Cardio & Strength HIIT for Women // All Standing Workout with Dumbbells for Menopause!

- Get ready for this challenging full body workout! This routine really shakes things up and will activate your muscles for growth and provide optimal calorie burn. All exercises are standing and are set to a timer with 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds of rest. There are a total of four rounds. Each round begins with one high impact cardio move (check modification boxes for low impact options) followed by two strength exercises, one for the upper body, one for the lower body. We will then repeat those same exercises for a second set. Please go at your own pace and use weights that are appropriate for your ability. For reference, I'm using a set of two 12 pound (5.4 kg) dumbbells and a set of two 8 pound (3.6kg) dumbbells.

Jeez Louise, I'm 19 and very fit, and I've roped both my mom and grandma into working out with me this summer.
I usually do SeniorShape with Grandma, and more intermediate Pilates videos with Mom.
Today, our TV isn't working, so I told my mom we could do a SeniorShape video on my laptop because it's easier to follow that without a TV than the Pilates videos where we're twisted in bizarre ways and craning to see the screen. She went, "You want me to do an old lady workout??" But I told her it's harder than it looks, and we have a running menopause joke in our house, so when I saw this, I knew she'd have to try it just to see what it was about.
We are WHIPPED, Lauren. I was prepared for a workout, but I did not expect to be fuLLy humbled by your videos today, and now we are both covered in sweat, panting, and off to go shower. Normally your videos are a fun way to connect with my grandma and get her back in shape; not so challenging to me, but you win this time... You win.

WOW! That was so GREAT! No, I couldn't lift heavier weights every time but I did lift what I could. Did I do every higher impact move? No, but I definitely kept up. Was that super challenging? Oh heck YEAH! And dang! I did it and I loved it! Thank you, thank you, Lauren!

Thanks Lauren for this great workout and all of the modifications! I am 61. I have 10# weights but decided for this first time I should use my 8# weights, and I think that was the right decision. We'll see tomorrow lol. When you went to lower weights I used 5# weights, which is the next-heaviest I have. The great thing is I can increase as I get stronger. It was a tough workout but it also made me FEEL STRONG!

I just love this workout which is geared for menopausal women! Wow, just what I needed! And the heavy weights is a bit of a challenge and the jumping too. But for my sake, I have to challenge myself! And i was able to do it!

So kudos to the senior citizens who are working hard. My hat’s off to them! And I definitely do not use the 15’s the most. Just when I feel I can stand the challenge. Anywho, these are the only workouts I’ve ever been able to stick with besides the treadmill and I LOVE that I can see my muscles now! Keep it up!!

Loved this workout! I’m 64, but have been working out for 11 years. A more advanced workout for seniors is a different animal and not easy to find. Also loved the Osteoporosis and Knee Friendly workout, but I used heavier weights. Thanks again !

I did this! What!?! Yes, I did!! 8lb weights + 10lb for goblet squat!! Modified some cardio, but did some high impact, too!! I can't believe it!! What a workout!!!

Lauren this workout was amazing AND phenomenal!. I did the modifications for some of the moves. I was able to keep my pace. I did glisten, yay! The stretch was one of the best stretches I have encountered. I will definitely do this workout again. I will challenge myself with heavier (for me) weights then work on repetitions.
