    Hi Chris the Active Autowerks downpipe for the b58 is IMO one of the top ones for a stock oem plus style, no CEL guaranteed and no problem with the emissions test either, sound it’s awesome. Finally someone did it on CZcams and obviously done by @ForcedInductionsStudios, great and clean job boss 👍

      Hi Scott u found the AA Catted high flow dp for the B58 enhances the overall driving experience, but specifically any details in sound and performance in ur 340i? Thanks

    • @scottappleyard9117
      @scottappleyard9117 Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Simon. The sound is an improvement in my opinion. The car is louder and a little more aggressive on the cold start and under WOT. Performance is also improved. The throttle and responsiveness is better than it was before. I also like the no CEL guarantee and that the downpipe is EPA certifies and OBD2 compliant. I’m in NC where they hook up to the OBD port for emission inspection so that was big for me too. If you’re thinking about upgrading your downpipe, I highly recommend the AA catted downpipe.

    Wondering how the owner likes the Dinan intake. I just sold my MST intake because it was too noisy. Wondering how Dinan sounds vs. stock.

    • @scottappleyard9117
      @scottappleyard9117 Před 4 lety +9

      Paul L That’s my 340 in the video. I love the Dinan intake. While it does improve the sound, it’s a closed box so it’s not too loud for my taste. But for me, the performance improvement is what I like best. The car definitely pulls harder and the throttle is more responsive. I picked it up last year during Dinan’s Black Friday sale so I got a great deal on it. Well worth the money for me. I highly recommend it if you are looking for sound and performance improvement but not for something too loud.

    Tell me....the DP to turbo connection. Is that a fairly simple connection? One that you just push on and tighten vband and it all cinches flush and airtight?

    • @BOO5Tchannel

      Yes but the vband must be on perfect for the airtight aspect to work, basically will seat only if it covers all the way around otherwise you will have exhaust leak

    • @BOO5Tchannel

      Catless gets more flow but it has more carbon smell to it and high flow still has a cat that removes the smell but just more flow. For power you want catless

      @@carlsagan3065 The newer 3 series have locked ECU's and getting them unlocked and tuned is much more expensive than the previous gen. These catted DP's are showing around 20 or so hp gain on dyno tests so if you can get that much from a DP and another 9 or 10 from intake and then just slap a JB4 piggy back on, you'd have a really potent daily.

    • @BOO5Tchannel
      @BOO5Tchannel  Před 4 lety +2

      I would say a catted downpipe like that one is 70-80% more flow vs 100% on catless... for a 440i I would do downpipe, intake, and stage 1 or 2, that should be great gains with solid reliability

    • @FQ1998
      @FQ1998 Před 4 lety +1

      @@BOO5Tchannel Thanks for you fast answer sir. I would like to raise two points. First is, intakes are useless ( for gains ) unless you are running a big turbo setup like you, dont you think ? Secondly, what supporting mods do you suggest aside from coilovers, plugs? I've been following your journey since your first video.

    • @BOO5Tchannel
      @BOO5Tchannel  Před 4 lety

      Farouk Qaddoumi I like intakes for cool engine noises to be honest. Supporting mods after that is based on your goals, coilovers are expensive.. I ended up going the cheap route for a stage 2 tune and went catless. I’m deciding whether to purchase a high flow catted due to the smell. I can smell something even with the windows up, although it’s not as strong as it is when my windows are down.

      Yes when I went with my first catless I lasted 4 days and bought a nice high flow catted downpipe, the smell was terrible. Now with e85 I do not smell anything so with BB kit I run catless again.
