  • Best ride ever!! After snow and hail the previous days. Perfect day, great location, wonderful company.
    Bruny Island was a gem. Riding 2 up on our postie CT125 bike we set off early through Hobart then south to Kettering. A short ferry ride and motorbike nirvana was before us. Winding roads, coast bays aplenty, forest diversity from towering eucalyptus trees to temperate rainforest. This island had it all.
    All filmed on my iPhone 11 and edited on iMovie on the phone, keep it simple and don’t become a slave to your electronics!!!

    One of the most enjoyable and relaxing motorcyle videos I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing.

    Honda built the best little bike. I use it more than my Harley roadglide here in states. Crazy fun….

    I rode one of these litle suckers for 30 years as a postie in Queensland, so good on you for doing Bruny. I did Bruny in 2021 on a Honda Goldwing GL 1800. Luxury. Tasmania is brilliant on any bike. Loved your video.😊

      Ta, Far better on a bigger bike I think. Too slow for those logging trucks/

    I have a couple of these CT125s, brown like yours and a red one for the missus. I know you refer to them as postie bikes but I’m not sure Australia Post ever used this model. They did use the CT90 and CT110 but to my knowledge didn’t acquire the CT125 that you are riding.

    Thanks for the nice ride! Very Beautifal Country. Cheers from the U.S. I've had my postie for almost a year now and have 7,700 miles (12,800 Km) under my butt so far. 🛵 I love seeing where others ride and the slow pace of the postie truly lets you take in all your surroundings.

    Try the scenic roads around Geeveston. The road to Tahune Airwalk and Mt Hartz are very nice. And towards the Cockle Creek is very nice.. If you are still in Tassie, we can ride together.

    I found Tassie very easy to navigate around and quite un rushed for the most of it. Going back again in April and will have to sus out Bruny Island.

    Great video. Thanks for your efforts. I have just bought a CT125 and I'm preparing it for a desert trip with a lot of gear. My boyfriend says the fuel economy will be shot so loaded up. Could you tell me how many litres/100km you are getting just by yourself as opposed to doubling with gear please?

    Never have and never will get to Tasmania so thanks for these delightful glimpses of what is missing from my life!
    I notice you ride with your visor down - do you ever feel you are a bit isolated from nature’s sounds, smells, (bugs) and sense of connection with the surroundings?
    I’m getting about 280kms to the tankful on my CT here in the UK with E10 fuel being predominant - how are you finding your one up fuel burn down there?

      @mickrides615  Před rokem

      Glad you enjoyed it, was a great day.
      I pop the visor a bit but rarely fully open. Too many bugs here!!
      I’m getting about 240km max (with panniers etc). But have my heart in my mouth for the last 20km.
      At least they not too heavy to push if I every run out of fuel.🥴

      I carry a 1 litre camping fuel bottle ( with petrol in it ) for this very reason, but never had to use it myself - but it got riding buddies out of trouble

    Hey buddy,liked your videos.
    Just wonder how much speed u can reach with packs of camping stuff? I tried mine on Freeway around 95 but never tried with camping stuff loaded.....

    • @mickrides615
      @mickrides615  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for the feedback. Speed is not a positive with the CT!!! The panniers seem to make no difference, My weight/height compared to Leanne's cost me 5km/h and I use 10% more fuel. On the flat with no tail wind 85km/h was top speed, then hills and headwind would knock that. Average 70-80 over hilly county.2 up we made it up Mt Wellington Hobart and never ran out of omp, just had to keep the speed up. Enjoy. M

    You had so many bags on the bike. How much luggage can it actually carry?

    • @mickrides615
      @mickrides615  Před rokem +1

      Not much at all . 16kg. just panniers on the side to keep the weight low. No difference with or without the bags. Leanne small so two up not that noticeable unless hills very steep. Always hunting for a gear on these bikes no matter what.
