The Loo By Four was one of the OG Two Point Hospital builds. Combining a small footprint with a big impact and low cost made it a welcome addition to many hospitals. Today I show you how we can translate this classic build for Two Point Campus, ways to incorporate its design philosophy into another, new, room type and combine the two with our Perfect 10 Dormitory to make a mini nexus of needs fulfillment.

what about calling the shower room the "Shampoo by four" xD
Oh man, that is a fantastic suggestion! Pinning this comment for all to see.
@@Pinstar i have another good name for you "douche by four" because douche sounds like the french word for 2, deux
@@jettstream5404 In USA slang, a closer term would be "Duce" meaning 2, but also being slang for poop. The term Douche is generally reserved to describe people who are *acting* like poop.
@@Pinstar i guess that would work better for the toilets then
Also, I know this is a big ask, but making videos about each of the rooms would be amazing. Especially rooms like staff room, lecture hall, library, and lounge that would be in every campus, but also student union and the classrooms themselves would be great.
In particular, I know it gets tricky to even know the ideal size of these rooms, let alone the ideal items to use, and they scale with campus size and student population, but a spectrum of relatively ideal designs or design concepts would be amazing.
Already on the list! Tomorrow's video will cover the Library. Some very similar rooms will get merged into one video (Like bathroom and showers in this video) but there will be tons of rooms that will get their own video. Plus other focused concepts like staff training and skill sets, student intake fine tuning and more.
@@Pinstar awesome! I'll watch everything TPH or TPC that you put out, multiple times.
@@Pinstar thank u for that my hero 👍👍
@@Pinstar staff training seems way simpler in Campus. Annoying you can only train 1 staff member per room though. A lot of mine seem to get close to finishing the training then leave & return later though 🤷♂️
Another option is a 3x2 shower room with 3 showers, 2 towel racks, 2 sinks, and 1 hand dryer for 3 prestige.
I subscribed to this channel because of your Two Point Hospital build guides, I'm glad to see you're having fun with TP Campus! also I think your video editing skills improved, removing the split sec of dead air in between words is admirable attention to detail.
You can thank my wife for that! She's taken over as my primary editor. She also does the title cards, tags and other details needed when posting the video to CZcams. I'll pass this feedback along to her :)
Love to see the "mosh pit" design come back
Thank you, Pinstar! I don't know how I'd play Two Point without you.
Same here ! Pinstar makes it way more fun !
Great idea of made all close
I hope you post more of these videos! I went through all of your room videos, and I can’t get enough.
Thank you!!!!! I wasn't sure about getting this game was worried it was just a reskin but after watching your 6 hour stream I cannot wait to get it!!!!! Birthday is soon so hopefully will get it for that🥰 keep up the amazing work
Thank you for this! Gonna keep an eye out for your videos on the other rooms!
Thanks!
This is terrific! Never thought to design them that way and get that extra toilet/shower in there. Roomier as well and I love the little courtyard area. Just started Spiffenmore and I'm definitely redesigning for the loo by four.
Love your content starting from TP Hospital. Makes my gameplay so much more efficient!!
thank you so much for your videos! I would love to see a general video on how the gameplay works in this game - where the students go when they arrive, their journey through the campus and how we can help them! i feel like the gameplay is so different to hospital and there isn't THAT much tutorial to explain these things so far
Another fantastic how-to video. Thank you!
I always learn a lot from your videos. Thanks for sharing with us.
These videos are helping a lot! Thanks. Hopefully you can make a staff video, I’ve always been overwhelmed with staff and losing so much money since two point hospital.
Staff topics on my list include minimizing # of teachers needed, Staff training techniques and archetypes as well as analyzing optional staff rolls to see if they are worth it.
@@Pinstar Thank you! I actually just got off the game but soon as I’m back I’ll do that! You got a new sub!
As a general tip on staff I tend to look at the energy stat for a particular staff type and filter for that. I want to see a relatively even distribution of energy ranging from full to empty. Within that category I want to see the same distribution within subgroups such as science lab vs gastronomy. If any subgroup is too high or low I may hire more or possibly reassign or fire. When money is ample I replace lower trained with higher trained employees.
I have only played the first 2 levels through to 3 stars so far so I haven't gotten into training yet, though I used these general tips in TPH to good effect as well. Will love to see what Pinstar comes up with.
Killing my design for 3 rooms in 1 video, looks like a restart for the level is needed, the amount of space saving with benefits is just irresistible, thank you again, been using ur designs since 2.0 hospital 😁 and happy with them 💪🏽waiting for remakes of the design as u did b4😂
Looking forward to more of these!
Me too!
Great design, cheers.
I'm going to try this on my next level
i built the old "Maturdity Ward" from Hospital and the works well i did the same for showers and that alsio work quite well
great video
Great video as always, thank you so much.
One suggestion that I would have, that I also did in TPH, is to always place a hand sanitizer near the door, regardless of how else you make the layout. This would help to keep hygiene levels high, especially if you choose to not use sinks, not to mention those that don't wash their hands.
