    There is no ego with a home gym. You are not trying to impress anyone. It is all for you. I have a den gym. It is small and my wife is not happy with me taking the den but it is for my sanity and overall health. Enjoy your home/garage gym. It really is a great investment. Seems like you did your homework. You might get tired of some pieces now and then but as you go you can make those adjustments. Good luck. And you might want to consider a small air conditioner for the summer. I am sure that fan isn't going to cool you down enough in the summer.

      Thanks for the AC suggestion. It does get really hot for the summer. My gym is for my sanity as well haha.

    The best thing about a home gym is that you can curl in the squat rack because it’s your damn gym and also speakers playing what you want

    I like the setup. It is practical functional and effective. You have what you need and none of the goofy unnecessary stuff. Smart way to build a garage gym. There is always room for additions later if wanted but it is good as it is

    33 is not too old to be squatting. Never give ground voluntarily. Great gym.

    Not bad if it works for you, the cross-over plate loaded cable machine is very nice! I would focus on some rehab and get back to more staple movements like squats and add in some kettlebells as well. Throw some peg boards up on the wall and hang all the attachments so it's nice and clean!

    Great gym. When Covid hit in 2019, all gyms closed up and I was forced to build a home gym and it was worth it.

    Wow your gym is awesome! Our sons went in and got me and my husband a cable system; it is great, we put it in one of our extra bedrooms. I added; incline bench, leg extension, Titan vertical leg press, just purchased also compact sled leg press, and of course free weights. Had a small squat rack but those kind of hurt my lower back so I gave that to someone. It's amazing what you can squeeze in the extra bedroom. Oh also my old stereo receiver with two big speakers! I can connect my phone to it . I absolutely love having home gym.

    You could get the high/ low pulley for the rack. I have the same one

  • @toddmckay5013
    @toddmckay5013 Před rokem +1

    For readers, his rack isn't a sexy rogue or even rep/titan fitness - but it dosen't need to be. There are racks on amazon that are 300 dollars that can work perfectly fine even for heavy lifters - however, where having a nice 3x3 rack comes into play for garage gyms is attachments. For exampled the rep areas has a functional trainer within it's squat rack and you can add a plethora of attachments to it. This matters because in a confined space, the more you can attach to a rack, the more floor space you save. But that type of engineering costs money and is sold at a premium.
    Adrian - your body solid machine is amazing, I would suggest looking at the powertec multi-press if you ever upgrade your iso bench set up - I love mine.
    Great video!

    • @AdrianLardFitness
      @AdrianLardFitness  Před rokem +1

      Thanks Todd. I was actually about to purchase the powertec multi-press a couple of months ago. I was eyeing the powertec leg sled as well. I ended up getting the body solid machine and the valor fitness bench press instead. I'll probably get the multi-press eventually since I can do more with it.

    Great gym man👍 Is motivating to have a couple that enjoy healthy life style. Horse stall mats are a good choice for a cheaper price. I've never seen anybody buy horse stall mats for the actual purpose. It's rare😂

      @@AdrianLardFitnessyou should squat. Not sure why people ever think there to old to lift heavy. There are people at 60 70 and even 80 that start lifting heavy and get in shape. Ill be 44 this month and still squatting over 400 for reps and benching mid 300's and doing strongman movements like 500 pound farmers carries. Your not old man
