"These games are meant to be chill". We play Harvest Moon differently :P
Haha is your Harvest Moon experience INTENSE?
oh man day 1 and getting 10k gold? yes sign me UPPPP
@@TheGamingShelf yeah, what i like from HM series is, i can play hardcore đ.
And it can be played as casual to
I feel this in my soul.
I feel you on a completely spiritual level. Already finessing some big money
1:19 trying to pick up the flower. I believe it happened to everyone.
Shh you didnât see that đ
@@TheGamingShelf sadly it happens to me every time i play the game and sometimes in game day by in game day like i just forget it can't be picked up
@@JohnnyYeTaecanUktena lol same
I miss the rival marriages. I loved being invited to Anne and Cliff's wedding. Felt more personal, like you're rooting for your friends. (i also may or may not be purposely triggering their events)
Well it does feel more real that not every single person is only open to the playerâs romantic advances. Also gives a sense of life to the town.
I've read that they removed it because the Japanese audience did not like it but us in the west love the drama and conflict
Same. đ
Hoping they offer it as DLC.
@@alexandrac6177 Better be free dlc as it was part of the original game and shouldâve been included in the remake from day one.
A few minutes in and I already like the revamp on the characters in the remake than the old one. Though I still prefer most of the character designs (art) in the old one, the characters in the remake feels more alive, they have more personalities than before, and you can see that with just a few dialogues.
Gameplay-wise, nothing much has changed, though I like the quality of life changes. Well, the original was old so that's understandable.
It's weird, I feel the nostalgia, but this game also feels brand new.
Well put! Glad to hear youâre liking it too.
I disagree somewhat. they completely changed grays personality, to be less offensive whatever that means. (he was a tsundere before, that was his character) well they fixed that "problem" now he's just forgettable and doesn't leave any impression at all.
I think ann was suppose to be a tomboyish girl? the portraits and personalities from the OG are now like looking at two very different characters. thats the price for better looking art I guess, but they come off sort of bland now as a result.
I didn't have any issue with the game play
you're entitled to your opinion, no matter how wrong it may be
One thing that disappoints me is no rival marriages. I really wanna see them return
MysticMagickDreamer They removed the rival marriages because the Japanese audience did not like that feature from the original.
@@ashleymariah95 ah I see.
Wait they aren't????!
Why the hell did the japanese not like rival marriage?
@@emperium108 they prefer harem
I remember playing the PS1 version to death when I was like 12 or 13 years old. Hard to believe it's basically been 20 years since then... My copy should be arriving in the mail today.
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it.
i got this game 3 days ago, it is my first harvest moon/story of seasons game ever. let me tell you that im addicted as hell i love it so much! cant stop playing!
The only thing that bothers me is that the characters look like underaged children in the revamped one and that they removed recipe-less cooking.
Love it when you made a "failure"đ
Yea thats what i like the most. The recipe-less cooking. I can cook normal pizza. But add pineapple and mushroom make it special and still comes out as pizza but more special. Youâll surely win in cooking contest that way. Ahhh i miss playing this game in my gameboy colored.
Love it! Been playing these since I was a kid. Definitely hope they remake Animal Parade or put Trio of Towns on the switch.
Yeah, Trio of Town probably their best Harvest Moon currently. Too bad its not port to Switch.
I would ToT for the Switch! đ
omg yes! ap/tot would just be perfect :)
A Wonderful Life remake would be an instant buy for me, second would be Animal Parade
@@enricomiguelrequilman6000 well well well. Now here it is.
The only harvest moons I wanna see remade now are A Wonderful Life, and the original SNES version
Innocent Life is great too
A wonderful life is just amazing
i want magical melody đ
A Wonderful Life was my first and still my favorite farming game.
I recently play a Wonderful Life again and got reminded of how annoying the running sound in that game. Other than that, it was a wonderful game.
It's actually a remake of GBA's Friends of Mineral Town. So any changes it had from PS1 BTN to GBA FoMT also carries here on the remake.
Thanks for clarifying! Was there anything that I said was new that wasnât?
