I just received mine. It's identical. Loving it. I will be following your other video and doing the same upgrades. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Can u please send the link
my chibsons have benn great
Im thoroughly impressed with my chibson,
me too
I’ve been on the fence about buying a Chibson, but after watching your informative videos and some other CZcams Chanel’s I’ve decided to pull the trigger and get one.
Thanks for the honest reviews 🤘
Thank you for watching!
You are a class act my friend!!!!!!!!! Greatness!!!!!!!!!!!
You certainly love a Chibson!
Lol. I have a soft spot for them. 😆
Chibson! 🤘
"Angus Yung" Edition. By Gibsun. 😆
🔥🤟😎 Awesome!
Anything Angus is awesome 😀
Looks and sounds great! Nice tour around the guitar, pointing out the differences.
Thank you. New bridge install tomorrow 🙌. Thanks for watching !
Mike, not only is an SG my favorite guitar but Angus is one of my favorite guitarists ever! He’s a national treasure! It looks like you got a Chibson in excellent condition and it sounds great.
It sounds much better with intonation. I attempted to upload a quick tnt demo to a guitarless backing track. Good Ole youtube quickly banned it in all countries. 😆 a demo will be up soon hopefully 🙏
@@FultonStreetBeats , CZcams seems to have the power of Cosa Nostra. Looking forward to the upcoming demo.
I keep looking over my shoulder just in case a hit is out on me now🤣
Currently waiting on a cream SG, 3 pickups, gold hardware and Vibrola, (it's badged as a Les Paul) it looks stunning in the pics, few years ago i had a Tobacco Sunburst Chepiphone Les Paul Custom, i actually thought it was a real Epiphone till someone pointed out the thickness of the binding and the position of the nobs being slightly off, really nice guitar though, cant wait to get my SG.
To me, the big giveaway on Chibsons in general is the serial number and "Made in USA" on the back of the headstock. On a Chibson they appear to be CNC routed, but on a real Gibson they are stamped. Ironically, Chibson do it better!😁Not that anyone would see this when you're playing!
So is there any possibility to get this beauty today? Love the signature SG, but I don't wanna pay 2-3K bucks for it.
Awesome SG! I still can't get over the fact that I went to guitar center with my heart set to finally get a USA SG I wanted bad and walked out with my Epiphone SG pro because the USA SG cut up my hand bad and it sounded like I was playing in mud the whole guitar looked like crap with flaws all over it and my Epiphone out jammed the USA and it still does today! 😂 Awesome buy FSB!
Chibsons are cool
I own a USA gibson les paul, an epiphone les paul, a strat and a tele, both genuine fenders.
Also have rickenbackers and a hofner bass.
All very overpriced,
If replicas are made well and you're happy with them then that's all that matters.
I'm tempted to buy a chibson or two.
Maybe even a chickenbacker
At 1:15 into this video, I subscribed to your channel. I checked out the content of this channel first, then I decided to subscribe. I too like Chibsons, and the 1984 Gibson SG was my first guitar. While I own two real Gibsons, an SG Standard and a short scale Gibson SG bass, I have two Chibsons, The Zakk Wyld Vertigo Les Paul and the SG Les Paul Custom. I plan to get others.
PS - Not a guitar snob !!!
Thanks brother. I love all guitars. So you are in good company. Glad to have you here. Thanks for watching!
🤟
Too bad the seller isn't on eBay anymore. Great guitar.
The first thing I see that says fake is where the neck joins the body on the back more closely resembles Epiphone.
i´m buy one bc rick lol and like very is guitar very good made
I tried to look this seller up on eBay. Has the name changed?
This is where I purchased mine www.ebay.com/str/guitarproductionwholesale?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=lxaomclosxu&sssrc=3418065&ssuid=3Nn9iCqsRGa&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Pull the neck p/u and see what the neck to body joint looks like. After seeing one that had the neck try to escape I found out how that happens..
I plan on looking deep Into it on another episode. I'm changing the bridge and knobs.
@@FultonStreetBeats There are some Gibson Strip and Flip dealers you can get a lot of that from. The hole spacing on the Chibson probably won't allow using a modern Gibson control block. Have to go old school on that. I have several Gibson SG's and a flock of Epiphones. All of them have scary minimal neck joints. I bought a new damaged in transit Epi SG that had the neck broken off in the shipping box. The grain of the wood and the small joint make me cringe when I see a player "work" the neck. I stopped buying "real" SG's over how fragile they can be. Gibson's get broken inside a hard case!
where can i buy a chibson guitar?
There’s one other thing that gives it away as not being legitimate: the missing etched vibrola piece that most of the Angus Young signature models have.
Plenty of Angus models did not have Vibrolas, and the vibrola models did not have lightning bolt inlays.
@@FultonStreetBeats no. If I remember correctly, it was an etching of the character that Angus drew just for the signature series.
@georgeprice4212 The Angus Devil was on the vibrola signature model. The angus signature was on the truss rod cover of some of the lighting bolt models, but not all. Some were black, and some were cherry. Vibrola models could be had in walnut also. The first lighting bolt inlay guitar that angus actually used was a custom from an Australian Luther at (Jaydee Custom Guitars) in the UK. (1981)This guitar featured hotrail custom wound hooligan pickups. Jaydee customs, specifically British Luther John Diggins, built this guitar for Angus using The Gibson SG as inspiration , he also heavily modified quite a few of Angus Youngs guitar's. GIbson actually copied the inlays from Jaydee's work for Angus. Yes, I'm what you would call an Angus geek. Lol. Angus switched back to actual Gibsons in the 90's. But the first Angus signature model for Angus from Gibson was in 2000. That was modeled after a 1970's and have the lighting bolt inlays with the school boy devil devil on the headstock. But that was his only. There are some artist proofs kicking around someplace. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
@@FultonStreetBeats cool. And hopefully you’ll get the Back In Black era SG! I remember seeing something like you described on in inner sleeve of the original Atlantic issue…god knows how many copies of that and If You Want Blood I’ve gone through…and often not by choice.
