This is my wives favorite dish. I will try this recipe and keep trying until I get it right. If I can make it right, I will be the King of the kitchen in our house. Thank you very much. I jus hit the subscribe button.
Really great recipe once again. I've often wondered about the steps to make this recipe. The simple to make but multi ingredient batter and sauce explains it. Blessings ChefMike
excellent tutorial on the deep frying of the shrimp... i omitted the milk , only using a 50/50 blend of sweet condensed/coconut milk in sauce which cut down the prep time by not needing time to thicken.. good job..
@Zyxy2k You can mix it with sauce but because this sauce it liquid-y because of the addition of milk, it will immediate absorb the sauce. In my opinion, I think it's best to pour the sauce because some people don't like too much mayo as it will make them feel queasy after consuming a certain amount since mayo is mostly consist of oil.
My friend could you please make a video on authentic Chinese fried rice I like your cooking style I watch every video from your channel I'm hoping to see a great video soon on Chinese fried rice god bless you thank you for uploading great videos.
out of all the shrimp walnut videos ive watched..yours is more similar to the one at pandas which i looove..thanks for the video def. trying your recipe! 👏🤘
Im glad to see that you are back. Your videos are super easy to follow. I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on Mongolian Beef with the wrappers, please? My husband loves this dish and I would like to attempt to make it for him.
OMG Delish!!!!!!!! I made this but used Mayo, honey, sweetened condensed milk & little splash Lemon juice..... It was GOOD, BUT This Sounds SOOOOOOOOO DELISH LOL ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
wow...thanks Raymond for sharing another great recipes...I really cant wait to make and try the sauce...im abit curious about the touch of condensed milk and coconut milk to mayonaise...so definitely will give it a try...Btw can you please show us how to make dimsum chicken feet, siu mai dumplings and deep fried taro dumplings when you have time? Thanks heaps! Love love you channel! You're an amazing cook!
Thank you, according to the polls at my website. Dim Sum: Siu Mai is leading as of right now. So I will prepare that once all the votes are in (if has the highest votes).
hey aren't you suppose to mix the shrimp and the sauce in light heat so the batter can absorb the creamy sauce? that's how they cook it at this busy restaurant that i go to from time to time. thx
Keep up the great work Raymond, I try to promote your channel as much as I can to friend because I really think you do a great job with these dishes. Keep doing what you`re doing, looking forward to the next video! :D
Hi Raymond! Hope you are doing well. I can't wait to try this recipe as it looks very delicious! Is this sauce anything similar to the grilled coconut shrimp with white sauce at Chinese Buffets? I would love to make that! Thanks!
Btw, some restaurants use pineapple or a hint of citrus (maybe lemon?), so do you think they add pineapple juice in the sauce or lemon juice? it really smells and tastes fragrance and a bit citrus-y yet sweet. And, thanks again for the recipe and new video! Keep them coming, it's been a while ;) Very nice video as usual :)
evotube I think they add fresh lemon and orange to get that citrus taste. Orange=sweet and lemon= little bit sour, both will give you citrus-y taste to it.
Mitsuki Shigenoi For this one, how long the sauce will last will depend on your milk. Whenever your milk "best by" date is, that is the best indicator of how long to store the sauce. Sauce, needs to be in the fridge. The batter, it's best to make it fresh.
Question : Can you post a video on how to make peanut butter chicken? I can't find a good recipe anywhere! I first tried it at the Wok Express in Lincoln, NE and loved it! But no restaurant near my home does it right. It was the same consistency as General Tso's Chicken (breaded, fried, and covered in sauce), but it was not the thai style peanut satay sauce, it was kind of sweet sauce, but idk what they mixed the peanut butter with. Can you help? I haven't had it in years, and so I'd like to try to make it on my own.
To be honest, I'm not sure what is the point of pre boiling the shrimp then covered in batter. To me, the shrimp is overcooked once the batter turns golden brown which will make shrimps rubbery and dry.
Can you please make Buffet style coconut shrimp , the shrimp is breaded with panko and fried and it has a sweet coconut white sauce in it also. there are other variations on youtube but they don't have the fried shrimp version , . i have not been able to find this recipe anywhere. I love all your recipes and would be grateful to you if you please make this recipe. thank you.
oops i just realized the shrimp is probably not panko fried but possibly a batter is used to cook the shrimp in. sorry about that. please do this recipe...you're the best on youtube for making these awesome chinese recipes. we love you.
hauntedfamilyinAZ Actually, this is the recipe. Some restaurants call it coconut shrimp instead of walnut shrimp but it's the same. Just without candied walnuts.
Hmmmm, its possible that you could replace the mayo with greek yogurt. Haven't tried that substitute before so I am not sure how it will turn out, but it's worth experimenting.
+Samuel V You can heat up the sauce just a little bit using the microwave. The sauce because it's mayo (oil) base, will demulsify if it is too hot, please keep that in mine.
Way too much dough on the prawns. Way too much mayo. Prawns will be soggy with that much mayo. I found a better recipe. Go to siu's cooking and try their recipe. Guarantee your prawns will be crunchy and not doughy. Their recipe is a lot easier.
Ryan Do Apparently you didn't tried this recipe for the simple fact that if you add baking powder to the flour mixture it will thin it out when frying. It may looks like it's too much dough but inside there is a gap separate between the dough and the shrimp which makes it crunchy and crust thin. Second, you don't use all the mayo sauce. That's why I said, you do not pour on the sauce until serving and you only need to pour a little bit or however much you need. You don't use all the sauce because mayo is oil base and if you consume too much of it, it will make you feel queasy. Third, Siu's cooking has their own way of preparing this recipe so if you think their is better or a lot easier well, good for you. I respect Siu's cooking channel and the way he prepare his dish.
CZcams needs you. Please come back!!!

