Embracing each other while holding her, maybe a quick little kiss, stuff like that. I would've loved that and even for the epilogue, with the pictures. I must admit that Ep 16 was a good ending. The beauty of the Korean romantic culture shined through. One must take the time to love, to allow someone into your personal space. Even when love is destined, it faces dark moments. And also learn the lesson of hopelessness, of loving someone who is not destined for you. I am among, those who believe that we choose our destiny before being born. Why did Eun-seong chose a destiny of abandonment, desperation, and the ultimate loss of his life? Such a terrible fate of being born to lose rather than winning in the end. A good show makes you question life and Ep 16, left me in a space of introspection. It was the best episode of the series. We had to wade through the waters - get through some difficult episodes to get to the good. K-dramas, overall, are the best in the world! However, I wish that contemporary shows follow the historical dramas and stay true to their culture rather than westernising the scripts. There were a few references in this show that made me gasp. The best thing they did was remove that painting and replaced it with a family portrait. Focus on your own cultural heroes, your own folklores, and poets, K -writers, even if you are writing for Netflix!

I started crying even though its a happy ending. And Hyun Woo saying that he will live short after Hae In's death and it happened touched me. It was a perfect ending showing that they lived and died with each other. ❤ And reminded us that life is not infinity but it will end eventually. ❤
And the chemistry was so strong that there was no need of Kiss or Skinship.

There was no need for the ending, we know they will find each other in the afterlife, true love is forever. They should have ended it in the present , we want them to be alive in our minds, we know they are just characters in a show but they are more than that ,they remind us of who we are, of what is good in life. There is no need to remind us that time passes by and we will all eventually leave our footprints behind, I prefer to not think about it. Great show, fantastic cast and , is it just me, but in the end I felt bad for the miserable and sad life Eun-seong had lived, in a way he deserved better.

I honestly think the last episode was just pure perfection. I understand how some people want more romantic, lovey-dovey scenes but it's unrealistic for Hae in to be that emotionally invested when her memories aren't back 100%. I also love how the ending did not end with a kiss, as others wish so, because it's too cliche and does not go well with the meaning of the series which is what love looks like in marriage, and how it transitions to the afterlife. And having the family picture of them being all happy and united was the cherry on top! I love this drama so much and will rewatch it for sure. 🥰 Can't wait for the extra eps!

it didn't come as a surpise to me that he was gonna be the old man bringing flowers to the grave, i felt they showed that scene with that purpose in mind from the beggining. i wasn't mad there wasn't another kiss, these 2 actors have crazy chemistry. a look or gaze was enough to make me shy, lol. i was hopng they would have another child and i was happy to see it happened. in the end even the bad guys turned good got their punisment and reward, it all felt satisfying. would have been better if they didn't show the grave scene, was indeed a bit unnecessary to a perfect ending. we know they lived happly ever after by the pictures, but still. loved the ending, thank you writer for not dissapointing us. but i have to disagree with you, as much as we hated EunSung, i was really sad when he died. it felt so tragic because he was soo starved from love all his life, he desperately seeked it everywhere and was constantly rejected. sure his ways were faulty but they were out of desperation and he never had a good example of how to express his love and desire. he was holding on to whatereve he could, as a last hope, i felt his character was the most tragic of them all. his mother was the true villan, EunSung was one more victim. i knew it was too late for him, but i wish he would find some pesce cuz i din't fel he was truly evil, judt misguided. Grace is a perfect example of being almost the same but changing course, correcting her mistakes and finding love and support within this family. Grace was an example of what it can do to a bad person when you show them love and warmth. This drama was great, even tho it felt i watched an entire season in the last 2 episodes, it was quite intense. but it didn't dissapoint, and i am very grateful for it

Did anyone else notice that when they were in Germany, Haein was walking through the cemetery and noticed an old man walking with a bouquet. He placed the bouquet on a headstone and then Haein got distracted. When she looked back, the old man disappeared. At the end of the show, Hyun woo became that old man and the scene replayed. He walked through that same cemetery, placed the lavender on the headstone.

Absolutely the Most beautiful ending ever... completely unexpected.
I cried more in the last episode than any other.
You really have to understand and cherish true love, and have experienced it with its beauty and pain... to actually appreciate an ending like that.
    Beautiful.
    Completely, entirely, simply... Beautiful.
My favorite ending of the hundreds of dramas I have seen.
Kim Soo-Hyun... Gave beauty to this drama! He absolutely knows how to select his projects, how to bring them to life and I can only assume it is because he has a heart like that.
Kim Ji-Won and the rest of the cast were brilliant. The elegance, the emotion... superb!
This will be top of my list!
Two Soo-hyun dramas already in my top five!
    He is magnificent!
    Blessings!
    May we see more...

Actually there are theories that Haein originally passed away on 2034 so she only lived 10 more years after the surgery. In fact if u notice the happy ending, it shows only pics of the couple with their kid but it seems the pics show the kid not older than maybe 7. There are no pics of the child grown up…

When I saw that "1990 - 2074", I knew it was a happy ending already. 50 years after their divorce and implied remarriage and you can see how much he loved her still. Even though we didn't see how it went or how it ended, the fact that they spent the rest of their lives together until death took one of them is nonetheless special in its own way. It was a fitting end, knowing their 2nd try at love strengthened their relationship and brought their lovestory to last for a lifetime. ✨️

I specifically remember her saying she liked the concept of being buried in a garden where their loved one can always be around them so if she didn't move to Germany then she would be buried in a country where only Hyun Woo visits on a certain period of time.

The ending even when it's a happy ending, fell short. In tagalog we call it "bitin".
They could've extended it to 2hrs and showed us more scenes of their life together. There's too many things wasn't shown. Like the video that Hyunwoo recorded before Hae-in went to surgery, she didn't even watch that. Or when they got married for the second time. Hae-in's struggles when she was still pregnant, etc.