@@georgeprice4212 I actually turned my Gibson SG Standard into one.
Looks like the ebay link is down, I don't know where to find this model to purchase
Link to eBay seller is a dead end - do you remember the name of the seller?
Strange that yours has Grover style tuners and the eBay link you posted shows in the pics the pearloid type. I messaged the seller and asked about the tuners and was told they are not Grover style…
Mine are not Grover style. Just plain generic type. I wanted the pearloid style. Just didn't come that way unfortunately.
Where did u get this from and how much?? I wanna get one lol
Ebay. The link is in the description. Thanks for watching.
It is not The Back In Black guitar, he had that way before that
He used it in the studio for the Back in Black album. I never said he didn't have it before. I am well aware that the guitar was originally a walnut color with a triple pickup configuration and a vibrato. Then it was converted to black with a two humbucking set up and the vibrato removed. At point the back was also routed out for a wireless system. Then filled in again. Of course I am referring to the black sg custom with the white pickguard.
What about customs charges or fees??
I make sure they are already in stock in The USA From the seller, so no worries.
sweet guitar brother!
i might have to give the SG another look....
the switch in my 300D went out on me.....but anything can and will happen...no matter the price...i just need to get off my caboose and get it swapped haha!!
That's funny. My switch on my Epiphone mistro vibrola just went up too. Lol. I was going to do it tonight. But when the new chibby came I put it off. 😄
@@FultonStreetBeats hahaha crazy bro!
man these guitars are like young uns....always needing something lol!
so IYV is a korean company so our ILS300D are "kibsons" right?
How long did it take to arrive? Chibsons used to take 4 to 6 weeks but that was riding on the boat with free shipping.
It was already in stock in the USA so 5 days to get.
@@FultonStreetBeats OOO that is huge for dealer to stock in the USA. Probably why you had a good experience. The dealer knows who to buy from and is probably shown some preference as regular buyer which makes your experience better.
What are ya plugged into here.
Where can I buy one???
I bought mine on ebay
Truss rod cover does not have A. Young signature
They all didn't. It depends on the year of the signature model.
My 2013 AY is the only one I've seen up close, and it has the sig on the cover. Its one of the later ones with the rosewood fingerboard. The chib is pretty close for sure, minus the witch hats. Depending on cost, it seems a good option if u don't want to pony up what folks are asking for a real one. Mines is not for sale, BTW 😉 it's the best sounding guitar I have by far. Nice video, brother.
I have a real one from 2007 and it doesnt have that either. I think some did and some didnt.
Pick gaurd isn't right
It is now. I changed it to one from a Gibson sg standard.
So what
The paint is the only thing that seems off. Seems too bright of a red
It's the led lighting. It's much darker in person. The thumbnail of this video is my guitar that I edited on Angus. Lol. It's closer to the real color. More of a dark wine red with a amazing wood grain. Those lights in my studio really change the color a lot.
@BUDGETGUITAR well damn I'm sold. I just bought a Chibson SG standard(non-Angus version), gonna rip everything out of it and replace it all with Gibson parts.
@@strawsparky33 Nice! I'm in the middle of a full probucker kit install and locking tuners now.
Every time you post a link to one of these sellers they get shut down. Maybe you could stop doing that. The big companies watch your videos then get the sellers shut down
@@HayesProject79 stops anyone else from even trying The guitar for themselves, even if He didn't like it,then who says someone else won't
I have a Chibson LP. It is equaly good as any Gibson I tryed.
You gave the item number but you SAID you'd link to the SELLER 🤷.. obviously to be e item isnt available anymore and its be a dead in link 🙄
Obviously, I don't sell the guitar. If a random seller is gone from Ebay, it's beyond my control. The links are For transparency.
Is it a Chibson? There are some fake Chibsons being made now... :)
so sad link is dead
Knob placements, headstock angle. Also the slight angle is opposite to Gibson font
From a distance, I would not be able to tell but by playing it and looking up close I definitely could without a doubt
Headstock size and angle are identical to my Gibson sg standard. The font placement and size are also identical. The tuner holes, however, are in a different location than gibson. The body is thicker. Anyone who knows guitars would know it is a copy. But now with upgrades. A Gibson pickguard and a switch relocation it is much harder to tell. The headstock is the place that its the most realistic on this particular copy. When I say exact dimensions on the headstock, I mean exact. I used the Micrometer. I was very surprised myself. Thanks for watching.
I think those pickups are a dead giveaway. They're not doing it for me
I can hear it. LOL
Why do people want to own fakes? I really don't understand why.. if you've got to change all the hardware just save up and buy a Gibson SG. Surely a Gibson SG tribute is more satisfying to own than something that isn't a Gibson but says Gibson on the headstock. Just my opinion of course. Have fun.
This is why czcams.com/video/30zzoYlPuu8/video.htmlsi=IYq0sHhDAaUKonLV
Nobody wants to pay thousands of dollars for qc issues. A person today can get better guitars for less money. There are many reasons.
Because i cant justify £1500 - £2000 for a guitar, the Chibson i'm buying the genuine Gibson equivalent would be 5-6K (it's a vintage replica), i love the look of it, don't ever intend to pretend it's a real Gibson (even if i sell it) so really don't see the issue.