@@TheGamingShelf I think everything new you said is actually new on this remake, so that part is fine haha. Well, the changes from PS1 BTN to GBA FomT weren't that game changing in the first place. Mostly are extras or making playing on GBA much easier than PS1.
Ah okay, thanks đ
There wasnt a time limit in the gba version
So basically, They're Remaking the Remake Version of Harvest Moon Back to nature?
I love love LOVE the QoL stuff, the new characters and the new graphics and art designs... If only they didn't remove experiment cooking and animal sickness/death. You might say that removing animal sickness/death is a plus but not for me. The animal sickness/death was a reminder for me to be better since the only reason why an animal would get sick was because you 1. Forgot to feed it multiple times and 2. left it out in the rain.
Also, I wish they didn't add the whole "Hearts Cap". I hate it. It almost made me dislike the game entirely.
Its a good Remake but I'll definitely go back to playing BtN even without the QoLs
I played more friends in mineral town for the GBA, and they actually made some of the changes mentioned for that game as well!
Lets get real, the original is Back to Nature. This is a remake of the remake.
True! I actually never played the GBA Friends of Mineral Town so most of my comparisons are from the PS1 version.
Ngl I prefer Back to Nature. The 3D style is almost alike.
Uhhhh. Actually I thought HM64 Was first, then "back" to nature, then the gba. Now this.....right? Because 64 was the same game just a few different features from back to nature
@@Spookytooth92 Well, not entirely true. HM64 was first but the people had different relations, characters, etc. (I. E. Karen was the daughter of Gotts and their family lead the vineyard). BtN gave them the touch of what we know today. So, I would say FOMT is a Remake of BtN which is based on HM64.
Now I want them to port the GameCube Harvest Moon games lol oh! And the wii one's! I'd KILL to play Tree of Tranquility and Animal Parade on my switch! :D
I think the remake is better,I remember the original being hell with the spaces
It's kinda sad how they removed rival marriages tho but I guess some people will find it weird how there's gay marriage but only straight couples get married.
That's an interesting point actually
I can finally play as a boy and marry my hubby! For a long time harvest moon fan (now story of seasons fan) I cannot say how happy I am. I just hope I can still have a kid, I'd really want to adopt daughter for my husband and I on our farm. Really excited!!!
Grpwing up my parents wasn't able to spend alot on games so i haven't ever played the Harvest Moon games. But a month ago I bought Friends of Mineral Town and i love this game so much. I have played none stop. I am super excited for Pioneers of Olive town. It looks like it will be even more fun since we can decorate and move buildings around.
Thanks for sharing! Iâm glad youâre having fun with it đ And yes Olive Town looks really great.
Personally, i don't mind the graphics. This game has some incredible gameplay value!
i love cute chibi character models not gonna lie. im trying to determine if i shoild wait for a sale or not.
The graphics are nowhere near as polished compared to Animal Crossing New Horizons, however they do seem a bit higher quality overall than I expected. Also, looking at the original's psuedo-3D pixelated sprites, this one is a big step up. I am guessing it looks just fine in hand-held mode.
It almost looks better in handheld since itâs not stretched out over a big TV. No real resolution or frame rate loss.
It's a remake of the snes game, which as far as I know does not use model-based sprites. The original spritework looks great, even today.
@@LS-qs9ju So Friends of Mineral Town for the snes is a totally different game, then despite it being named the exact same thing?
Lover of the original (actually preferred over Stardew Valley but might just be nostalgia goggles). I think the issue I have with the graphics that I hope I can disable is the....like, faux depth of field where it seems they blur my peripheral. Seems to be why the screenshots look awful but the game looks mostly great in motion outside of the blurring. I guess I also don't like the Nendroid/Bratz Babies look but it's not too bad
Great review though!
I used to put hundred of hours into the GBA version of this game but I'm not finding this remake to be interesting enough for me. Aside from a few new interesting features like same sex marriage and new NPCs, I find this remake to be lackluster content wise. Was hoping they would go extra mile since switch is a powerful console.
