  • Decided to have a stop off on my way north and have a summit camp on one of Glencoe’s most iconic Munros - Stob Coire Raineach. This is one of the two Munros located on the Buachaille Etive Beg or “the wee Buachaille” as it’s more commonly known by.
As I explain, there’s reason why I picked this one particularly which I explain in the video.

Fancied a wee change from the other side of the road. Loads of others close to where the edge drops off too but I didn’t want to go any further walking wise

Cracking night out, despite forgetting the drone. I’ve managed without a drone but may be my next purchase, the footage definitely adds another perspective/element .The anxiety I understand. I’m more worked up until I find a pitch and get set. Once the tents established I can then relax and sink a beer 😂 I’ve not done much in Glencoe but I’ve done those two. Im terrible with hill names, you have some knowledge of the surroundings. Looking forward to the Knoydarr trip, stay safe 👍🍺

I’ve had plenty of videos without it that have done well but this was for me. I love looking back at aerial shots, it’s why certain channels often appeal to me more too. The glencoe one over the 3 days was the best weather for the drone but even still I’d had like it at Knoydart so that’ll get redone. I often get the anxiety as the sun goes down and you look round and can’t see another light or not even a sound. That feeling of completely on your own. Never lasts long but it’s there anyway.

Nice one Robert, totally get what you mean when you leave something behind, I’m always raging😂😂, it’s even worse when you bring the drone and leave it in car because weather looks shitty then clears up beautifully when your up top and you miss some great drone shots.
Thanks for the shout Robert👍 appreciate it.
Yeh it’s a lovely spot for a wild camp and you got lovely conditions.
Looking forward to your knoydart trip as I haven’t ventured into that area yet.
    Great edit overall Robert👍

I had opened my drone bag at the bealach hoping to get some shots up to stob dubh when I realised I had no controller so the climb up to stob coire reanach was just me raging with myself. Literally no wind at all night, not a drop, not a whisper. Like when was the last time we’ve had that? 🙈. Same with Knoydart, we had the clag but little wind, just ideal drone weather. When I watched Mack your footage I seen a few other spots that I’m gonna use further down when I’m not rushing in the morning, want a spot that’s at the edge overlooking the a82 so I can get some long exposure shots with the car lights.
Knoydart went completely different to how I had planned. You’ll see what I mean but I got there and actually felt more like u wanted to see inverie and experience the community as much as the mountains plus it was so clagged for my first day it made sense. Got one clear summit though, definitely going back. Loved that place. Can see why people leave them till last to complete too. Cheers frank, been enjoying catching up with your wee trip away too. ATVB, Robert

@@Moffatmountainadventures yeh that would be a great shot with the car headlights, it’s a great vantage point and not that long a hike up to the summit.
Typical , no wind and no drone shots.
Did the Aonach Eagach ridge last Sunday, brilliant experience 👍
Look forward to your next vid Robert.👍

How long have you had the Paramo jacket and whats your opinion of it so far? I tend to run hot when hiking, does it vent well?

    • @Moffatmountainadventures
      @Moffatmountainadventures  Před měsícem

Only just got it a few weeks ago. There’s ventilation on the arm pits but it’s still a pretty warm jacket. Was going to do a video on this at some point as it’s quite a change of jacket for me

It’s mad but I’ve cancelled a trip in the past simply because I’d forgotten my filming gear, daft really but I get why it pissed you off so much.

At one point I was genuinely feeling like I’d come home after this camp and not go up to Knoydart. Even now I’m still on the fence about the footage I got from there
