I have always thought that a woman should sing this song because of the lines, "When you're all alone in your lonely room and there's nothing but the smell of her perfume." Those lines make me think that a man is alone in the room and I don't understand why a man is singing "Cry to Me" to another man. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I really like this version and I don't know why more women don't cover this song.
Maybe he is singing the song from a man's point of view what is going on.
