2017 March batch here. Got our Provisional Certificate by July 2021. Went back to China to complete a one year internship. Will I be exempted from two years of internship in India after completing one year of internship in China? I'm okay with doing one year again in India. Also, who decides if a student has to undergo one year or two year of internship in India? NMC or DMC (State Medical Council)?
Hi Dr, I hope you’re doing well. I am an Indian medical student who did her mbbs from China and as I had completed my final year and was about to start my internship, covid had ruined it. I was supposed to get graduated in 2021 June, but will get graduated now this June. This was a little background. :) 1. As I’m interested to get into Plab pathway, will this affect my registration with GMC? 2. I’m already undergoing my internship and will get done with it in 2 months, do I have to undergo FY1? 3. Is local medical council registration necessary to get into registration with GMC? Because I’m currently doing my internship in East Africa due to China opening their borders pretty late. Kindly help me with my queries, I’ll be more than thankful to you.
Thankyou for your question doctor. After passing your plab/ukmla exams, and applying for registration to practice in the UK, you are alloted an application advisor. Every single application is dealt with individually. Therefore, its important for you to understand that no one can answer the questions you have asked here, only GMC can tell you your next course action if you want to get registered with them. I'd like to reiterate again- "Every application in GMC is treated on individual basis and it varies from applicant to applicant". Therefore, I cannot tell you if any of it will affect your GMC registration.
@@dr__spinach Ohh I understand you doctor, even after me clearing both the steps of PLAB’s, will they tell me to go back home if they don’t accept it? Did you ever heard about such a scenario?

im a student 2019 batch MBBS in china and im about finish my final year next month ane want to peruse my internship in india so and ive seen guideline which is saying that it is necessary to do your internship in the same university where you conducted the study and because of that im confused about doing internship in india so can i do it or not please let me know ..
I am not very well versed with recent guidelines, there have been many changes as such in those due to covid 19 pandemic and on-line medical education. I would suggest to take advise from your immediate senior batches and discuss about this with your friends and batchmates at your university.
Hi mam Need to clear some things 2year internship is only for FMG students who have did their LAST YEAR ONLINE. It means that the final years students who did online only on final year . It’s 2015 batch of China FMG is the only batch who have to do the 2year internship. For the next batches 2016,2017 and all , still there is no solution yet for these batches from NMC. These 2years internship is not for these batches .
Right, so for now, the students who did their final year online have to do a 2-year internship but for people whose final year wasnt online, their has not been any verdict yet. However, 2016 and 2017 batch, did their final year online, at least the people I know- so its possible they fall under the 2 year internship rule.

They ask you to provide relevant evidence, if you dont provide that they may not process your application further.
