It's not finished. It's not operating at all to standard in a culturally appropriate manner. As you say, these are culturally significant and publicly owned buildings. If they aren't operating to culturally respectful and appropriate standards, they aren't free hold property and can be revoked from the current operators. Obviously, that is in no ones interest and having international standard luxury accommodation in Sydney is highly desirable. The current staff are not up to standard, and in a significant hotel in Sydney, they need to be. If this isn't currently achievable, consultation needs to take place so the hotel operates and is to a standard worthy of the heritage of this public building and fit to accommodate national and international guests and dignitaries.

50 year old building that's come to the end of its life, eh. Wish developers and architects would put as much effort into our housing stock much of which is 80 and more years old. Still I suppose there is no money in that.

Great , now install a roof with solar panels , and let the electricity course students mount it on and connect them on the roof. . I happy to see that idea come to life. congrat... a lab built by students for students and design by students for the future., is great. we are all students on this earth of our , we get the pleasure in learning every days of our life, thanks to staffs,teachers,and labs technicians. keep on opening up minds ,nothing is impossible. with the love of science thru infinity.

Not really the best way to use straw as a building material, doesn't use it to best advantage. They could have avoided using most of that lumber had they let the straw be weight-bearing and rendered it with a lime render.

Seemed mostly made of timber, good to see different industrial approach. Was the straw tightly compressed into timber 'forms' , and so keeping its fire rating.

Straw bale structures are being embraced by people who enjoy green living throughout the world, as well as people who want an affordable alternative to traditional building materials. Straw bales are very renewable as a resource, and the fact that they cut down on energy consumption is definite positive.

Excellent film. I wonder what the life expectancy will be. I guess it will depend on the wrapping on the wood frame modules remaining watertight.
