Ambitious times unlike now!
At 2:48 my Nana used to live in the nearest block of flats, (the lower block) in the ground floor one on the corner.....that was the kitchen window. I'm talking about the late 60's and I used to stand by the side of the Mancunian Way watching the traffic rush by.
My granny Mary sullivan lived in the high rise Thomas court till she passed away in 1976.
Also used for the opening scenes of the series Life on Mars.

Yep, except there was either a huge mistake or a huge bit of licence there. Sam is knocked down on the road in modern times, then wakes up in 1973 on the building site. Except the problem was that the road was already complete by 1967.
I remember that rustling a few jimmies back in the day.
This was a key mistake in the BBC's "Life On Mars". Sam Tyler wakes up in 1973 on the Mancunian Way building site (having been knocked down on the same road in 2006) when in reality the road was already complete by 1967.
That was a major talking point at the time.
@02:00. Instead of a church spire, as we see in this, there are 100 to 200metre tall skyscrapers now.
Yeh sad and so unrecognizable now. I drove around these areas 3 weeks ago couldn't get my bearings
