  • This video shows the map timelapse of the smallpox virus from 1919 to 1977. Smallpox was an infectious disease caused by one of two virus variants, Variola major and Variola minor. The last naturally occurring case was diagnosed in October 1977, and the World Health Organization (WHO) certified the global eradication of the disease in 1980.

Smallpox actually still exists because the surviving strains after the eradication era are kept as samples in some laboratories today. Some countries still have stockpiles for smallpox vaccines in fear that smallpox might be released as a weaponized version which is entirely possible.

Thanks to world expert Dr. Fauci; we know people would actually do that. He goes behind governments back to send money to a lab, that studied what could happen if a disease that doesn't exist might develop.
He's guilty by default by sending them money in the 1st place. I cant stand the guy so had to I thought of it and wanted to meantion it.

I don't want to head to political territory here, but it might sound it, other than poverty do or did you have mandatory vaccines as kids for measles, mumps chicken pox etc? I know a bunch of countries don't (mostly Africa) and that's why some diseases are still around and people are vaccine hesitant. I personally can't travel to some countries that I'd never want to visit because of that. For smallpox I think its cool that we had 1 thing (maybe only thing in history) that the whole world actually united with and that was to get rid of the disease. I don't know if chicken pox and measles are gone yet.

Yes, right. We didn't have money even to eat, forget vaccinating or treat our ppl. Things have changed now, the way we fought the covid pandemic has shown our potential to the world. We not only vaccinated our population @10M ppl per day but also we donated and supplied vaccines to the world. We have come a long way and instead of making fun, pls think about the journey we've covered. We are still not there where we belonged 2-3 centuries ago but we will. We're the fastest-growing economy in the world and we've achieved so many things and also I accept all the weaknesses we have!
