  • Engine run on the two-seat Focke-Wulf Fw 190 F-8/U1
At the St Athan Battle Of Britain At Home Day
There were regular engine runs, on some of St Athan`s museum aircraft,
Till the closure and dispersal of the St Athan regional collection.
Most of these aircraft were moved to The RAF Museum`s at Hendon, & Cosford.

Thank so much for shareing this video i have a photo taken by my farther of the two guys on the other side of the FW 190 creating that wyning noise turning the engine. The odds are it was on the very same day as this video was made. Its a small world is it not.

The inertia starter used to start the engine can be switched on manually or electrically.
On this run it looks like they used the electric motort to spin up the Inertia Starter.
      More info from here.

The Junkers Jumo inline engined Fw190D. Had the winding handle on the top of the engine.
I also did St Athan 1986. But can`t find that tape yet.

Do you have any videos of the M5 Motorway at all? Like between Quinton Interchange and the M42?
