    I checked the link for those enclosures, but they seem expensive. I think the same shapes and interesting designs could be achieved with frames from the Dollar Tree. Slings are just about the cutest little creatures on the planet. Very interesting video too.

    So I rescued a B. Vagans about a month ago, she's eaten twice since I got her. She's been in a burrow against the side of the enclosure so I can see her, but I haven't seen her out of the burrow. I'm assuming this is normal, especially for a vagans? Also, how do I go about providing water? I have a sanitized bottle cap I fill every day with water that's been conditioned, and that seems to be working? tl:dr I'm a newbie with long Rd of questions

    What about a juvenile Mexican Red Knee? I'm suspecting my new girl is about to molt, but unsure. Just got her (and three other tarantulas at once -- never owned any beforehand). She's been hiding inside of her half cork bark hude for about a week now, with a thin layer of webbing on both sides of the entrance -- enough to block anything going in or out, and no tunnels dug to come out. I'm pretty sure she's preparing for a molt, but us that normal?

    how do you care for them while they are in the molting process? i’ve read that you need to still spray their enclosure with water, but where do i spray it and how much should i spray?

    • @tarantulasam7609
      @tarantulasam7609  Před 2 lety

      Absolutely make sure they have water. I don't spray any of my spider's enclosures. I keep a full water dish for each one of them. If they are a species that prefers moisture, I overflow the dish into the substrate and watch their actions. If they are favoring the wet spot, I make sure the enclosure has a damp potion of substrate for them. I moved from Nebraska to Utah. My A. geniculata was fine in Nebraska with a water dish only. In Utah, I notices that she was constantly hovering over her water dish. I started dampening half of her enclosure and she began to wander around again and typically has a preference to the wet side. Other than water, they really don't need anything else but to be left alone.

    my lampropelma sp. sling has refused its last 3 meals and has been very slow and secretive, tucking itself away in its den or behind a clump of moss. Probably premolt right? Cant really tell if its darker, seeing as they are already pretty dark compared to other species.

    im so nooob. omg My jumping spider was refusing food since 3-4 days, and made a nest. i was worried because it wasn't coming outside its nest, i thought it was traped inside, so i did a small pierce on the nest with a pencil, my jumping spider ran away to bellow of the container like "what the fuck is going on?!!!" (ofcourse he just got his house invaded by a pencil) i felt so sorry because i scared him alot, now i am worried that it maybe was going to molt and i fear that i messed all up with my noobish ;(
    I wonder if it still can survive after all this stress, i hope so.

      Tarantula Videos it's a good sign, your tarantula is growing and is healthy : )

    • @perliden1329
      @perliden1329 Před 5 lety

      They molt to grow. The process of molting is basically the t pushing itself out of their exo skeleton, its kind of like a suit of armor. The exo skeleton is so hard that they cant continue to grow inside of it, they push themself out of the exoskeleton to basically make a new one, they do this by hardening their skin and because when they do molt, their skin and fangs will be super soft and its their most delicate state. So when its very light in color, almost transparent. Their exoskeleton is hardening. This can take a while but with slings it doesnt take that long

      Cheese.420 my Chaco hasn’t eaten since May. Likely nothing to be worried about. How big is it? Does it have a fat abdomen? It is probably preparing to molt. Do not bug it when it is blocked in its burrow. Mine bunkered down for about 3 months once, then molted and came out (this is one of the reasons I have multiple spiders). I have a pink tow that is hiding and hasn’t eaten since June. Make sure it still has a water dish. I hope this is helpful.

      @@pakmat1053 How about now? It's a normal behaviour to stop eating before they molt though. Also you shouldn't feed them directly after you receive them because the shipping stresses the Ts. So always wait a couple of days before feeding new tarantulas but make sure they have access to water to prevent dehydration.

I assume she's alive still cuz i dont retrieve any live worms after dropping them in for feeding but then again they could just all be hiding together lol.
