I like the way that Aisling Duval is the only one looking off to the side like she doesn't know what's going on, but has spotted some sparkly shoes and a handbag on a sale!
Brian Willis looks like she got papped!
She reminds me of Lacus Clyne.
She's also way way younger than the other powers too at 25 years old. Everyone else is like 50+ up to 124 years in the case of Torval.
It's a pity her bonuses don't seem as attractive as the others. She seems to be much more diplomatic and passive, whereas everyone else is RAR!PEW!PEW! I guess they couldn't give the best looking one decent bonuses I guess otherwise everyone would be all over her.

Keep it up, Frontier! These expansions are GREAT!
If I may offer some constructive criticism though, my biggest gripe is the lack of presentation at the moment. Ships and cockpits don't vary much, missions don't vary much, walls of text make the game lack personality, and even here in powerplay, we finally have people, and they seem to be nothing more than cards on a screen.
For the amount of content and what we can do, this game is GREAT. But presentation helps to "Sell" purpose to why gamers do what they do, and without that, I often feel like I'm doing chores or studying instead of actually having an immersive experience with a game.
I know Elite: Dangerous is always evolving, and that's exciting. Just wanted to share my wants here. Keep up the good work! :)

Ive spent the last hour trying to find out how to help with combat expansion. I go to the system and the faction contact says I need to support in military strikes. How? I must be missing something because I don't see anything that show me these strikes that Im to help with. Ive wasted an hour going to every station and every planet in system hoping that some god damn thing jumped out of the nav menu but nothing.
Confusing and frustrating
Preparation is indeed the first step in taking control of a new star system but if you’re aligned with a faction that’s broke, you need to head over too the Control tab first and sort out earning some more CC.
Does your current rank give you a further lead with a given faction? E.G I am rank Earl in the Empire so do I have more rank points then with federation as a recruit?
PLEASE add some subtitles in every language.. i cant understand what i have to do when i play it

I just spent the afternoon in powerplay. I did cargo runs of 10 tons here and there and got paid 100 credits a ton. That was interesting. Then I moved on to combat. I killed 15 ships including three federal dropships and a python. For that I got a total reward of 1,500 credits. Wait? What? Huh??? I'm pretty much done with powerplay at this point. The rewards don't even cover the cost of fuel. What's the point?
It's not meant to be source of income. You're either meant to play the political game, and influence the map, or just earn your own stuff. Or alternate between the two.
Proxima Yes, I get that now. I was just a little shocked. Powerplay seems to be only meant to entertaining players that have already maxed out their ships and bank in regular play and so need a new goal to shoot for. It offers nothing new or different for newer players (just more cargo hauling and combat), and for no reward. I don't understand Frontier's logic in coming up with such a thing.
Riverboat Oh yeah, it does indeed. But I assume it's one of the things that Frontier intended to have in the game first thing, along with Wings and such. I would expect more newbie-friendly things shortly in the future.

It's hard to see what more can they really do. I think that their creative juice jar is empty. I play only for short burst at a time then go on to other games. That way I don't become bored.

Someone please tell me, does destroying ships 'opposed' to the systems 'controlling' *Power*, grant you reputation (REP) rank with the systems controlling *Power* - or both it's *Power* and (when applicable) 'exploited' Faction?
Also if in doing so, the other (opposing) *Power*'s reputation and/or Naval Rank decreases in light of the others gain.
And finally, wether or not one has pledged to a specific *Power* or not, for this to hold true.
First, When I downloaded the game I wondered, how can a little starship game be so large. now I wonder, how can this game be so tiny in file size.
so if I pledge to Zemina Torval who is apart of the empire. will I be hunted dwon if I go into A Lavigny-Duval's territory when ashe is also part of the empire?
So if you pledge for a power will you still be able to go to a different powers station or will you be shot? If this is true I feel like this will screw up alot of my trade runs...

Are the Powerplay Training Videos still current?
I still don't understand the power play thing, have only played solo around Eranin and there are 2 federations in PP and I cannot tell who I am aiding of the major powers when I take a mission, mainly been doing boom missions but the whole thing is confusing, none of the "agents" giving the missions out have anything that clearly (I am probably missing something) tell me which - I would like to stay neutral as I learn the game but gain favor with the federation for the Sol permit before I pledge as I need much practice dog fighting.
I have seen this for certain Systems ("Exploited by ..." ) what does this mean exactly? what is it's definition?
If they took so much time to bring some context to the grind, I don't wanna know how long we'll have to wait until planets are a thing.

