I watched the show, but never played any of the games, so you explained some things that didn't make sense.
Aha, I see now that the show had to be true to the game mechanics which is why the show did what it did regarding such things as instant "magic" healing and whatnot which are common video game tropes.
I might, or might not, play a Fallout game now. Maybe New Vegas since I'm mostly into RPGs.
Dude, if Benny's voice actor, Matthew Perry, was still alive- he was a big Fallout fan- he would have been great to see play an older Benny.

@@XeresKyle Can't. The fate of Benny would be up to the player. They can't say what his fate is without stepping on their own toes and committing to a route from the game.
Problem with that is benny dies in almost every scenario in the game.
The way Bethesda handles cannon (in Fallout and Elder Scrolls) has always been everything that can happen in previous games does happen whether or not the main antagonist was involved and the details of it will always be vague if it recalled by someone or written about in a lore book later. That way it doesn't really matter what path the player goes when it comes to planning out future games. Because of this, Benny is very likely dead by the time of the show if not by the hands of the Courier than someone else.

The vibe in the show is a little different than the games but it was a good show.
I will 420% take that good show haha I’m a fallout guy and man, I’m just the show is at least good (I think it’s great) cause as we all know, it’s rare a show can translate a loved game franchise

Talking about V.A.T.S. "Not once does the show elude to this in any shape, way, or form" he says, as he shows the slow motion shot of Coop firing a shot and the camera following the bullet, which is the in-show depiction of the V.A.T.S. system... something that is done more than once throughout the show... *slow clap for the researchers*
WatchMojo loves to put blatant errors/oversights into their videos in order to get people to comment "Hey! You got such-and-such wrong!" to drive up engagement. I'm guessing they included that line specifically to irritate people.
I think the slo mo shots are a reference to vats, but wouldnt coop need a pip boy to actually do vats?
Bruh vats has always been a pop-boy feature, and lore wise all it does is provide a clear view of your probability to hit any part of any target, so no, coop doesn’t have vats it’s not a superpower lol

I wish Bethesda would let Obsidian take charge of Fallout 5 since they are prioritizing the Elder Scrolls series over Fallout.
6:13 VATS is not a complete stop in Fallout 4, it's actually slow-mo like in the show..

@@ahuman7199 That's very true, however the tv show it's AFTER Fallout 4 and it's using assets from Fallout 4 (like the T60 / pip-boy/vault rooms/cryo chambers from 111). Therefore the 'VATS' has changed as well :P

And this pause or slowmo stuff, actually happen naturally. I mean nothing slowing down. The user just suddenly have a high-sense of movements and instinct and sharp eyesight

Now that Season 2 is heading towards New Vegas, sadly we can't get Mathew Perry to make a cameo as Benny (even in a flashback since he's most likely dead by the point of the show)
I hate to tell you this man. But we wouldn’t be able to get a cameo from Matthew Perry because he tragically died in real life.

If they have any of the fan favorite mutants, I'd love to see Fawkes! Although, I don't know how that would work, in a canonical sense.
This series is literally perfect to the games. I binged the whole series and cannot wait for season 2!

This is probably the best ever game-movie/tv adaptation ever made, well done everyone involved in the series!
Hopefully Lucy and The Ghoul will encounter a few radscorpions on the way to New Vegas. I don't think they are high enough level to handle a deathclaw.

@@HendorneEndohRoth I dunno. Even someone low level like Maximus was knocking him around while he was in the power armor. If he had time to prepare he could probably handle one, but if he was caught by surprise I think he might be in trouble.
@@donhoverson6348 Yeah, with preparation the The Ghoul should be able to take out a deathclaw. A surprise attack by a deathclaw would be a death sentence for anybody not completely overpowered.
I'm seeing so many people in the comments saying Cooper used V.A.T.S when he literally can't, a pip boy is what enables V.A.T.S which Cooper does not have, if anyone is to use V.A.T.S it will be Lucy since she has a pip boy.
V.A.T.S isn't a super power that people randomly have. V.A.T.S is called *Vault-tec* Assisted Targeting System for a reason.
False; in the beginning of Fallout 4 when fighting the radroaches in the vault before getting the pipboy you can activate VATS and still use it.

@@toxictex6603 they let you do that in f4 just to show you how it works. For new players. But it doesn't make it part of the " lore" or whatever. VATS can only be used if you have a pipboy.

#5 was perfect. kept hearing 'how is she not dead'?
#10 the divergence happened because transistor was never invented. so its the future, but everything is still analog. there was a nuclear revolution instead of a digital revolution. the analog technology partly gives the feel of being in the past, but the analog and nuclear tech is more advanced (like pip boy, power cores)
As a huge fan of the game, I'm loving all the Fallout content that's been released over the past 2 weeks

the stuff the ghouls are taking in the show is Radaway, its also the stuff that is hooked up to the ghouls grave
Yeah but it doesn’t have the same effect… why would not taking enough of it cause Cooper to pass out? Ghouls are immune to radiation so what would the purpose be to taking it? Sure seems to me that it’s something more akin to jet or a new mystery drug like several referred to in fallout 4
I know that the show writers are trying to avoid putting a canon ending to most of the games, but im just so excited to possibly see just who won the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. New Vegas is by far my favorite of the Fallout franchise, like several people i know who also enjoy the games. Mr. House winning is, and i can not express this enough MY canon ending for Vegas. Vegas belongs to Mr. House. #HouseOwnsVegas
Others have pointed this out but, the slow-mo shots mimic VATS from Fallout 4.
VATS is exclusive to having a pip boy. Slow mo shots were just that. They used many sound effects from the games like when characters logged into a computer or when using the map on pip boy. So if they were going to portray using vats the associated actions and effects would have been used
4:25 it is exactly how stimpaks work in Fallout New Vegas hardcore mode and Fallout 4 survival mode

