superb, love that energy. absolutely NOTHING around nowadays like that early nineties indie/punk/dance crossover scene - EMF, Carter, Neds, Poppies, Jesus Jones etc..... so glad i was a teenager at this time.
Right!! EMF and the other bands are part of something called the grebo scene and I absolutely love it!!
Had my near-death motorcycle accident here in New Zealand in April 1990 when I was 25 and ultimately became an instant left leg amputee at the knee. After septicemia set in and 6 evenings later the rest of my leg was amputated up as high as my hip and left side of my pelvis [amputated]. Suffered several other internal injuries as well. Spent 101 days in hospital. Doctors & surgeons believed because I was an athlete at the time [road cyclist. triathlete, marathon runner] my high fitness level contributed greatly to my survival. I have never forgotten when I first heard EMF over here in New Zealand. I fell head over heels in love with them. I was already a Joy Division and New Order disciple in the '80s here so I guess it was inevitable I was gonna love EMF. Their song 'Children' I believe was one of the best songs to ever come out of the 1990s. I also fell in love with Pearl Jam. But this comment is all about EMF. Thank you a million X for the pleasure you bought to me then and still do when I play you. R*E*S*P*E*C*T
hey there, ive just read that amazing note and have total respect for what you have been through, I myself was a keen cyclist but nothing special but have 27 bits and bobs of titanium in my right leg but nothing like your good self, yup without new order there would be no EMF for sure 100%, and joy division !! well those two bands in the same sentence as the band I started with zac and James ,Ian and mark EMF is the upmost honour!! I also wrote children in music form (simple!) so it means a LOT to hear your respect and many thanks always and forever, stay fit and thanks again, x Derry EMF

I love how energetic but polite James Atkin during his performances. Always thanking the crowd for vibing to their music after each song, but also always hyping making sure their hyped up as well. You can really tell that he has such a great passion for music 🎼

Saw EMF at Manchester Gorilla Jan 2023 and they were utterly brilliant, showcasing new stuff from GO GO SAPIEN, their incredible new album. Jan 2024 we're off to Holmfirth Picturedrome to see them again. Fantastic band! ! !

Oh, man, I was supposed to be at this concert, but I was really ill and couldn't make it. So looking at the setlist, I see "Unbelievable" twice, and think to myself "well, EMF /were/ a bit of a one hit wonder, but that's taking it a bit far" but then get to the end and see James pulling the crowd up onto the stage. Excellent.
