I teach using just one of many accents in the world. Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚

Emma, one of my strategies for improving my English is to shadow the native like you. I have been doing this for several weeks and I think It is getting more and more comfortable in mimicking. When I listen to other youtube such as deep learning, AI, etc I am interested in I found myself that It is easier to understand more clearly. Thanks for being a target speaker I shadow.

Hi Emma! Thank you very much for all your tips. This always happens to me when I'm watching films on Netflix, if the subtitles are on I can understand otherwise it's just very difficult for me. I'll have a go from today and see how it goes but I'm pretty sure the beginning of this will be really hard but I hope I'll get used to it and start to understand everything very well. Also, many thanks for your tips about connected speeches, stress, contraction, and ellipses. I'll definitely work hard on it. Cheers!!!

You're spot on this subject I got to the same conclusions after 14 years of watching films with subtitles. At some point you just have to turn them off and accept a bit of frustration for sometime but that will soon pay off. For me listening to the Archers really helped me as there is no video just audio which made it a bit harder to understand at first but after a couple of weeks my listening skills improved big time. The fact that you know other languages not just English gives you a better understanding of the whole learning process and potential obstacles the learners of english can face and that is something that not every English native speaker is aware of. Very good video Cheers.👍

I’ve been to Lisbon and PORTUGUESE people there said they couldn’t quite hear differences between my accent (from São Paulo) and a friend’s (from Salvador), which are wildly different (we both have fairly stereotypical/thick accents from our birthplaces)

He has done his education from UK. After then I started getting interest in English, leads me to start
Looking English Movies makes me too interested In English foreign accent.
I had been working on BritishAccent for last 10 years its the hard work of 10 years that I can speak in their accent.
People used to ask me that am I a foreign native, but I always reply them that one should adopt the habit of hard work. After that you can change yourself. All of you are requested to practice this language, do not think of the people, otherwise you will not be able to achieve anything in life.

I like to watch your videos, for me it’s clear because I put focus how your pronounce and understand the context of your conversation, it’s great for me.
