I'm in USA, but one thing I've had better luck with for restoration of plastic is actually using wipe on polyurethane/clear oil base varnish rather than using spray. Depending on the piece and the plastic, you can thin it with mineral spirits, usually about half and half, and wipe it on with a paper towel, and it leaves no spray pattern or brush marks. I find it works very well on old faded clear plastic especially.

check the capacitors and any suspect diodes/transistors linked to the IC (which you already replaced) which would form part of the tuner search/logic circuit as a "next step".

I have seen a lot of these 'restoration' videos, and reached the conclusion that in Asia, people throw the items away when they become dirty. In other parts of the world, it's generally because they don't work. Hence, a quick swill in cold water, a spray paint, and put it all back together again, and it all works like new again.

Dude seriously? Antique!!!? Old!!!?? That thing is like only 20 years old! I mean I have a high quality JVC boombox from 1981!
There is no way that radio is antique. I've got a couple of National-Panasonic/Sanyo 3-in-1 stereos made around 1978 - those would be more vintage/antique than a 90's model boombox.

Vintage at best, I guess where this channel is based electronics that aren't very old get thrown out often. I wouldn't consider something "antique" unless it's from the 1960s or earlier. I have radios in my collection from the 1930s. Yet to see anything on any of these channels that is actually antique by any means. Funniest thing I saw on one of these channels was an "antique radio restoration" and the radio clearly had bluetooth and an SD card reader.
