    I’d love some Charizard mirror content

    Awesome video Rowan! Thank you for this kind of content, it's great to hear the thoughts of pro players. I was playing your exact list last weekend and managed to win the locals with it 😄

    Would you consider, if you haven’t already, making a video about prize trading? It feels like an advanced concept i think could level up my (and other new player’s) games ❤️

    Thanks for making this video! I'm a complete beginner and decided to build the Charizard ex deck as my first pokemon deck (lmao), so I was a bit lost about why certain cards were good or bad. I like the way you were able to explain everything in a way even I could understand. Hope you have a good day bro 🙏

    Thanks for the vid. The control MUs still feel scary, even with two Turo. Did you not have issues where you Turo up a Mon, but it's still in your hand when they Erika next turn? Or what else did you do to help since there's no Yell Cheer to use multiple times?

    • @RowanStavenowTCG
      @RowanStavenowTCG  Před měsícem +1

      Erika, and then ultra ball the Pokémon away! Mantine is pretty crap, if they even play it, so I wouldn’t worry about that.

    What decks do you think is worth teching agaisnt coming into indy? Ive been playing a build with eri and devo and it crushes pao but im not sure if i should play it them as those techs maybe arent as important

    • @skygate5427
      @skygate5427 Před měsícem

      they are great in the mirror too so overall wouldn't be too worried about not playing those cards esp when eri has plenty of applications outside of the top two percentage decks

    • @RowanStavenowTCG
      @RowanStavenowTCG  Před měsícem +1

      Cpao sounds like a great matchup to tech for, as it beats most of the highest performing zard lists. Also lost box did surprisingly well at Orlando, Eri does hit both of those matchups…

  • @thebruisedreed9766
    @thebruisedreed9766 Před měsícem +2

    Awesome. One more question: are we going 1st or 2nd in this meta? Or dependent on matchup, which do you actually want to go 2nd?

    • @imjustsaiyan86
      @imjustsaiyan86 Před měsícem +1

      7-10 times, you want to go 2nd

    • @RowanStavenowTCG
      @RowanStavenowTCG  Před měsícem +4

      I always call first blindly because there a few matchups you REALLY want to go first (Cpao, Lzb, Moon). I like to go second against Zard, Hands and Control once I know what my opponent is playing.

      @@RowanStavenowTCG Interesting, thanks for the reply. I listened to one of the podcasts Liam was on yesterday and he said "2nd, every time, no discussion." I wonder why the different strat.
      The Tord list feels very dangerous to go 1st to me if you hit something like LZB or Hands because of possibility of getting donked if you only get Char or Pidge down. Since you can't supporter, and there's only 1 Nest Ball, you're likely not finding Rotom to help your turn 2, and you can't use Cleffa (nor take avantage of an early Max Belt KO on CPAO, Hands, etc.)
      The list I had been playing is more built to go 1st and play from ahead (4 nest balls, 3 boss/1 counter catcher, max belt instead of defiance, etc.) and I really prefer going 1st on this build into everything but Turbo Hands.

      @RowanStavenowTCG  Před měsícem +1

      @@thebruisedreed9766 a lot of the time I go first pass with a few basics and then t2 candy into pidgeot and use quick search to get more basics. Every once in awhile I pop off with a t2 zard. I assume Liam’s consulted Tord in the matter though so it’s hard to debate that…

  • @hatem00007

    Any thoughts about your bib zard deck you recommend before? Is it still good against tord list? Which is easier to master?

    • @RowanStavenowTCG
      @RowanStavenowTCG  Před měsícem +1

      My initial love for Bibzard came from being able to create one prize board states. Tords list accomplishes that goal while also being able to have the consistency boost of Lumineon and pidgeot. That being said, Bibzard is easier to learn.

    Late game switch to single prizers leaves you extremely vulnerable to Sabeleye

      absolutely it does. typically not something you want to go for without Jirachi. Just create big two prizers, Iono and hope...

      @@RowanStavenowTCG I find that if you don't get those rare candies or Arvens in your first or 2nd turn- this deck can fall apart. You're trying to avoid being screwed with TM Devo - but you're also taking an additional turn to evolve from Charmader to Charmeleon and leaving yourself open to be Bossed ibto your Pidgeot (there goes your draw engine) or your Rotom or Lumineon. Thusly allowing them to take 2 or 3 prizes (if using Turbo Hands deck). I also find running only 6 energies is a razor thing margin when decks like Chien Pao or Gholdengo can attach several energies (allowing them to hit for 250-300±) and then recycle their energies and re attach.