Another delicious recipe brought to us by the ever awesome Raymond! Your quality videos are always so nice and helpful.

What do you do with the leftover coconut milk if you don't use coconut milk? Suggestion on what else you can use it for or can it be frozen?
ataylorai1 I use the remaining coconut to make curry chicken/beef. I also put it in stews as well as cakes and pastries.
ataylorai1 You can always use it for a curry dish.
Absolutely beautiful ur a Tru chef
Yummy!
Can you please make peanut butter chicken??

Hi Raymond! Hope you are doing well. I can't wait to try this recipe as it looks very delicious! Is this sauce anything similar to the grilled coconut shrimp with white sauce at Chinese Buffets? I would love to make that! Thanks!
MrVacationLover Yes, quite similar.
Ok! Thank you, I will try it! Plus I still have to try your walnut shrimp and honey chicken :)
Hi,Raymond. Those shrimps look so heavenly. Is the coating batter the same for sweet and sour pork too? Thanks.
Batter for pork has whole eggs in it. This batter would be too light on pork.
it about time Raymond, where have you been?
your back :D I love walnut shrimp
(^_^)
***** do do 1 vid pur month
We need you please!!
Hi, i've tried many dishes from your video, and it turned out really good... why dont you try to make "sichuan Dan Dan Noodles"?
Mitsuki Shigenoi request received. Will do. Thanks for watching and trying my recipes.

Celeste Yvonne Yes, I will post a video on how to make peanut butter chicken.
Thank you so much!!
I've seen one chef boil the shrimp for a few seconds then covered it in batter. What is the point of pre boiling the shrimp?
To be honest, I'm not sure what is the point of pre boiling the shrimp then covered in batter. To me, the shrimp is overcooked once the batter turns golden brown which will make shrimps rubbery and dry.
Can do you something with stir fried Pork? and show how to work the Wok :)
octane787 Sure, i'll teach you how to wok.
Can i use peanut oil in the batter instead of veg.oil?
I miss you
Yum

I was thinking the same thing because I love that shrimp, but then I realized this is the recipe, but without the walnuts. I can't wait to make this.
Oh man! Who gets to eat everything after you're finished? I wish it were me 😩
Veronica Lovelace my family and i. i would be fat if i didn't share ^ ^
So did you reheat the sauce?
he said to someone no because the mayo will come apart then you'd just have a pool of oil but he said you maybe can microwave for a very short time
Could you try replacing mayonnaise with a greek yogurt/lemon juice mixture?
Hmmmm, its possible that you could replace the mayo with greek yogurt. Haven't tried that substitute before so I am not sure how it will turn out, but it's worth experimenting.
***** if something's not broken don't fix it ! maybe they will taste like souvlakis after you add yogurt hahaaa
sir.. thats look like shrimp mayonesse ,right. yummyy..:)
Can I heat up the sauce before I put it on the shrimp ?
+Samuel V You can heat up the sauce just a little bit using the microwave. The sauce because it's mayo (oil) base, will demulsify if it is too hot, please keep that in mine.
Ok thank you
Why not honey, instead of sugar?

Walnut process is way too much time consuming