When I was a kid I was playing Fallout 2 on my Pentium 2 PC and I thought to myself It's such a shame that this Title is lost to time because it would have made such a great franchise and look at it now a lot more games,successful TV show I couldn't be happier.
I played it then and yesterday.
To be fair, it wasn’t the safety concerns or cost of expanding nuclear tech that made it distasteful for the US to adopt. It was the fact it would have put fossil fuels out of business. There are records of politicians, scientists, journalists, and environmentalists having a much larger number in their bank accounts immediately before or after reporting nuclear wasn’t safe. As well as records showing they had ties with the “Seven Sisters” (the seven major oil and coal corporations in the US) and their executives. Oliver Stone made a great documentary called “Nuclear Now” that talks about a lot of it.

Most likely she was in cryo for a certain length of time, the only theory came to mind if that makes sense.

@@ZephyrPhotography I wondered this myself, and I don’t think they’ll ever say. Feels like she may have had some situation that allowed her to be in cryo but then also choose to leave ( presumably with other followers and supplies ) and help found Shady Sands. It’s not clear to me whether Vaultec knew she was against them so maybe she was able to secretly get a spot somewhere? I dunno… I would like the tv show to explore this but I have a feeling they’re going to just move on and leave it ambiguous ( which is fine I guess )
Explanation is mostly likely happening in season 2. A lot of stuff was left unanswered, don't forget she found the cold fusion, so maybe she dabbled in other science projects, found her own way of living that long.
The show FINALLY got my Fiancé interested in the Fallout world & lore. I gotta finish NV again.
If season 2 really is centered on New Vegas, I hope they include elements from the Old World Blues DLC. The interactions with the robots there remain some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen in any video game - and I've been playing video games since Pong first came out.
I Wasn’t Really A Big Fan Of Fallout, Even Though I’ve Heard About It Years Ago. But After I Watched The Show, Im Very Interested In The Series
They showed a Super Mutants hand in the Enclave base. They also showed one on a wanted poster.
I never play games to study the lore like a nerd. I play to be lost in their world. To escape from reality. Fallout 3 and 4 were definitely my kind of game.

About the VATS, while the HUD never appears, a bunch of near impossible shots use the same sound clip that a VATS shot uses
As I see it VATS is supposed to be in those scene when time slowed down. :)

Though I'm pretty sure the game heavily implies that VATS is only capable by someone with a PipBoy...which I am fairly certain Cooper doesn't have.

I play Falout 4 all the time. On my old PC, the game crashed, but on my new PC, it runs just fine, at the moment.
Fallout 4 get's dumped on a lot, but it's so fun to play.

Thats literally the first thing i noticed when watching the show, there never was a Bloody Mess kill, ive even rewatched the show and spoken to people at work. It wasnt present, and its a shame.
How cool would it be if they went to the Sierra Madre at some point I could see that being legitimately terrifying and it's not that far fetched since they already mentioned it

I have been playing the games since they came out and I mean 1 and 2 and I couldnt care less why someone gets into it.
Gonna go out on a limb here and say the "weird substance " Cooper is taking is Ultrajet. I can't see why they won't write that into the story. Makes sense to me anyway

These lists always seem to get stuff wrong. You do see a super mutant although it's just his hand sticking out of a sheet. Also see a protectron in front of the vault tec headquarters sweeping.

6:10 VATS does not pause the game in FO4 or F76, slows down the world but doesn't stop. I think FO76 it doesn't even slow it.

I did play fallut 1 and 2 i might lookin some newer at some point.
You could have handled #1 much simpler... the difference between their universe and ours was in their universe the transistor wasn't invented. The effects of this wouldn't really be noticed until WW2 but ultimately that was responsible for the vast difference between our universes.
I always run the "Bloody Mess" perk! Doesn't everyone? Since before the nukes flew the U.S. was at war for over a decade the mass production of stimpaks makes sense. Though you'd think they'd be overseas with the troops? I a major war rationing and shortages are supposed to be common? I like V.A.T.S. in the games. I doubt it'd make good T.V. In 2024 I play Fallout and Fallout 4.

It's not actually V.A.T.S though, you need a Pip Boy for V.A.T.S, which Cooper doesn't have, it was just a cool slow-mo shot.
4 is one of the best games ever in my book.

As a long fan of the series and show, I’m glad they didn’t add the vats system like in the game, the Doom movie made the mistake of shooting one of the later scenes in FPS and it was totally lame.
The fact that you guys haven’t done like the top 10 movies of each year, or video games, or music, going back in the past, is insane to me. There’s a ton of rich lists there just waiting to be uncovered

i'm hitting new vegas...never even owned it before and it was/is on sale for, I think, 4.99, on Steam.
It's too bad the first season was too short, if they tried to fit in all the stuff we didn't see it would have been WAY more rushed than it already was. Thankfully season 2 was confirmed today.

i played a lot of fallout 3, about 120hrs or so. i never played New Vegas though.... just installed in on my pc and injected a bunch of mods into it. let the games begin 😎

For all you people out there who haven't played any Fallouts, I vote for FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS as the one to play. Great story with multiple factions to fight for (or against), wonderful details, great DLC, lovely music broadcast on a couple stations (One station has Mister New Vegas, Wayne Newton!), really fun NPCs to accompany you, fantastic character creation with skills and perks --- just an all around perfect game. 🙂🙃🙂🙃

The perk they're talking about it's called bloody mess and it gives you 5% to 10% depending on which game critical strike and when things die they have a chance to blow up into body parts. It's amazing. So the show is actually probably less violent the actual games
