One of the greatest songs ever written. It has everything. Brilliant drums, guitar, keyboard, bass, light and dark, humour, irony, tragedy, brilliant vocals, just everything a song would ever need. Such an underrated band, with or without Francis Dunnery.

Behind every successful band there is a John Beck :)

The dude Mitchell is from another planet. Guy can play/sing anything he sets his mind to. IB were actually BETTER 2nd time around with him. By the time they'd reached the OATW album, you could hear the muse deserting them. To come back with the stunning Tall Ships and the equally stellar Map of the Past was amazing. And John Mitchell was an absolutely huge part of that. Do yourselves a favour and check out Frost*, Kino and Lonely Robot. The dude's an absolute phenomenon.

No doubt JM is one accomplished muzo / producer ( i have a tenuous connection with him), and does justice to this song - but it was written by the original line up and for me, Tall Ships was never up there with the first three albums. Just an opinion!

He's using the same rig as me! I've used a Marshall JMP-1 preamp, through a Marshall 8008 power amp and then a Marshall JCM900 Lead 1960A 4x12 cabinet. Not sure what FX units or pedals he might be using, but I have a Yamaha FX500 and FX900 rack units. I've not played properly in many years though, so would need to work hard to get back to the standard I was.

Had the pleasure of chatting to Frank D at a house concert some years ago, he signed my album cover of Big Lad in the Windmill. He pointed at the picture of him and said to me "He's dead now! He nol longer exists" Cleary burnt out by his pharmaceutical experiences. Check out the live performance of Old Man and the Angel in Tokyo 1989, he's fried. You can see it in the eyes. Still played brilliantly, but apparently you can on the old Pepsi.

I was in backstage, had a pleasure to met Lee after soundcheck in Chicago. Was a YES feat. Anderson-Wakeman-Rabin-Molino-Pomeroy tour in 2018. But, important moment during the soundcheck was when Lee changes bass guitars, a few Rickenbackers and for Rabin-era songs he used(not so sure) Music Man. All of sudden, John and Rick take a short break, Lee throw away pick and starts some Fusion jamm riff, Rabin and Molino join the club! Oh, my goodness, Lee starts soloing and scat sing the same notes like Benson does. I couldn't believe, what a transformation, i thought that Lee is reincarnation of Chris Squire(all the respect and R.I.P.), but these guys, firstly, Lee Pomeroy blew me away.
I had to share this when I saw this video and because of fact that there are so much phenomenal musicians who are almost unknown. Lee is one of them.