I adored Back to Nature on the PS1, the original Mineral Town game. I was hooked on it in middle school. I can't play any other farming game because it isn't Mineral Town. That said, I'm super excited for all the QoL they put into this remake, I like the soft and simple graphics, and the different character art has grown on me. Seeing your stamina, ground tiles and tool hits, standing inside crops, automatic putting animals outside and inside, marriage choice... They definitely took note of classic fans' little issues as well as taking hints from modern farmers like Stardew Valley. It's shameful Natsume took away the Harvest Moon name from these devs, but this game is still the Harvest Moon I remember and will always want.
Glad to hear youâre enjoying it đ
Hate to be that guy, but the original Mineral Town game is Harvest Moon 64.
@@abohsukampret Ah yes, that's true! On a technicality then the version I played first and fell in love with was BTN on PS1, and I found out about HM64 via emulation. Just something about BTN I liked more, but back then I was sensitive to the differences in 64. I should give it another shot!
@@Bevveh Yeah, I grew up with BtN too. I remember my first playthrough... proposed to Karen on early Fall Year 2, and she said no because I haven't upgraded ANYTHING (I was such a noob. Lol) so I worked my socks off the whole second half of that year. Good times.
With that being said, I think I'm gonna go with Ran (the revamped Ann) this time. I really like her new look.
I believe the remake is definitely better than original, despite of no rival marriage. And it's obvious better because XSEED is the one who published this, not Natsume.
No rival marriage kill me im so sad
I think that the sounds, graphics and soundtrack are kinda intentionnaly bad. They are really in the mood of classic harvest moon games such as the og fomt or Magical Melody and im quite happy they went this way. It brings back sooo much memories!
the old one feels so realistic in terms of story than the present in my opinion
That had some soul to it
I'm okay with the running sound effect. Getting one next month
I actually always really liked the events where you didn't have to do a lot because, at least in earlier Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons games, it brings your friendship level up higher with everyone in the town that you talk to during the event. I haven't played the Friends of Mineral Town remake, but I would assume from how it has the same events that it would work the same way.
Been playing it for a week now and it really brings me back to playing magical melody on the game cube for hours as a kid. Would love to see a magical melody remake or a new installment in the series that adds new things to the game. Was worried about the art style at first but I grew to really like it. I also really love Stardew valley and itâs arguably better, but this is a remake of an old game, not a new one. And Iâve already logged maybe 700+ hours on Stardew and Iâm bored with it lol.
Not the nostalgia talking because I for one love remake, provided that it is worth the praise. Of course, this isn't all that bad, it just didn't really live up to my hype because Trio of town had so much, I especially love the fact that my child looked like my spouse and I was hoping it'd take a little from the RF entries with more dialogues (or at LEAST three for each location/after heart event) but nope, still the same old... One... Dialogue... (I can't for the life of me remember if the old one had diff dialogues tho đ€)
But that isn't to say I didn't enjoy the game, did I have fun? Yes. Did I like my family and the new look? Absolutely! But is it better?... Well... There are improvements... So I guess that's a yes... But it could have been so much more...đ
It's funny trio of towns stressed me out so much. Lol
@@amberl8343 us: trying to manage time to keep jumping from town to town before the store close but also try to memorise who is where at what time đđđ
Just a little correction many are confused. The first installment of mineral town as we know it here is harvest moon 64.
The second installment was released 6 months later on playstation called harvest moon "back" to nature (the back should make it obvious it's not the first installment folks)
Then the gba one we know was made.
And now this. The 4th remake of the same game. All of them great and brought in a lot of fans to the series. I like them all. I play them all. And if they remake it again I'll play that one too. I literally been playing the same game my whole life and theirs no other game installment or series like that to me. Maybe some of you are the same. Maybe not, if you haven't tried it. Spend a cold winter inside one year and try it. Great memories
The town in Harvest Moon 64 is called Flowerbud Village, not Mineral Town.
They are two different towns with different character relations.
I am none of the above; an old Harvest Moon fan that never played the old game and here to see what Mineral Town fans have to say about it both games just for the heck of it
Loved this video. 1st time finding your channel and it was this. Thanks for making it and here's a like and sub for you. Keep it up!
Still loving the music of this game, nothing's changed since its release in GBA. Will hit the store to buy this one.
