We were a little more attentive you say but, now you see adults not batting an eye when kids look depressed or clearly need help. Don’t say that. Do you want to know why kids fight? The lack of teaching is why. The lack of knowing and the lack of understanding.
Both of his friends are heroes! Both kept their eyes on him, and when one friend began the Heimlich, the other friend summoned for help, and then immediately ran for additional help! I'm sure the friend who was choking would have done exactly the same for his buddies!
Lucky he wasn’t in LA-Chicago-Atlanta-Philadelphia-Detroit -Oakland unified School district, the kids would have just grabbed their phones and started recording hoping for a dramatic once in a lifetime ending

I only ended up feeling better about it after I got word that he made it on base safely. Still a happy moment though. Probably couldn't have lived with myself if it ended differently.
