FSCJ Ophthalmic Technician Program

The Ophthalmic Technician Associate in Science (A.S.) program prepares students for entry level employment in medical and surgical eye care. Ophthalmic technicians are in high demand and perform ophthalmic testing and patient services under the direction and supervision of a licensed ophthalmologist. The curriculum focuses on professional courses with classroom and laboratory instruction. Students gain clinical experience in the practicum rotations at local ophthalmic clinics and practices.