I loved the GBA version,it was one of my favorite games on that system..I am so excited to play this game,it looks really good..I played HM Light of Hope, and it just wasn't the same Harvest Moon I enjoyed..also IMO the ones on the 3DS weren't much better..this one looks good and I'm looking forward to playing it..this is a must buy game for me đ
Haha Iâm one of those people who just watches lol since Iâm not really a sim fan but great video as always! I donât think itâs for me still but I definitely get the appeal!
I appreciate you coming to watch as always đ
Yesterday around 1pm i purchased this game underestimating it a bit, with very low expectation...
Then.. right now, at 3am on the next day, I have not stopped playing it yet.. first week of summer already
Haha welcome to Story of Seasons!
i hope they also remake the tales of two towns, it got a lot of potential but it was a bit plain and slow paced in nds :') and can you review runefactory 4?
I really loved the concept of ToTT and the abundance of nature present in that game. Glad someone shares the same sentiment as me and hoping it gets a remake. My fingers are crossed
@Ina Sya haven't played Trio of Towns yet but what made me like ToTT was the conflict and rivalry between the 2 towns and the feeling that you got when you complete the tunnel and restore the relationship of the 2 towns, boy did it felt rewarding.
I just really want to see a redesign of the bachelors and bachelorettes (even tho Kamil/Cam and Licorice/Reina already got onw) and what they would do with the environment with a newer more powerful console
I think I'll get to play tomorrow! This video is what I was looking for. Lolol I played a lot of Harvest Moon games (before it became SoS, about that time is when I didn't play video games for awhile). Your review sounds pretty fair and I'm excited for the game! Mineral Town was my absolute fav. I spent many all nighters tryna get married and have a nice farm and stuff. I was 10 when this came out, and had already played the boy version. Same with pokĂ©mon. So when both pokĂ©mon and harvest moon introduced girl characters I was over the moon đ„° So I can only guess how excited some are about them getting rid of the silly 'best friend' thing. Ik at the time, even that was pretty surprising for a video game. It sounds mild, but... i mean.. only at the new millenia, basically, did we get girl characters to play as. đ And just now did animal crossing include actual different skin colors, not just a tan. We getting there. đ đ
So, this game holds a lot of nostalgia, and thats also why I'm gonna say I like the graphics. I want them to give the same feel as the old games and this works! I'm sure this game might be that same nostalgic favorite, especially for any gay kids who can marry whichever character they want now without having to play as a different gender!
Iâm glad this video was helpful and I hope you enjoy playing! đ
i'm in the first group of fans! :D can't wait to play this game tomorrow!!
Awesome! If you enjoyed the original you'll love this.
town villa is building one more house on the land you see in 3:11 , you will get new home there but you can't upgrade, it's will be lvl 1 house forever.
I really like Harvest moon games. Only played a few of them. Including the GB one. I never played a modern one though. So maybe time to give them another go.
Just make sure you stick with Story of Seasons, modern âHarvest Moonâ titles are a farce
The doremon one just Eh. Try Rune Factory 4 on the switch or Trio of Towns on DS.
I get serious stardew valley vibes out of this and I love it. Picked up stardew valley because I was obsessed with the reeeaaly old harvest moon, but I think I might give this new one a try now
Love Stardew!! The fishing still gets me ! I cant wait to play this game !
Looks nice. I've played a lot of the SNES, 64 version and BTN so I should give it a try.
Iâm watching this while playing and right when you mentioned finding power berries while digging, I found a power berry by digging! What luck!
Haha perfect đ
Thank you for your review! I played my first Harvest Moon game on PSP and have been quite disappointed with the series after that. But your review has helped me make the decision on getting Mineral Town! Canât wait to get my hands on a copy ^.^
I would also give Save the Homeland a try! Thereâs a remaster available for PS4. One of the better games in the series.
Does your tools change it's looks for every level it was upgraded?
They do!
Oh my gosh! I didn't know they even remade this! I used to play the PS1 version for HOURS as a teen! I just bought this on the Xbox Series X and can't WAIT to play again â€ïž
So #2 here - started with Stardew Valley and fell in love with it. Around 400 hours loved it. I probably will rebuy it again for the switch when the physical version comes out, and replay it again.
Animal Crossing isn't the same but is a great game and I still enjoy it, since the original game.
