing, You gave me food for thought. I work in a Catholic School in Connecticut and I o not get a school budget and therefore everything I purchase I have to do on of pocket. With that being said there are many things I just can't do. We can't do Donors Choose oran Amazon Wish List. Nonetheless I did see some things that I may consider. Alicia from CT
Hi Alicia! That is tough needing to purchase so much out of pocket. I hope you're able to accept donations from parents! Happy to share ideas. Thanks for watching!
Can you share where you bought the clear drawers that hold crayons and markers/scissors/glue, etc. They both look wonderful! I would love to get for my room.
Hi Kim! I bought them from TJ Maxx last year, so that's not super helpful... but I would definitely recommend checking out your local TJ Maxx if you have one!
@@lifewithmrsleet3708 thanks! I will do that!
Wow! If only I could have a budget. I have to get my own stuff which sucks! Great video.
That totally stinks! What a huge expense you have to absorb. I hope you're able to accept donations or share amazon wishlists or something of that sort to help the burden of the cost!
Do you find that anything you buy that is not consumable you are responsible to leave for the school.? We have to do that for our PTO funds given to us.
Yes! That is definitely an expectation. The only thing I would be able to bring with me If I were to move schools would be anything I purchased myself.

Why in the USA do teachers have a budget to buy supplies for the children? Don’t they provide themselves? In Italy each student has to buy what is necessary. Thanks for your reply
Hi Silvia! Thanks for asking, teachers don't have to budget to buy supplies for their students across the US. Since I'm lucky that our school has a decent budget it is expected that we have supplies for students who many not be able to afford to provide supplies themselves. Hope that helps!
Are you in the US?
Yes! I teach in Maine!