I'm nervous that I'll screw up and make a mistake. Which power should I choose? (If at all? (I started on the 11th and don't know what to do with powerplay))

+Herogamer25 I've only been playing for about 4 weeks and finally bit the bullet and pledged to Empire but after a few days decided it didn't suit my playing style so I switched to Federation. I chose Hudson because I wanted to get into the combat side of things but I suck pretty badly at combat....lol. I mostly do exploration but the bonuses for the bounties when I get them is worthwhile.
I tend to do a lot of the Powerplay, mostly delivering resources and picking up intel which is a slow grind but everytime I try the combat method of Powerplay I get my ass handed to me on a platter.
I play on the XBox One too so might see you around some time?

Did this guy mention the farther from the home planet of the faction, the greater the cost to maintain it so when you get from say Rhea to Malgajiri it's no longer worth it to control.
I just downloaded the latest version of the launcher but when I run it it still says I need to download the latest version.
tried uninstalling, downloading and reinstalling three times now, still can't get into the launcher to update the game.
MrMartGonzo Go to the elite store website, log in, go to your downloadable products and download launcher from there.
Servers are down for the next few hours for the update.

If my save is gone too I'm not going to be pleased to say the least.

I reinstalled the launcher from the store like you said and it's re-downloading the game now.
If I do have to start again it's not so bad, I'd do a lot differently and make progress faster.
What happens when a power win
I just started the game and I have the Sidewinder ship. I am thinking of getting the Cobra. But first of all, I have this big problem in trying to get to the far side of the universe where it is owned by Aisling Duval. I want to later join her. I was planning on getting the Cobra in ana area controlled by Aisling Duval. I am to the far left of the universe and it will take me ages to get there. Also, I keep running out of fuel because some of the planet systems are uninhabited. If I get the Viper, a small fighter ship which has a very short range, then I will never be able to arrive in Aisling Duval's area. So, if I get this fighter craft, and I am in an area that is governed by enemies to her, then I am totally isolated and cut off. So, there is no point in me joing her if I am stuck at the other side of the universe. Any thoughts anyone?
You need to work more missions to kit your ship out with a better FSD and a fuel scoop (equals better range and unlimited fuel). Then scope out which star you're jumping to with the mnemonic OBAFGKM (oh be a fine girl kiss me) before you jump to them. They're the only stars you can scoop. If you don't know how to equip your ship for range or how to fuel scoop, look them up in tutorials on CZcams. That's all I can say.
George Morley Thanks for your response. As a matter of fact, my question now is redudant because I purchased the Cobra and upgraded it as you said. So, everyuthing is fine now. I was panicking at first because of being new to this game. Thanks again for your help and response.

+111RobinHood If you want to upgrade from your cobra to a better fighter ship, the Vulture is the way to go. I've destroyed Anacondas with relative ease

It would be better if the game even directly cloned EVE's Faction Warfare system, it'll work perfectly in E:D.
The problem I have with PP is that it's nothing new, you're doing all the same activities you were doing pre 1.3, but now a system is just telling you to do it in specific systems. PP doesn't actually introduce anything new mechanically/gameplay wise, it's a facade.
Suppose ill jump back into my generic orange cockpit and check this out sometime.
Exile 1 you can change the colour of your UI in the cockpit in the config files. Search how on google it will be one of the top results.

It is the Diamondback Explorer he sits in. Its the more battleworty version. It has one Class 3 slot and two class two. Its a little beast thats looks like a spaceship !

umCallum I have a fully upgraded Vulture. Its a solid ship and I recommend it. However since you currently have a Sidewinder, you should first upgrade to an Eagle, then to a Viper, and then to a Vulture.

So basically, if you're someone who wants to travel around different areas of controlled space, Powerplay isn't for you?
That's just how it comes across at least - That you're going to be fair game to be attacked freely unless you stick to your Power's area of the galaxy map. Would like to be wrong about that so I can get into it, but on the surface, it looks poorly suited to someone who wants to travel about.

I really don't like the 9/10 of the human galaxy automatically hating you with impunity part of powerplay, there should be neutral (not care), jealous (try and bribe you to join them) and hostile (attack on sight) powers determined by active borders and power ethos (goals and methods of action rock paper scissors style if need be) not just a load of unfriendly patrolling enemies that want to take down players in non-power areas with running/wanted being the only recourse.

yakza5 That's one of the strangest complaints I've ever heard for a game. It's not like the game is otherwise non-complicated with the amount of controls you need command of to properly fly a ship.
And nobody is stopping you from just flying around freely and attacking people like you could do beforehand. All this does is add options to other players...
