The MixC, Shenzhen (North Arcade)

We’re reinventing an iconic retail destination in Shenzhen with high-quality interiors that celebrate its brand identity and seek to improve the customer journey. Drawing on the site’s location near the Pearl River Delta, an historic nexus for trade, we’ve embraced water as a driving theme in our aesthetic, using materials and detailing that encourage the flow of visitors from one area to another.
For the North Arcade, we referenced the motif of a flowing stream through materials and subtle detailing that establish intuitive navigation. The expansive triple-height entrance lobby draws people through its doors, up the escalators and into the heart of the building. A striking water droplet-inspired pendant artwork by German abstract artist Anselm Reyle is suspended in the escalator hall, acting as a visual marker in the entrance and helping visitors navigate the upper levels of the mall.
