You'll learn that things don't always happen on your time. Custodial staff are responsible for a lot of stuff. This sounds like miscommunication from your admin.
I totally agree, sometimes when we’re frustrated it’s easy to blame the first person we see or think of. I appreciate all that our custodial staff does for our school and already after a long day I was just very frustrated.

You are very lucky that you got your key and are allowed in. Most schools won’t let you in until August 1st the earliest
