Hello everyone!
Another riff montage video! This time one of my personal favorite sub genres in all of music, Post Hardcore!
I recorded and mixed all these songs in the same tuning being Eb Standard or Drop C# if the song was originally drop tuned. This helped with some copyright issues as well as provided me a halfway point for one tuning for the whole video, as these bands all use a range of different tuning higher and lower than the instrumentals I recorded. I used Superior Drummer for the drums. Hope you all enjoy and there's lots more of this kind of content on the way, including a Classic Metalcore riffs video already complete. You warm my heart by even knowing what "Post Hardcore" is. These new kids think it's something completely different.
I know what it is lmao but I listen to MCR not underoath (that one MV of theirs with the kids kissing kinda really put me off). It's honestly kinda hard of a genre to define. Like oh is this post hardcore or just fancier punk? Is this post hardcore or slightly watered down metalcore?
Usually I differentiate it by the fact that metalcore often uses big soundscapes and wide sounding screams, but if you have a lack of it it's a bit harder at least that's what I believe.

Post hardcore and metalcore to new peeps is just breakdowns non stop with the odd pop chorus. I dunno why they turned it into that when they were the same peeps who grew up with these bands

90s post hardcore is a just math rock.
Early '00 post hardcore can be defined by two types - mall emo like MCR, the Used, 2004's underoath or other sounding like Keepsake's album from 98 (pop screamo in simple words) or prog rock with scream vocals (those like thursday, saosin, dgd or of machines).
Metalcore is a just swedish melodeath with breakdowns in 00 (then it became just breakdowns with breakdowns with pop vocals and synth), and prog metal with breakdowns in 10.
@@arthurasatrian9044 always wanted to hear something that has that math rock kinda feel with that emotive hardcore style with a touch of metal. And yeah I agree, I’ve started saying that post hardcore is either math-punk rock or emo metal.

I dont personally think im a great bass player at all what so ever to do any justice, but i think itd be great to attempt it for sure! So many great basslines in this genre too to choose from itd be hard!

and yeah Satellite Years is one of my favorite albums ever :) too bad it goes unnoticed, very heavy & melodic hardcore album