I feel like the last Harvest Moon (Light of Hope) was really bad. The game story mode was probably 2 pages of text and I didn't realize the game was ending whenever it did.
This review was good, I watcher another one from another CZcamsr who basically wanted more likes to get more videos ... on the review! /shrug. But this was detailed and actually made me feel better about getting the game.
How does this game compare to Rune Factory 4 (Special)? I'm debating on whether if I should buy this game or RF4.
RF4 adds in dungeons and combat whereas this has none of this and building up your farm is the main focus. It would depend on which you prefer!
Thanks for the review. I'm interested in trying a more recent title and not sure about A Wonderful Life.
I was dithering on whether to get this but your review just convinced me to get it! I recently got into Stardew Valley but felt somewhat overwhelmed so itâll be nice to have a more chill and nostalgic farming game to alternate with
Yeah Stardew Valley has A LOT to do. This is a lot more simple and chill but still fun.
Thank you so much for this review I'll be buying the PS4 version for Christmas or birthday this year!
Iâm glad you found it helpful đ I hope you have fun!
@@TheGamingShelf thanks I hope I will too
Loved this review!
Thank you!
You forgot the best quality-of-life change for the remake:
You can walk through the crops. No more will the middle crop languish away.
The remake of this game is definitely better. I replayed the GBA version not too long ago, and everything was so pixely and small. Glad to see this on a bigger screen honestly with better-ish graphics?
BUT if they remade A Wonderful Life, OH MAN, they would really have to up their graphics game since A Wonderful Life is already in 3d!!!
Hopefully they remake itttt!!!
And finding cursed tool in GBA version is soooooo muuuuuuuch Painfulll
I'm pretty sure the original on GBA didn't have a time limit, I know the psp version as a 3 year limit. Could be wrong but I restarted the origina GBA and I don't remember it mentioning a 3 year limit
After a lot of research, this review finally made me decide on buying this on PS5. Especially the sentence comparing it to the PS1 version. I played PS1 Harvest Moon (Back to Nature) ~20yrs ago & I just want the closest possible remake that exists to re-live that nostalgia (& get that platinum trophy!) đ thank You
Great review! Thank you.
Youâre welcome!
This is the equivalent of fire red or leaf green to red/blue for Pokemon. They absolutely nailed quality of life changes as well as updating graphics. One of my favorite games as of late
I just feel like the time passed by too quickly and I have to rush through everything and cant seems to relax and enjoy what I wanted to do
I felt the same way. Just keep going! When you upgrade your tools and youâre able to cool to restore stamina youâll eventually feel like you have too much time. Trust me because Iâm there lol
Having the nature sprites helps a TON, especially with watering/harvesting plants. I never made friends with them in the GBA version, and I just tried it in the remake and I have no idea how I survived on the GBA one without them lol.
I've played HM: Back to Nature, HMFOM and HMMFOM. And tbh, I don't think I've had enough. Definitely gonna get this game after this.
Its also available at Steam right?
Yes! Will be available on PC too.
im curious are you going to pick the newest addition to the franchise that is coming out in March of next year or no?
Definitely! Olive Town looks great. I'm hoping to get an early copy so I can make a review for you guys đ
@@TheGamingShelf sweet i am planning in picking up that game as well but I plan in watching your review so I have a basic idea what I am getting into XD spoilers or not
1:17 you can actually end the game earyly in the GameBoy FoMT version too if you keep hitting him with a tool because I think it kills him
LOL thatâs amazing đ
That sounds like the beginning of HM DS. You try to attack with your tools but your dog mauls Thomas.
Did they entirely remove the rival marriages tho? I know rival events do happen (JP version at least), but from what I know, rivals won't marry if your affection level towards any of the parts is higher than that part towards the romantic partner in question.
Since I've gotten super friendly with absolutely everyone, they just don't progress (as in, they like you more than the rival/rival likes you more than the marriage candidate), I may start another save at one point pretty much ignoring everyone to see if it happens but... damn I just tend to at the very least greet them so it might be hard.
From what I understand they did remove those :(
i hope harvest moon a wonderful life will be remake too
Do I need to wait 8pm for the bell to ring automatically?
