loved sega in the 90's. they nailed everything. they weren't afraid to do anything. the first commercial in this video was awesome. That was probably every kid's dream and sega got it perfectly.
Sega of japan were incompitent and the only reason segs of america did well was because of sega of americas CEO beeing so awesome but ultimatley he answered too japan and couldnt stop all of sega of japans horrible choices(such as releasing the 32x burning customers etc)
@@allentoyokawa9068 lol , sega of japan forced the 32x which fucked the trust of consumers, sega of japan killed coperation with sony and created the playstation(sony went to sega after the nintendo fiasco) , sega of japan refused too lower the price of the saturn so that the famous "299" clip from sony was created. I could go on but i dont remember everythin of hand
@Grooveraider Actually at the time Sega was more interested in touting the Sega CD's FMV features and of course we all know that at the time FMV interactive movies (fyi my most hated genre of video games) were seen as the future of Video Games
@SoukerWorldGaming - Around the time of this video. I believe Sega was still in negotiations with Konami and GameArts to bring Snatcher and Lunar to the States. I recall Snatcher and Lunar showing up at the Summer CES in Chicago prior to their release in the States, in December '94.
You have to hand it to sega, they were pretty bad ass back then but they just didn't have the games that Nintendo had...and if theres one thing that companies should know, its that its all about the games not the hardware!
@Astrotrain99 - My bad ...Lunar did release Stateside Xmas '93. I guess Sega just wasn't smart enough to show off 3rd party titles in their media video at the time.
@dwaynedarko - I know, right ? Full-Motion video was all the rage back then. But the novelty got old real quick once you understood everything in the game was pre-determined. All you did was push buttons :P
SoukerWorldGaming Probably because they were "too japanese" for the cool americal audience. Jokes on them, Lunar and Snatcher are from the few Sega CD games that were actually great and aged well (although the PS1/Saturn version of Lunar was superior).
We didn't have any kind of reviews back then, a few screenshots on a magazine and the game was sold
World Series baseball was the greatest baseball game of all time during that time. I put in some serious time with that game.

@@Frozkadurrr Umm it was the other way around, Sega of America was the issue NOT JAPAN

The game gear ate up batteries.
@akumacornflakes The McDonalds game was awesome
You are the coolest!
Wow, Pink Panther and McDonald's Treasure Land Adventure. Way to entice us with the hits, Sega.

Anyone know where I can find the background guitar music? Does it have a name?
@Grooveraider I think Lunar came out State side a little before this video. I remember getting it as a gift for Christmas '93.

With this all new perspective when when you get hit you fall down when you hit them they fall down.....Its a whole new LEVEL! LOL
SEGA!!!

Full Motion Video.... the ultimate gimmick. Man they really fooled people back then
natedoggcata Just like cinematic games today.
@@Vetusomaru thank you, delightful to see i'm not alone with that opinion heh
1:28 Extracurricular activity, are these people Sonic Team or Random Asians?
Realy? Prize fighter and TomCat Alley? Why not talk about Snatcher or Lunar, or any game that looks remotely interesting?

funny, now we know all those sega cd games were shit, especially the ones that used live action video.
There were a few good ones, including Sonic CD.
Justin Hill Unfortunately Sega and other companies focused at FMV crap.
