Just love this! Both as a patriotic American and a music fan, it is wonderful!! Always makes me feel good. The band, the chorus and the soloist are all first rate. And someone came up with a truly wonderful arrangement. I have known this song since I was a young child, but it has never sounded like this. Hooray for the Navy -- and hooray for America!!
I went to sing in a karaoke bar and another singer asked the KJ if he had "America The Beautiful" on his computer's database. He did. Then he challenged everyone in the bar to sing the song; to honor our country---and because we're Americans and we had all learned it in grade school.
I said, "Okay, you're on. We ARE Americans."
So that's what half the bar did. All verses on the recording were sung, as best we knew.
Made me proud to be an American!

Why am I reminded of the Gaither homecoming by this performance? Can’t decide who I like better. The Navy Band and Chorus or the Gaither Vocal Band/Chorus. It’s a toss up between a military music ensemble and a civilian gospel music ensemble. Both are phenomenally talented!

I am not an American, but I have friends of my ethnicity who are! One of the greatest virtues of this country, among numerous, is one does not have to be legally American to be American! The greatest country on Earth human beings have ever seen built/constituted on values, believes, humanities….and above all love!!!
There's some magic in this performance that's gotten me hooked. The "big" sound, the perfect arrangement - of instruments, beat, harmony, voices and Chelsi's exuberant solo ....this is simply magnificent!!

The SC are superb. But honestly the Red Army Choir takes this to a whole different level. There is a recording of RAC singing America the Beautiful in Canada in honor of Americans who died in 9/11. It is fantastic.

My uncle retired from the Navy in San Diego and I served in Army at Fort Ord, California. I fell in love with this song when Ray Charles sang it. The Navy Band did a fantastic job performing this song

I love this. Better than the singing of celebrities !!!! The best thing that ever happened when Hollywood & celebrity singers turned down celebrating the win of President Trump is that it brought out the immense talents of the different branches of our military. I hope that at every inaugurations & Fourth of July celebrations we'll always have our military people performing. So evocative of patriotic sentiments
