I love classical ballet but find this kind of character dance so much more interesting and compelling. Much of classical ballet is repetitive and stilted and tiresome. Also, this character dance involves so many more male dancers doing so many more interesting things than in classical ballet where the male is often just a support for the female. Here you've got whole groups of males doing amazing and fascinating things. I think this form of dance allows for more masculine displays of virtuosity. The male dancer is employed here just as thoroughly as the female, maybe even more, which I like.
Honestly I could watch these guys and girls dance for days on end. The talent and skill and dedication is incredible.
