- Tom E. Curran, Phil Perry and Amina Smith join Trenni Casey on Arbella Early Edition to offer reaction following the sixth day of training camp for the Patriots. Is the team actually starting to improve, even if the on-the-filed product is still less than stellar? And how much of a role does Bill O'Brien have on that? The group discuss all that and more!

Has anyone ever wondered maybe the patriots defense is really that good? And for the offense to be making slow progress is good progress. Its only day 6 of practice. Maybe the offense will be great against some of the other teams defenses. Like someone else said in the comments " ill be more worried if the the defense is getting beat every time"!
Key take is that in the red zone the defense is waiting on the pass, and it's a huge advantage. Compressed area, they know the pass is coming, and getting any balls into hands there is a win.
They could actually work on some good route running to beat the defense despite them expecting the pass e.g. some smart legal pick plays to open up receivers. Last year everybody at 1st unyil 3rd & goal, knew that it was either gonna be a power run by Stevenson or a drop back by Mac and a fade in the back corner that usual did not amount to anything. Also, they can work on pass protection which was terrible last year
@@ziberpc245 agree 100% that this tight zone practice can make them more creative in finding legal pick plays and routes. I think adding the run possibility to this could make them decent in the zone. I will say decent until I see proof that it's better than decent, but I do think the threat of the run is going to round out their possibilities in the zone.
We are gonna win with this red sweatshirt god damn it !
Tyquan's catch rate percentage was 48.8% last year.
193rd of 197 receivers. Very, very bad.
Let him learn on the Juggs machines. NOT on gamedays.
While I am not saying Tyquan was or will be good catch rate isn't all on the WR. It how many of targets were caught which doesn't mean the targets were catchable. Mac Jones had a bad throw % of 13.4 so some of those targets were likely not catchable. However, Tyquan dropped five passes in 45 targets for an 11.1% drop rate which is more indicative of Tyquan.
@@jodyfoster9278 ANY way you slice it, 48.8% is a horrible catch rate. 193 out of 197 receivers in the NFL.
Catch rate is not the be all end all of stats. You need to analyze each play..
I don't know what these analyst expect but this is training camp is to get ppl players up to date on New scheme please stop the bull shit already man give the Coaches a break and players you all expect them to be the best in camp practice please
Phil Perry really is a Patriots reporting Gem. Just a matter of time before he's on national NBC, we're lucky we have him right now.
You don’t know the real Phil Perry and you don’t want to
@@trentbateman Oh jeez, who is the real PHil Perry
@@jackfeldman8684 lol it’s sarcasm. He seems like a saint
I'd be more worried if the defense was getting beat more than the offense.
Is the DL awesome...or is our OL terrible?
GameDay will probably tell more than camp against your own teammates could.
Bob Kraft: hit the bid.
Iron sharpening iron
Why do they have amina on if shes not even paying attention to the training camp practices... 3/5ths of the O-Line is out right now so yea the 2nd unit that has no one was getting feasted on but cmon who is surprised by that. We have good D-line Depth the 2nd unit is still good.
All this talk is kind of ridiculous! How do you feast as a pass rush when no one has pads on?? How do you block? Dumb!
O Brien is probably saying shit these wrs can't get open.
Why is trenni such a Debbie downer
This panel is so unworthy of the Patriots.
Does the WNBA have guys doing analysis?
Honestly I can’t stand listening to women tell me about men’s sports. They can’t tell me anything I want to hear that a man can tell me but a lot of bullshit that I don’t care about. And these guys love having a baby sitter
Yes.
@@Rickypaleo1776 I have to agree, nothing personal but it’s like the softball player Fox had on their broadcast, so hard to listen to. It just feels forced and it is the era we are in. I am sure they would be great in other outlets if broadcasting, women’s sports might be a place to start lol.
Gotta agree. I have premium and am finding myself fast forwarding when T&A are speaking. Oops, didn't mean to sound derogatory, but it is their names.
@@Speedyreedy1218 I hope they at least played CYO basketball. 😂
Boston sports analyst are terrible
Trenni has her mind made up ????/ She is a hater ????/
Amina turned into a white guy mid broadcast!
