This Memba Mentality BS is something Kobe created for himself! He copied MJ. Boring.
@@DungarooAdventures exactly. Kobe was antisocial and turned that into him being "intense." He was a loner who hated that he would never be close to MJ and resented everyone around him including Shaq who was always better and even Phil Jackson, MJ's coach.

It’s cuz he’s a ball dominant player
@Toulee Vue not true
That's because he's not a superstar. You want him on a contending team to be part of what makes the team better. Put him on a team with a superstar and an all star with a few role players and you've got what you need.
@Toulee Vue not true, how do you have two last names dude?
worst type of player, he can be good when no other superstar but he isn't superstar caliber himself. when there is another star he is unproductive.

Lin was a bunch of short-lived hype! I have had my short streak of going crazy on the court, but it doesn't mean that I am a good or great basketball player. Isaiah Thomas is a good example of my point.

Lin already spoke about this issue in a podcast(don't remember which one). Kobe was coming off his devastating injury the previous season but he couldn't play like how he used to despite thinking he still can. Lin was working with Kobe on how to improve the team but Kobe was stubborn and wanted to just do everything himself despite playing terrible. Kobe was MJ 2.0. Learned the good and bad. His tactics on and off the court were a little much. Needed to respect other people.

So this point, Kobe was inefficient and still a ball hog, shooting 25-30 shots at 35%. The other players rather play with Jeremy Lin because he passes the ball, did pick n roll with the bigs and found open guys to shoot. Kobe that that point was a shadow of himself and Coach Scott was told to tank the season. Lin n Kobe were still trying to win but they couldn’t coexist because they are players who needed the ball in their hands

Jeremy was better than Kobe and gave the team a better happier vibe more relaxed vibe, so Kobe had to act like he was “teaching” Jeremy so he would take credit for his great play. You could tell it was unpleasant to play with Kobe, because you he had to live up “being Kobe” the leader and the know it all. Instead of just playing great and having fun.
Jermey was never better than kobe at anything on the basketball court.
@@lancel.7737 Yes when Jermey broke out, he was better than Kobe. For a couple years a lot better than Kobe. Actually when Lin (on fire, like his 2nd? start) went to Lakers home and destroyed Kobe, I don’t think Kobe forgave Jermey for that, since he embarrassed Kobe in that game. Of course that’s my opinion. Look how Kobe was acting when Jeremy got to the Lakers. But maybe Kobe meant well. This video shows they had disagreements in how to play. But Lin’s style seemed like eventually teams were not going to let him get to the rim with out physicality. I think Kobe is the only player Lin had arguments with. But I guess they all get into arguments, eventually.
Kobe and Lin share the same birthday, right???😅 So its like there can't be two male lions in the same zone..

Kobe is the classiest man ever ..... Kobe we miss you so much bro. Hope you're killing it where ever you are right now.
Don’t think you can kill when you’ve already been killed
He did get killed by a chopper tho
Funny finding myself watching this video at this time, 10 years after Linsanity, and with Kobe already gone, and Jeremy now playing in CBA. I am a fan of both players and love them so much! Knowing not much about basketball but I think the action of Kobe here is just purely out of critical thinking as a player and not for personal reason or jealousy. The time is 4th quarter, 12 seconds left and the score was 106 to 105 in favor of the opponent. That is why he goes for the foul so that even if the opponent gets the 2 points free throw, Lakers have the chance to shoot the ball for the remaining seconds and make sure to get a 3 points shoot which will be a tie and overtime, right? That was a crucial time for Lakers and maybe Jeremy was just waiting for the coach instruction and Kobe was crying out foul foul. When Jeremy did not do anything, he proceeded to run to get a foul. That's my honest opinion on this video. I did not see the whole game but I think that was the case in this video. Not jealousy or poor treatment on Jeremy. Kobe just made a very critical decision on that very crucial moment. What happened at the end of this game, by the way?

He treated Jeremy Lin the way he treated Paul Gasol and every other player, Lin is an amazing player but he was soft just like Howard was and it’s not for everyone. He’s roughing them up to make them tough
Tough for what? It’s basketball
Lin had prime melo prime harden and an aging Kobe I think the fame got to him dude was special just should of stayed in his lane
what is that title
You gotta admire his work ethics he's trying to win at all cost
Unfortunately, Kobe’s career overlapped with the soft generation where if he was hard on them they got in their feelings. They couldn’t handle his intensity and work ethic. If I’m a teammate of MJ or Kobe I’m listening and taking everything they say with a grain of salt. At the end of the day they wanted to win and for that to happen they expected the very best out of their teammates and to bring it out they had to test them to see who was mentally tough enough to handle them so when game 7 of the finals came they knew you could handle it
Generation had nothing to do with it. Players hated playing with MJ too. And neither MJ nor Kobe won anything without Phil Jackson, so that bully mentality is overrated.