Yes, I know that the shower room exists as well. I wonder how much that invalidates the need for sinks and hand sanitizers elsewhere.
I do really like your student habitation mosh pit design. How have you found is a good way to place Student Lounge and Student Union? Next door, or beneath it if there's enough space?
That is a good addition to the internal courtyard. And even if you have a shower across from it, if you decided to build your bathroom with sinks you wouldn't be wrong. Some students will skip the shower, even if they really need it.
Hey Pinstar! It’s been a while! Love the video! Planning to get this for Switch.
Another amazing video, love ya
Another option is a 3x3 bathroom with 3 toilets (1 being a royal flush), 2 sinks, 2 hand dryers, 2 trash cans, 2 soap posters, and 2 toilet posters, for 4 prestige.
Helloooooooo CZcams 🤗🤩 !!! Pinstar is really the best !
I hid the posters behind the stall and added hand sanitizer on either side of the door and it pushe it to a 4
I took the liberty of combining everything that you've done so far:
Perfect 10 dorm room.
Loo x 4
Shampoo x 4
Lucky Student Lounge
It turns out that building the dorm, bathroom, and shower as you showed in your video and then building the Student Lounge directly touching the bathroom or the shower with the entrance pointing toward the dorm works very well and is very space efficient.
There is still a wide enough path for students to enter and exit, enough space for a couple of vending machines, a trash can, some benches, and some arcades. The picnic tables and Crazy Taxi are best placed just outside of the setup since it's a bit more cramped when you add the lounge, but it's still very space efficient if you have the room.
In my non-scientific testing and observations, one Lucky Student Lounge seems to be able to keep up with the population of one full Perfect 10 Dorm room, so all four rooms can be duplicated when you need to provide space for your next batch of 50 students.
@@Pinstar that's been my approach and findings as well. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have another Lounge where the classes are if they're further away as well, so that they don't have to walk as far.
@@Pinstar have you found if it's better to have every kind of facility in every building so they don't have to walk as far, or if it's better to concentrate all of the dorms and living amenities in a central building and have various dedicated education wings be present in different buildings elsewhere?
Thx msn
"No golden shower that would probably ruin the feel of it".. oh yeah xD
I spam the posters behind the stalls for the attractiveness.
Just got the golden toilet, such a game changer
Not sure if this has been updated, but putting in hand dryers massively increases prestige, meaning you can add a 3rd poster of each and a heater/cooler for 5 prestige in both shower and toilet
Two things I noticed. If I move my 5 star shower it drops to 4. I think windows can weirdly increase the ratings of room, even if they aren't used.
Secondly, I made the dorm one tile narrower and it still works. Any reason to keep it larger?
Found a new game, thought " i wonder if guy who gave me power-layouts is on this." Was not disappointed.
Golden showers!
I honestly don't use shower rooms... just 1 hand sanitizer on every room I build seems to do the job and give some prestige
A good video would be where to place these rooms like on my first campus before watching your dorm video I had one building solely for dorms and one dedicated to Scientology and one dedicated to Lecture halls etc
i play this game and stuck by the fist sport campus. I dont know the Problem, but in 2 trys i go out of Money. I buy every time personal, when i craft something like Foodstation or Healthstation or library. I dont know what i can do better but what i learnd yesterday... 2 wardrobes in this big room 4:55 are not enough. People starting to stack at the Wardrobes.
I havent seen any of your strategy and tactics of two point hospital before
now I dont have campus yet but I do own hospital. Do the videos about two point hospital still work well today?
I use pinstar rooms (especially ward and fracture ward) on two point all the time and never struggle to achieve five star. His tips are honestly excellent. I’ve just downloaded two point campus and I won’t even play the game before I’ve binged on these strategy vids! I love that he works out the best designs and always fell like I’m cheating (but winning) as soon as I start a level! 😂
I would so pay for a Golden Shower !
I couldn't get the golden toilet, tried to sign up yesterday but didn't work, maybe I signed up for TPH before?
Another great video! How well do you think the 8 toilet/shower design would work out?
The Maturdity ward has a few weaknesses. The door becomes a bottleneck, especially if there is enough demand for all 8 toilets. If there isn't enough demand for 8 toilets, then you're probably better off with a smaller Loo By Four. With the ability to place several doors, a modified version might work, but I found the 4 stall variety as effective as it was in TPH.
@@Pinstar By the way, the dorm + bathroom and shower setup is really neat, but I'm wondering how often will the students utilize that. My observation/thinking is that students really only go to the dorm to regain energy/sleep and then head off to class or hang out in the lounge or union where they spend the most amount of time. Seem like this dorm/bathroom, and shower setup is a bit expensive no?
@@MasterOfCybertron You are correct in that putting the three together does not guarantee students will use all three. Heck, I've seen students who are dead tired and stinky go to bed, and then walk right past the shower to do something else. Classes seem to override anything, so that is part of the reason. You could certainly put the showers and bathrooms elsewhere if they are a better fit there. That said, building one bathroom and shower for every dorm you build somewhere seems to be a healthy ratio to make sure you have enough total showers/toilets to meet the needs of your student population.
