- Hey folks! In today’s video, we’re back with more Gold Stake Balatro runs. In each of these, my econ was destroyed by Rental Jokers that were critical to the build but left me struggling to make use of the shops. Enjoy the video!
Balatro is a poker roguelike deck building game centered around creating powerful synergies and winning with big hands. In it, you can combine valid poker hands with unique Jokers in order to create varied synergies and builds. Earn enough chips to beat blinds, including challenging boss blinds, to make it to the next ante and progress your run!

How many people actually root for the run to do well? There’s something very satisfying about watching the perfect setup come into place randomly or not.

My favorite part of watching balatro played well is how they maneuver around all the bs this game throws at you and then seeing the product go far

There's an economic stupid for this build where you put the mask after the vampire. It scares little shower, but youget golden cards in hand.

@3DOM_ Yeah basically if Roffle greeded earlier by using hands to make golden cards after the vampire proc, he could have had several hands with random scatters of golden cards for econ

Yee the only disadvantage is the first time you do this you don't get vampire scaling, but you get it the next time you play the cards. Since the jokers activate left to right the hemomancer can suck off the cards and then midas mask can reapply gold to them after.

This is the exact opposite kind of run from the one I had yesterday! A foil Riff raff on the first buffoon pack allowed me to buy clearance sale on ante 1 and Liquidation on ante 2. Finished the run with more than $200 on my hand. Was on black deck gold stake too.

I came across this combo the other day and got my vampire to 20x! This is easily one of the most fun combos to use.
the second run was basically like running from the cops, you are in debts and you are barely making it but hey, you run away anyway
Used a similar run the other day to beat gold stake for the first time on ghost deck
i have a very similar run where i also had a joker that scaled with new cards being added, it was nuts

I love your videos. The one problem I have when I'm watching them is, when you draw a new card, I try to hover my mouse over it.
At 13:40, wouldn't the Swashbuckler have given at least some mult improvement (and work even on High Card) vs. Jolly Joker?

I feel like with the gold face a dracula its best to put dracula first so that all face cards will become gold first and then will stay gold after getting sucked. Its a little less scaling on the front end to improve cash flow.

Did they change midas mask to all cards scored instead of played?
Vampire got changed that way, but I think Midas mask was always scored cards

Why discarding the golden Jack in the second run instead of keeping it in hand? is there a reason for this choice?

God hit the road is so bad it's not even funny. I think that it resetting every round is what kills it tbh. It would be so much better if it was say 0.2x mult but reset at the end of ante. Right now the max typical gold stake value is 15 procs with 2 discards and a discard voucher. (Typical, not absolute max.)
That's a 7.5x multiplier for a single round which sounds great, but by the time you have the deck fixing to do all that consistently you could have just taken a constellation or lucky cat or something and got it to a similar level *permanently*
Maybe if it was changed to uncommon it would be available early more often to pivot into it easily with just a couple death or strength cards.
