- First of all the crash happened in an opposite chronological order compared to what you see here in the video. Yes because unfortunately the owner of this RS200, former rallycross driver Pat Doran, crashed it during the very first day of the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed but, after a hard and long night work, the car was able to rip up the Goodwood House's hillclimb course in the following 3 days of the event.
It's nicknamed "Rosie" and this Ford RS200 Evo 2 has undergone development since the early ’90s when Doran was using it in the European RX Championship. A new modern turbocharged has been added, the H-pattern gearbox replaced by a Quaife six-speed sequential unit such as the suspensions and brakes.
The standard Ford-Cosworth 1.8-litre turbocharged engine was punched out to 2.1-liters for all RS200 Evolution models (and called by Cosworth "BDT-E") and in this particular monster is now able to produce around 800 hp and 800+ Nm of torque on a car that weighs less than 1,000 Kg.

These two idiots🤣 it’s well known the RS200 is lethal look at its history in Group B... and search the crash where the thing split in two round a tree after losing traction over a crest... an absolute rocket but heavily unstable

That's one of my favorite cars of all time. Sad to see That wreck, but fiberglass is cheap .
Body panels can be replaced, the chassis was build to withstand a bomb, quick fix and itll be driveable in no time

No it is not. Not at all actually. The car that ended group b was the lancia delta s4 with toivonens fatal crash. Nobody except audi cared about the rs200 crash in portugal

Just say don't judge him and say he doesn't know how to drive because he crash. He knows to drive, i don't know the driver, but from hes driving you see that he knows how to drive a car that don't have any electronic help system. And these old cars are very dangerous cars. One basic reaon they is that they don't use electronic systems for help the driving. Generally the racing driv, indipented the technology of any racing car is very difficult drive, and the accidents are physically acceptable. You must accept in races, that sometimes in your life you will crash, it's very normal to crash.

The standar rs200 had between 400-500 hp depending on the stage, but the rs200 evo2’s (this one) had 800+ hp. They sadly never got to race them in group b rally because it got shut down, but it competed in rallycross events
