I genuinely think this guy was really pleasant and that he cares about animals too. He wanted to play 'vegan bingo' at the start but I think I was able to set him straight and debunk several arguments. Hopefully he will give it some further thought afterwards.

Ultimately I'm trying to make people stop for a moment and think - and to reconnect with the compassion for animals that already lies inside most of us.
If we take the time to inform people properly, together, one step at a time, one change at a time, - when it all adds up, it will be one enormous result for the animals.
Ethical veganism means making everyday choices driven by the desire to avoid causing cruelty and suffering to animals at all practical costs. It is a way of life that reaches far beyond a plant based diet.
Put simply - We oppose the exploitation and use of other animals.
There is no doubt that breeding, caging and use of animals for food, clothing, experimentation and entertainment causes an immense amount of suffering... all of it completely unnecessary.
Following a vegan lifestyle is easy and on this channel I will be navigating many of the challenges and socially ingrained ideas that animals are here for us to use.
I also hope to talk about 'activism'... and helping other vegans to communicate effectively and share the message of living without causing unnecessary harm to other beings.
I want to make change happen... for our health, for the planet and most importantly, for the animals.
I hope you will join me on our journey to change the world.

Have to say, though, I can't suppress my laughter every time somebody brings up 'the lion'. Meat eaters - you need to think before you argue with a vegan. Two things - we know about the lion and we've dealt with that argument thousands of times, already. Secondly - please ponder the ways in which you are not a lion. Always the bloody lion! There's a silo, somewhere, where carnivorous humans collect and discuss how to win in an argument with a vegan. There has to be. And there is yet to be one of them that pipes up 'But, what about obligate carnism?' I think they may get to the word 'lion' and then start stroking themselves in a congratulatory manner. It's a very strange silo. I can't see Netflix wanting to film inside it any time soon.
Great points. Also as brutal and violent as a lion kill is it isn’t close to the brutality of animal agriculture where animals are forcibly bred by humans into confinement, often dying of disease and from overcrowding, overfed and then taken off to a brutal death as they reach adolescence.
If lions treated their food in this way I would be vehemently anti-lion.

That's interesting. This chap, being a Muslim, states that he eats mostly plants because he (he seems to be saying) is finding it hard to find halal meat in most everyday situations. I know that in Judaism there are, or can be, very strict rules on how vegetables are prepared. Even a lettuce can go against the strict application of religious dietary observance for a Jew. Is the same true for Islam (with how the vegetables have been prepared)? Because, if not, surely it's much easier for a Muslim to just go vegan and not have to question the processes behind the meat in a every meal? Much less hassle. Clothing aside. Just going by what somebody chooses to eat.
I'm going to have to read the other comments. I hope that a vegan Muslim has offered some insights.