Just got this game last weekend and while it is slow, I'm having fun with it so far. But I'm super upset to find out there are no NPC marriages. I've never played one of the Harvest Moon/SOS games before where other characters married, and I was psyched to see that happen. I mean, come on, the romance cutscenes between the pairs are still in the game, and it's obvious that they have chemistry and are meant to pair up if you don't marry one of them. Really sad that won't happen in this game.
Would have been nice! Hopefully in the new game theyâll add it back.
I'm so stoked to get my copy! My first game was Magical Melody, so I'm excited to finally play FoMT. I've had every installment of HM/SoS after MM, and it feels like it's been forever since a new installment. Stardew Valley was just enough to tide me over, but I have a hard time believing it's better than this will be. I guess I'll find out soon enough!
I think there was just more to do in Stardew Valley, but this is still really great.
The Gaming Shelf Thatâs totally fair
Personally I wish that they had a retro graphics option
I have the game and itâs super fun but my big problem with it is how the day go by so fast like overtime does it go slower because I think the other harvest moon games I played the day wasnât that fast
Yeah I felt the same way, but after you improve tools and can make things in your kitchen youâll feel like you have more time.
5:56 about the villa. This thing does exist even in original game (Harvest moon : FoMT, i never touch BTN). But it is very expensive haha...
Great review!
Thanks Jeff!
Are there still the bug noises up in the mountains during the summer? It sounds similar to the cicada noises in animal crossing.
I donât think so. I have to say that sound effects overall are really lacking in this game. Definitely the biggest aspect that could have been improved.
I havenât played the original but I wanted to play this one bc I can finally be a lesbian in game lmao
I hope the next story of seasons game will use mature models and not chibi models like this. I still like the game for nostalgia though
"Mature" models? lol
Agreed! My favorite style was from Save the Homeland. Not sure why they went away from that look.
The Gaming Shelf Never actually played save the homeland but the style is similar to leaf valley right? And i think they only went with these chibi models so it would fit for the remake of the original.
Wait, what's the original game you're comparing the remake to? I don't remember mineral town having a time limit (there was even a collectible you could only get after about 50 years of marriage!) and the crazy expensive town villa was still a thing back then too.
But I loved this video! I'm scared of ruining my nostalgia/love for the game since it was my first harvest moon game and it holds a place very close to my heart. The video really does help ease my fear, and I'll probably pick it up on steam while my switch is being repaired :D
Iâm mainly comparing it to Back to Nature, which was essentially the same game. After posting this review Iâm learning that there may have been more differences than I realized đ
@@TheGamingShelf Oh! I would've never thought to compare it to back to nature just because of the name difference. (I also knew nothing about that game)
I looked it up on fogu and I'm surprised how many things were similar! I can see why you chose that game. It IS the true original probably X3
for me, i cant stand stardew valley, only plays about 2 hours then i got bored quicky, deff not for me.
but story of seasons is where my kind of farming genre be, i love this game.
The time limit to get the farm back in working order again had already been removed in the GBA game.
The only thing i hate about both of these 2 versions is the baby will never grow up even after 50 years
been playing fomt since I was 10, i bought a switch just to play this one. i subbed btw âđ»
Thank you Robyn đ
@@TheGamingShelf you're welcome, hope your channel will grow bigger soon.
do we still need to dig to level 255 to mine Teleport Stone?
Thanks never got that far so Iâm not sure. I always ran out of stamina.
Was going to sub before you said Stardew valley was better.. No sir. No sir.. That was a good game but it felt like it tried to cram too much into it and kind of half flushed out all of it. This one is focused and polished to a nice shine.
Sorry to lose you as a subscriber, but I hope you enjoy the game! Itâs a fun one.
Thank you, I'm so tired of hearing Stardew is better. Yuck.
@@yelsahblah3270 But its so true. This game has soooo many fake reviews and cost so much.
Stardew Valley is so much better, It wouldn't exist without this game for sure, but it surpassed by far its inspiration, I'm saying this as a man who grow up playing Harvest Moon Back to Nature in ps1.
