- Woodford, London
Medium shot of busy a-road (M11) showing two lanes one of which is moving freely while the other is stuffed with cars either slow moving or boxed up in traffic. Various shots of traffic slowly converging upon the Woodford roundabout. Long-shot of children's playing ground camera pans right to show the densely populated area of Woodford. High angle panning shots of tower block and busy road (A11).
Note: Researcher indicates that this is the A406 and Hermon Hill, shot in the general vicinity of the M11, but does not show the M11 itself.

the roundabout is Charlie Brown's. The free flowing traffic shown initially is moving in Gants Hill/ ilford direction. This is not Hermon Hill, The tower blocks shown are halls of residence for the university. The houses shown were demolished, as was Mill Garage (on the roundabout) and Ted's Transport Cafe, to allow construction of the M11
Yes this is the Charlie Brown roundabout. The shots at around 4:25 are the Chigwell Road and the Broadmead estate can be seen on the skyline in the background. The river Roding runs through this area.
The red foden on the opposite side is horace kendrick.. My dad drove for them for 30 years that could be him at the time.. Nice pictures.. Dave.
See the guy near the end of this video sitting on the fence .. he's from this time transported back to that time sitting there admiring ALL the old classic vehicles as they pass by him :-D lol
In my former life I was part of the crew that set out the M11 pylons here with a theodolite.
Thank you for this-very interesting indeed!!
