Unless Brahminism is rooted out of India, it will never become a better place to live in! Brahminism has infected almost all sections from religion, Politics, bureaucracy, media. The only 2 states which has managed to reduce Brahmin influence have developed economically/socially the most in India - Tamilnadu and Kerala!

When you ask any thing from Google , it does not ask your caste . Prove yourself in competence and you get respect of society and that is your new caste .

Dilip Mandal jee- You do not have to take an interview of this gentleman to prove your point. I fully agree that there should be diversity in every field to bring out the best. Tell me very honestly, how much hard work you must have done to be in this position? I am sure quite a bit. How much hard work an upper caste has to do to reach this level? He has to do it as well. It is an era of competition, take any field, Cricket, field, bureaucracy, Army, private jobs ...one has to compete and same applies for SC, ST, OBC and all segments of society. You do not have to find fault with others ...introspection is the key. Obama was not a black but he did become president of the USA, President Kovind did become President though he is SC... Mandal jee - you have become an anchor but please do not mind, you have to improve your anchoring, one has to improve on day to day basis ..it applies to all of us. Please guide the people under your influence in the right way ...all the best.

@@sleepyhead6023 Thanks for your comments and they have value too for me so we can discuss it with calm mind . I am sure that you are aware of term " Life Chances". Probability of some body becoming a doctor is higher if his or her father is doctor too . This is probability and not 100% guarunteed . I have got so many friends whose children could not pick up the same profession as their parents ....some doctors and some bureaucrats. All these were in the higher castes . Let me give you an example of lower caste bureaucrat whose children could join the bureaucracy through the reservation . Who worked hard and who did not is matter of subjective assessment . I do agree life chances of SC or ST making it to higher strata of society is less and thats the reason reservation has been provisioned . If you happen to know about Meenas of Rajasthan , thery are ST and have made to the bureaucracy on a big scale . Now , media unfortunately has no reservation so one has to go through market traction . Again I say, this is an era of competition and one has to go through this barrel . Please do not take it personally .

@@sonaa4136 Thanks for your views on the subject .I appreciate what you have written and I do not have any reason not to give it due importance. I know about Payel Tadvi and Rohit both . I am sure that there may be more people in the same category who have been harassed/ lost their life, and suffered directly or indirectly , physically of verbally . What is the solution? Solution is not with any body but with our SC and ST only. First of all , reservation has to be broad based and not restricted to some selected few only. Just one generation so that others will also come up. Once more number of SC and ST comes up through reservation , awakening in the entire community will be more . Right now only few people are taking advantage again and again. This has to stop.Secondly, there has to be community effort to increase the competence of all those who goes to the higher economic strata of society through reservation but are found to be incompetent and do not reach to higher level in government service by virtue of their competence and thus depriving the community of their decision making ability . These people become the burden to the community because they do not perform and others get the excuse that they are the liability in the system. How many top bureaucrats , doctors , technocrats are from SC .....Moreover they do not support the community . Our SC and ST have to earn the respect of others through their competence and efficiency .Once they do that , rest of the things will be easy. Blaming higher castes, and creating social disharmony will not help their cause.

Isn't it a fact earlier that the uppercastes earlier discriminated against the lower castes ideologically supported by priestly class?
Now the rising BCs are doing it and the priestly and other upper castes rub their hands in glee?
Isn't it that we have Kula Puranas where discrimination is written and legitimised?
      Why blame others?
We as Hindus must grow to be men to accept the discrimination and face it and end it.
Don't we even today read about honour killings? Because a girl chooses to marry a lower caste guy, the father kills the boy?
Look at any legislative body you will find disproportionately larger representation of upper castes.

You can with your hard work and a bit of luck can be financially mobile. But can you change your caste if it was lower?
We need to forget the bitterness of the past true, but we need to remedy it if we are a just society.
First of all we must encourage inter caste marriages and encourage them.
Our Hindu Sadhus Sants.and Shankaracharya's must condemn the caste system.
And understand that depressed classes need support to grow and should not resent it.
It takes atleast 3 generations at the minimum for a person from lower castes to compete with her uppercase peers.

Intercaste marriages are certainly to be promoted and positve action from government side is required . But please appreciate that these marriages are possble only with the consent of boy and girl . In normal circumustances , it is possible in urban scenerio only where people are qualified and move to the new set up.You have mentioned about the government sector and lack of jobs there , yes , it is true . If you come to private sector you will compare with government sector and find out that government sector is overstaffed and inefficient . The problem is people who have taken advantages of reservation once are taking it again and again leaving very few seats for those who really deserve it now. Secondly , if SC and ST has to move up in society , they have to prove their competence and earn the respect of others . I feel bad when all those SC and ST go to IIT and not able to clear the exams . You will agree that SC and ST have to work hard to compete so that they can take advantage of system .One more point is that SC /ST/ OBC and other reserved categories should not play victim card rather they should play their strength card by proving their competence. No matter what has had been done to you, YOU are the only one who is responsible for your ascent way up to the echelons. Reservation is not the solution. You all have been getting it from 70 years. What has changed? Nothing. "Reservation" didn't serve the purpose, instead it made people more dependent on mercy of government for the pittance, which in turn, made them more poorer. Ambedkar's vision was to make things progressive or bring poor SC/ST people into the mainstream society by means of reservation, but what happened? Complete Antithesis! or regression. Nowadays, more and more people are trying to be poorer, so they can avail benefits of reservation, even if they are not THAT poor. And to the ones who duly deserve it, HAVE BEEN left out on their own. Poor General category students can perform well, but YOU can't. Why? Any Ruse? It the education ONLY which can change things upside down - Nothing else. Or keep whining your whole life. RESERVATION WILL NEVER. Be a bit logical.