@@Pinstar Makes sense!
Hi!! I may have missed this so I apologize if I did, but do you limit this potty to students only ?? And if so, is your staff structure similar ? Maybe I need to just keep watching the series of videos but this made me want to jump in and start building this layout right meow!!! Lol
I haven't, yet, found a benefit to limiting the toilets (or showers) to just students or just staff. If the two groups sharing the facilities mean they are getting overcrowded, it is better to build extra rather than try to limit them to one group or another.
@@Pinstar thank you!!! This has completely
Changed my last 24 hours of gameplay..
So much better. I had a nasty storm of saved dorm templates, prior to watching this video, that I went through and deleted this morning LOL . I was making them MASSIVE and then was thrown off when I got to the wizard level since they had them as the 2 bed rooms. My only “issue” (a user issue LOL) is that this little section is now the only organized part of my hospital, so anytime I screw up the rest of my layout and have to bump all of it over by one tile, I feel like it takes me forever. I wish I could just group it together to move it all over at the same time. 😂one can dream. Thanks for the time you put into all this! Hospital too!
No point in hand dryers?
They boost the room's prestige a bit, but I don't think its worth the extra animation time. If they boosted hygiene by the same amount as the sink, then you could make a case for them, but as they are now, they aren't worth it.
@@Pinstar is they're true to life, they would decrease hygiene. They're disgusting.
damn
we can fit 2 sinks instead of one in TPC
The pass-through mechanic is good for other stuff. Like I make a huuuge Student-whatever-party-place-with-a-stage. It really needs to be a big room or it's a waste. If you have an odd shape to fit, I almost always make an exclusive bathroom for the party-place-whatever with pass-through to a 2x4 bathroom sequestered inside the party-whatchu-ma-call-it.
Also, your 2x4 loo design is a bit shit. Use at least one hand drier for more prestige. You can even get it up to 5 if you make a long 2x6.
The morsel whatever machine is also a personal-goal target. Some students want a few of them to exist. Outside of that, I can't even fathom it having some hidden stats, since it doesn't increase energy. All food / drinks take you to max, this one isn't healthy in the same way the default one isn't. So just extra prestige for campus corridors and a personal-goal target.
Lastly, dorms really want to be quality over quantity. A 4x5 dorm with 4 beds can house at least 22 students at 10+ prestige for A_LOT of money. Whereas having a room for 50 students but half the cash kinda sucks.
Overall 6/10 video. Because I really loved the design with a hangout right outside of the dorm. Looks really good, and is mechanically useful to boot!
Thank you for the feedback.
In the case of the hand drier, I think it does more harm than good. I've never seen a student generate a personal want for a hand drier, so lacking them won't disappoint anyone. There are some rooms where the prestige rating is very important, but the bathroom isn't one of them. Further, because the hand drier prompts an additional animation from your bathroom goers, that is time spent not doing something else. A student, without the hand drier, might have time to slip out and buy a drink or hit the arcade machine to top off another need before their next class interrupts their free time, but if they spend more time in the bathroom, they might not get the chance.
In that case, having a smaller footprint is more important because the room benefits from being duplicated and dotted around campus. It is easier to slip one of these in to a small space than it is a bigger footprint.
I do agree that there may be merit to smaller or even larger dorms than my Perfect 10. I figured that would be a template that balanced student capacity, footprint and cost while still maintaining max accomodation rating for max rent income.
@@Pinstar I agree about the hand dryer. I never use them, and stopped using them in TPH when I realized how much time they waste.
I have 2x3 and 3x2 builds for both the bathroom and the shower for when I need a slightly smaller build or when I need to place the door on a corner, all of which have 3 stalls. I also made some 2x2 builds with 2 stalls each for when I REALLY don't have room for anything bigger.
As for dorms, I made a 4x3 room with 8 beds (no double jump bed though) and 2 wardrobes. I was able to get the prestige high, and it works for when I don't have the space for your build or if I want a cheaper option at the beginning. The only other downside is I had to place the wardrobes on either side of the door facing each other, which creates quite the bottleneck for new students at the beginning of each year.
I also have 3x2 and 2x3 builds, each of which have 3 beds, that can be used in a pinch if it's all I have room for.
You could use your horse-shoe as a means to satisfy the staff, couldn't you? Just make the dorm into a 10 Prestige staff room and have the staff horseshoe funnel into classrooms, libraries, and tutor rooms, while the student horseshoe is as you have it in the video?
Edit: as creepy as it is, couldn't you also put windows in the bathroom and showers, behind the units? Two of each window for maximum Prestige
That would be a bit overkill for a staff room, but if you put one across the courtyard, they could easily take part in the shower/bathrooms that the courtyard provides. I'm still testing optimal ways to restore the needs of staff.
you can stuff the trashcan under the hand dryer
