- Hey folks! In today’s videos we’re back with more Gold Stake Balatro. In this run, an early Supernova and Eternal Card Sharp pushed me towards playing the same hand type while several Blue Sealed cards helped scale that hand for the late game. Enjoy the video!
Balatro is a poker roguelike deck building game centered around creating powerful synergies and winning with big hands. In it, you can combine valid poker hands with unique Jokers in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat blinds, including challenging boss blinds, to make it to the next ante and progress your run!

I honestly want Roffle to have like an hour segment on his stream of just doing runs where he takes a skip every single time a negative or voucher tag shows up just to show chat how often they kill runs
As someone who has been going for completionist++, negative tags are great for the exact reason they're not good under any other circumstance. They often hit trash common jokers that don't really help your run. So if you have a strong enough run to support skipping, they can be an easy way to take an inconvenient joker over the finish line.
Makes sense if you're going for that. Otherwise, you could be incrementing your trousers. 🤷♂️

the eternal war between negative taggists and roffle, the negative tag hater, shall continue forever it seems
personally, i'm flushed.
Pros for negative tags: Adrenaline rush, massive happiness if it gives you a good joker.
Cons for negatives: Is a good joker 1 out of 10 times. On Gold it can be rental eternal.
I mean, I still go for the adrenaline rush, but I’m not going to say it’s a good strat.
I’m also starting to get the slight idea that Roffle is against them. Might be me just jumping to conclusions tho.
@@jimmya Roffle definitely converted me away from skipping for tags.
The main con is that playing a blind is very, very good, and skipping has to be weighed against playing a blind
@@electricVGC oops good point, I had that so ingrained in me that I forgot to even list it as a con. Indeed you forgo ramping your jokers, earning money, and having access to a shop.
@@jimmya also playing hands for effects which grant you bonuses for having played a hand etc number of times, you miss the ability to get procs off of stuff like lucky cards, blue seals, other Joker economy effects like Vagabond Trading Card etc - i do think that we could do with a rebalance to tags in general.

Roffle your videos and streams helped me with ideas to finally beat black deck. Granted a Triboulet+Hanging Chad+Sock and Buskin on a face card run helped too.

As someone who just finished Jokerless I could imagine it would be a pretty trash streamer experience.
A LOT of reloading at the start for a good skip - then the run is heavily heavily dependent on if you find blue and purple seals early on.
I swear the game actually does reduce chance of card enhancements if you dare pick up the driver license before its ready
when u discarded the purple with all spade in hand it was optimal to discard more than just the purple because u couldve gotten world and drawn poly 🤓
