I don’t think in the whole world there has been a singing voice to compare with the late great Judith Durham. Truly the voice of an angel. RIP, Judith Durham.
As you say what a beautiful legacy. There's a lot of snobbery in music and when I talk about bands , singers etc , people laugh when I say I love the seekers but I am not ashamed to say so .in my humble opinion I thought they were great.
Rest In Peace Judith. Her voice was amazing. As flawless live as it was on record. In fact if you were blind you wouldn.t be able to tell the difference between the two. The harbour lights have called her and she loved us 'til she died. Thank you Judith for the music and your incredible voice and sharing both with us. My deepest sympathies go to her family and to Keith, Athol and Bruce.
I fell in love with Judith in the mid 60s...now in my mid 70s I have ever felt any reason to fall out again. Voice, demeanour and all round beautiful woman. Thanks Judith R.I.P
It was a free concert as part of Melbourne's annual Moomba fesival. The date was Sunday March 12th 1967 and it attracted the largest crowd to ever gather in the Southern Hemisphere, estimated to be approximately 250,000. Melbourne's population at the time was 2.5 million.@@ianaldridge4778
I recently was scrolling through youtube and found The Seekers. Only knew Georgy Girl but now I can't get enough of this band. They are amazing and Judith Durham is spectacular.
Me too. I'm from Brazil. I grow hearing the Beatles, Demis Roussus, The Mamas and the Papas, Scott Makenzie, Simon and the Garfunkel, but after met The Seekers, i was amazing and impressed by Judith's voice. It was wonderful surprise. I like all the songs.
Very rarely a song comes out which eclipses all the rest. It stays in your mind; it is full of emotion. Everyone can relate to an event in their lives when they hear this. What an emotional masterpiece. Rest in peace, Judith and thank you for the music x
@@rachelhenderson2688 just listened to and can understand why but The Carnival is Over is from my long ago children and that's why it resonates more with me
I was so sad to hear that Judith died. I was blessed to see them perform twice when I thought I'd never be so lucky to ever hear them. I managed to get tickets for both their 25th and 50th anniversary tour concerts and saw them in the Royal Albert Hall in London on both occasions and I cried very happy tears both times. Judith had a pure, sweet but strong voice, a rare combination. Their harmonies as a group are wonderful as well and they are all consummate musicians. But what a talent Judith was. God bless you, Judit, rest in peace.
I was there with you for their 50th, went with a Kiwi mate, all our peers thought we were mad, what a night. Loved it when they sang Puff the Magic Dragon. We had the last laugh.
One of my all time favourite songs & Judith’s beautiful, clear voice was one of my enduring memories of childhood & family times … 🥰🎶🎤❤️💖 I loved The Seekers music & songs so full of lovely memories … 🥰🎶❤️💞🌻🌈💕
I'd have been 10 when this was performed. "We may never meet again " made me go away and cry in private at the time. Now I just love such great professionals
She has such a pure voice, makes me cry with awe every time I hear it. Such a beautiful person & still a light of positivity despite hardships she’s had to endure at times.
I honestly think Judith had one of the very, very best voices in popular music history. Absolutely perfect and she deserved her state funeral England, January, 2024..
I remember The Seekers very well and with great nostalgia. Judith Durham's unmistakeable voice would soar like a pure white dove and render me emotional. Still does.
I was 10 years old listening to this song while my grandmother was listening on the Radio now 2022 I'm 57 years old listening to this song with my grandsons
My favourite Seekers song what a beautiful voice Judith had , we will never see or hear someone with such a wonderful voice again, she's singing up there with the angels , god bless 🙏❤
By far my favourite group of any decade. Love the haunting way this song begins to set the somber mood of two lovers having to part forever. Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it knowing two carnivals are over. The growing up in Melbourne, Australia in the 1960s and Judith's passing.
When the Seekers spit up in 1968 they sang "The Carnival Is over" as the last song at their farewell concert. Luckily for all of their followers the Carnival wasn't over and in time the group got back together and gave us many more years of their wonderful music. Unfortunately Judith, the girl with the angelic voice has now left us but the memories will live on, that is your epitaph. This time the carnival is really over, R.I.P. Judith and thanks for the memories 🌹
Rest in Peace Judith. Your musical talent is beyond measure. You are an inspiration to all, Yes all. My deepest love and gratitude, for it is to all. Many great albums, songs, just an encouragement and may 💁 happiness glory be with you, Judith. And long live a treasure, Yes a Treasure of your songs endure forever. To your sister, family etc. may all love though not be forgotten. And to Athol, Keith and all the Seekers, that you Judith never be missed or forgottenn
What an amazing voice and band. I love The Carnival is Over. This takes me back to my early childhood, years, when I used to listen to the seekers, from 1963 onwards. I feel a flood of emotion, because your music is so beautiful, and you were such a lovely Christian, with your Gospel Songs. Thank you Judith and to the rest of your wonderful band. I was deeply saddened to hear of your death last Friday 5th August. You are with Jesus and your Husband, now, though, Judith. I would love to meet you in Heaven when I die, or, are Raptured by Jesus. RIP Judith, Goodnight Angel. ❤️
I often think the same way and also as a Christian feel a joy for Judith knowing she is in Heaven with Jesus. God certainly blessed her with such a beautiful voice and she used it for him.
This makes me cry, Another You makes me cry and especially Morningtown Ride makes me cry. All in a good way but there's no other singer or group who make me do that on so many songs. Truly special
I read in the Internet encyclopaedia Wikipedia that this Seekers song “The Carnival Is Over” is often played in Australia at the end of many of their national events. DESERVEDLY SO!. This is an absolutely wonderful song and The Seekers are a national treasure. As for the late Judith Durham I’ll just repeat what just about everyone says. She had greatest, most stunningly beautiful voice in history of recorded sound, and probably before that. I utterly adore listening to Judith sing anything and thank heavens we so many recordings of her.
I don’t think in the whole world there has been a singing voice to compare with the late great Judith Durham. Truly the voice of an angel. RIP, Judith Durham.
Sadly, the carnival is over. But her voice will endure forever. RIP Judith Durham.

What a wonderful voice and breath control the tiny Judith Durham presented! Harmonies were just right.
Considering she has a severe respiratory disease since the age of 4
I was there on this day, still the most beautiful voice in Australia. THANK YOU JUDITH
Man, you had such a luck.
Omg seriously?!? 😍😍😍
Not in Australia. The most beautiful voice in the world