SV is overrated anyways
I really have missed the people of Mineral Town. đ
Iâm shocked. People donât like these visuals??? I just started playing and I hadnât really watched any critical stuff from it yet⊠I thought it was super beautiful! It doesnât look like a mobile game at all! It looks like a fully realized remaster. People expect way too much sometimes I feel like. It has charm and heart and itâs cohesive. Itâs much better than what they did to ruby and sapphire IMO. The style suits the game much better than the more realistic titles.
Agreed! I think itâs super cute đ
I love the visuals I switched over from stardew valley to this and pioneers of olive town this one is better however because I prefer the cute chibi 3D graphics over pixel art. And I think itâs pretty true to the gba game just more modernized
The spritework in the original is so beautiful... I have a hard time accepting the new visual style
Thomas hat looks pretty loooongg
The bro and bro moments is urrrggh. Hahahah
Solid review, can't wait to play this game aaaaaaaaaa
Thank you! Itâs really fun and chill. Enjoy it when it releases.
My first harvest moon game was tree of tranquility itâs so sad that marvelous are not gonna port it on the switch
Probably not worth the effort unfortunately :/
I love how they donât change the theme song
I love how unbiased he is in commenting to the game
Thanks Lindsay and I appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave a nice comment đ
Althought graphics is better, the memories of Harvest Moon & FoMT is best. Beside, just a little bit things are new, the rest of story as the same. The special of farming game is arrange and decorate the farm, this game don't update it. I will play it again if the game can arrange farm like SOS and SOS Trio of Town on 3DS.
Okay, a review from a person who buys consoles (from Sony to Nintendo) just to play farming simulation games: the music the new version almost made me cry. I have missed my childhood days so much. But, yes. I donât like the character visuals as much as the classic one. The older one was more sweet lol
What other farming sims have you enjoyed?
Thanks for being responsive! đ. I followed the Harvest Moon Line until âHarvest Moon: A New Beginningâ and I stopped right there. I sensed thereâs something going on. I went to âRune Factory:4â and have been checking out on XSeed/Marvelous since then. Thanks for making this video! Loved it!!
The sound fx are supposed to mimic the original game sound fx pretty closely :)
Oh interesting I didn't know that!
hey great video but im still hesitant, i really love back to nature so much (PS1), but from what i seen so far it's they are so lazy with this, even the rain has no sound... . Stardew Valley has already perfected the genre for me, is it worth it?
I have the same feeling with BTN, personally its my best harvest moon & this remake does seem terrible. My sister have this & she's complaining about all sorts of things. The game looks like it doesnt have a central direction & a lot of assets don't match well (e.g. Character portraits & background models are nice, but 3d character models & animation sucks, etc. etc.). It's as if the development has all been handed to interns, with little to no guidance.
Stardew is alright, but it's a different thing for me (it has combat & crafting mixed in with the formula) so I'd also love to get another purely farming & sim HM/SoS game to do better than BTN. Unfortunately, ever since BTN it's all been getting worse for that series..
Feel the same too. They fixed very few problems from HM FoMT. Thereâs still lack of elevators in the mines, and finding the stairs is still a pain in the butt. Fruits still need to be picked manually. Stardew Valley fixed any problem that were addressed in HM, including adding super useful automation like sprinklers. The only problem they both share is both canât have their children grown up, but bcs SV have a strong modding team they finally made it happen. 20 years of game gap but still lacking :/
I loved the harvest moon series from the start. After the split I enjoyed Story of seasons, especially trio of towns. Idk what it is but with this remake I constantly feel bored. Idk what to do, just random collecting stuff, watering, mining. I bet it's me don't get me wrong but I feel lost in this game. What do I do wrong?
I understand. Thereâs no real goal. Honestly I would try to upgrade your house and find a marriage partner. Thatâs how you âbeat the game.â And whatever activities catch your interest along the way are up to you :)
@@TheGamingShelf thank you for your nice reply! I watched your Olive town review and I wasnt thrilled either.. I'm really missing a game like that that covers ALL the aspects we love.. Especially the boring character development in Olive town threw me off..
If you haven't played Stardew Valley definitely check it out. Also, one of the more underrated Harvest Moon games, Save the Homelands, is on PS4 and really worth a look.
